Pros:

This cleared up my 13-year-old son's acne when nothing else worked. He went from tears and shame to relief and higher confidence in just a couple of days! He's now been on it for 2 months. It's natural and safe and I feel good about my son using it.

A safe, effective alternative to medications.

Pros:

I feel my skin fresh and clean after use. Does better my acne a tad bit.

Cons:

Doesn't prevent acne from coming before time of month.

It's a good product, just don't use too much on the same day or else you will start noticing dry skin. It does better my pimples a bit, but I'm looking for something that's better for all my acne problems, like blackheads.

Pros:

Leaves skin feeling fresh and clean, helped a bit with acne.

Cons:

Didn't do anything for blackheads...also I used it in the summer when I was out in the sun and swimming alot all day and my face got really dry even with moisturizer. Scent was a little strong.

It's ok. Nothing spectacular.

Pros:

I am 20, and I FINALLY have amazingly clear skin. I have not been this clear for a few years. I would always have a pimple here and there, but with this I am competely clear. It is very inexpensive, especially compared to prescription products.

Cons:

It actually dried out my fingertips and they started to peel...so now every other time I apply the pads I use my left hand fingers, so my right fingertips aren't so dried out.

I am so very pleased with this product. I have recommended it to my best friend and boyfriend.

Pros:

only thing that keeps working, even after long time use!

Cons:

none

this is the only product that has been consistant for me. most products help for a short time when i just start using them and then i start to break out again. I've used this product for about 1 1/2 year, once daily, and its great. real breakouts reduced to rarely. Also great for spot treatment. It takes care of a lot of redness of my skin as well. I have acne that leaves scars and have had Rx meds for a year and i'm still not over it, very frustrating!! this mask really works for me. I have same problem as Shelly though, they stopped selling it at the cvs and rite aid pharmacies around where i live. Will most likely buy it online but if anyone knows where to get it in another store so i don't have to pay almost triple the price i would be very happy!

Pros:

My acne cleared up almost right away

Cons:

It dryed my skin

I like it but I don't like the dryness. I use the moisturiser too so my face isn't too dry.

Pros:

you think it's working when you first try and it's exciting due to the tingling although i believe it's just a mental thing, after watching the ads and reading the packaging you would be sure that it would work in 8 hours!
it goes on clear!

Cons:

that tingling turns to intense burning after the third or forth try, it cracks and flakes the skin and for me it caused my acne to get worse! after a week i ended up with big sore, red spots all over.

i do not recommend this product, it doesn't work in 8 hours , it doesn't even work in three weeks! It burns your skin and causes more breakouts. i'm not sure why they claim 8 hours, is that even possible from any treatment!

Pros:

Worked within a week. No redness. Cheaper than microdermabrasion.

Cons:

I wish that it was less expensive, maybe just about a few more dollars less. Say around $4.49.

I've had acne before and after my pregnancies. I've always had dark brown spots. It depends on what kind of skin you have. I have sensative skin but it worked fine. The smell is not bad to me because I like mushrooms. lol. People seem to complain about the smell. Like some comments, just try it for about a month or so to see if it will work. With every product in the world, it takes generally about a month to show results. Even home remedies take time.

Pros:

i works really good

Cons:

dries out skin,

it works good on existing pimples and even better on the ones you feel coming, the bad thing is depending on you skin type it might irritate your skin, on my case it does but just a little. reduce pimple size within hours!

Pros:

Cleared up a pimple here and there

Cons:

BURNING, REDNESS, PEELING. It looked like I splashed high concentrated acid all over my face.

It didn't work for me at all! It was way too harsh on my skin. I bought it at Wal-Mart so when they saw my face, they immediately refunded my money!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
