Pros:

-Reduces size and redness of pre-existing pimples and scars
-The toner improves complexion

Cons:

-breakouts
-breakouts
-more breakouts

-feels greasy
-overpriced
-night cream and lotion do nothing

Started off well for the first week, but wound up making me violently breakout. Could be different for anyone else, so if you can spare the 30 bucks then it could be worth a try.

Pros:

- Gives your skin a fresh feeling

Cons:

- Doesn't clear away oil
- Didn't notice THAT much of a difference
- Doesn't work for back acne

It said to use it for about 3 - 4 weeks and I've use it longer then that. I haven't noticed much results. My skin type is oily and This doen't help with that at all. I read something about benzoyl peroxide in a non-fiction book I found and decided to look for a acne cleanser tjhat had benzoyl peroxide in it. I found this product and got pretty excited because I thought I would FINALLY get rid of the acne on my forehead, nose area and chin. But instead of doing what it said in the insturctions,("It contains a pore-penetrating technology that invisibly deposits benzoyl peroxide directly into pores where pimples start, so the acne-fighting medication doesn't wash away") I actually started growing tiny pimples and blackheads on my cheeks. I don't think I would recommend this to people with oily skin though.

Pros:

Works well for some people
Cleared acne considerably - did not eliminate it but helped control it

Cons:

None that I can think of

Actually I'm rating this for my best friend who I bought this for.. When I met him he was in his 20s and it never occured to him that if you washed your face, it would help control your acne hehe. So I coached him on how to wash his face, etc. and his acne cleared up quite a bit (he went from moderately severe to light acne). He had the really red inflamed kind constantly before he started washing. It may be worth a try if you're willing to experiment, I'd say.

Pros:

Keeps your skin clear.
Easy to use.
Does not bleach clothing.
Keeps your face smooth.

Cons:

The foam does not dispense correctly leaving you to throw the can away.

MaxClarity is a great acne solution. It is just that there is more foam in the can that does not come out!!!!

Pros:

Easy to use
Left skin so soft
Saw results quickly

Cons:

Foam cans can be defective

I received this product about eight weeks ago or more and was very skeptical of the product. I am happy to say that I am more than pleased with this product. I use more than the recommended amount of product religiously every morning and night, and witnessed results within the first four weeks. My skin has never felt softer and for the most part is clear. I went from having a dozen to two dozen blemishes/cysts/white heads to currently having 1! I would highly recommend this product to anyone who has a problem with acne. I used to dread going to work with these "things" all over my face, I would cake on layers of make up, and now I can leave the house without any foundation and concealer. I wish I could show you a before and after picture to demonstrate the difference this product has made. I feel more confident and happy with myself and I think others should try it as well!! =)

Pros:

- good product, does help clear up acne.

Cons:

- HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

WOWOWOW. okay. i ordered some things from them, the extra strength proactiv system and a green tea moisturizer. We waited about two weeks for it to come, and it didn't come. I called them, and they said it wasn't supposed to come out till the end of may, so they apologized and said they would put a rush on it and it should be here within a week. so we waited a week, and it hadn't come, so we called again, and they apologized again and said they would put a rush on it, and it should be here within a week. HMM. it didn't come within a week. so we called again, and they said the items were on back order, and it should be here within a week. FINALLY, it's been two weeks, and i open up the box and all that's in there is a tiny travel kit. WOW. $50 for a travel kit. THANK YOU PROACTIV. Not buying anything from you again. completely and absolutely disgusted with this joke of a customer service.

Pros:

shrunk pimples (but also caused new ones)
not greasy

Cons:

expensive

i haven't used this product consistently for a very long time, so i'm not sure whether a longer use of this product would cause different and improved results. i used this product for about a week on my acne that seemed to be getting worse lately, since there were many good reviews about this. for me personally, i did not see much improvement. it shrunk some pimples, but it seemed to cause new pimples too. disappointed because i was really hoping for good results!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
