Pros:

some red marks start to fade on first week
less breakouts
removes blackheads
whiteheads are disappearing
pimples disappear faster

Cons:

Itchy skin for first 2 weeks
shipping is EXPENSIVE

it's not a bad product, it works better than the other products i've had. although after 2-3 weeks i started breaking out again, that could result from using too much bp or too little. BE VERY CAREFUL AROUND THE EYE AREA, woke up one day with red skin around the eyes. it's worth the risk to take, but be careful with the amount, to little and to much can hurt the skin. if you want your skin to clear up, you have to be gently with the the bp and not touch the face, trust me, it helps.

Pros:

WORKS! give it time and hopefully it will work for you too. Easy to use, cheap, and quality ingredients, not full of harsh chemicals. Love the moisterizing cream!

Cons:

cleanser can bleach fabrics like many acne products, kind of a pain in the butt routine when you are feeling lazy, bar soap dried my skin out a little at first.

I have been suffering from moderately severe cystic acne for the last 10 yrs without any really successful treatments. I went to a new derm in 12/09 and he made me feel the worst anyone ever has about my skin. Part of the problem was he said the only hope I had was accutane. I was determined to prove him wrong and stumbled on Carley's in a search, with nothing to lose I ordered it. It help clear up my skin some within the 1st few weeks but not amazingly. I figured I would use up what I had bought and move on. After about 3 months I am mostly clear! I still have a few breakouts but not the painful cystic ones and not enough to change products again. I'm finally happy with my skin!

Pros:

THIS STUFF WORKS. i'm asian, and i have oily, acne-prone skin. I've used everything, literally. I've been depressed over my acne, and this stuff WORKS. There's slight drying, but it WORKS. Trust me, my acne has improved and i've had optimal results. It's great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cons:

initial drying towards the beginning of use, but your skin will adapt to it and the conditions will alleviate

If you have acne and you're struggling with it, GET THIS . 10% Benzoyl Peroxide, hands down.......it works. Miracle in a bottle.

Pros:

After trying many products, I bought this system, I live in the UK where it is called 'anti blemish' solutions. It is lovely to use, makes my skin so soft and spots appear flatter, I have noticed a difference in the oil production on the surface of my skin, and its definitely made my acne less inflamed. I also the sacyclic acid spot treatment gel on a couple of the big spots I have and that leaves a nice tingly feeling. My skin is definitely clearer and I've only been using it for a week.

Cons:

Smells a bit strange. but nothing to bad.

This has definitely worked for me, and it was well worth the investment in my opinion.

Pros:

clears acne fast
smells nice
easy, convienent, and cheap

Cons:

made skin a little dry, but can be fixed

i've read a lot about people's skin getting really dry with the severe system, but these can be easily fixed by wearing a moisturizer, i recommend either clinique or clean and clear brand. this stuff cleared my acne, and i don't break out anymore. however it did not shrink my pore size, but thats not what its meant to do anyway. this product is amazing!

Pros:

I've only used this once and I can already see a difference! Redness and size of pimples have gone down, and little ones even went away!

Cons:

My skin is a little flaky and dry..nothing an exfoliant and moisturizer can't take care of.

Tingly feeling that makes your face itch.

This is awesome so far! Can't wait to use it longer and hopefully see more results. :)

Pros:

Cleanser is exfoliating.
BP is a great texture.
Sunscreen/moisturizer isn't oily.
Found at drugstores/grocery stores.

Cons:

A little pricey.
Run out of cleanser waaaay before BP and lotion.

This is the one acne product I've found that actually works for me. I will eventually get tired of paying the $20 a month for it, but when I try something cheaper and break out again I always go back to this product. I think it's well-made, travels easily, and is an overall great product. **Plus, most of the boxes I've purchased have coupons inside to save $4.00 on the next box you buy, so that helps.

Pros:

Clears acne, smells nice, clean feeling

Cons:

well it has BP in it so starting off be careful not to overdo it.

I few people here said the "tingly" feeling meant it was burning your skin. But don't worry, that isn't true.. if you will read the ingredients it has MENTHOL in it. If you have sensitive skin dont start off using this twice a day, just once and work your way up. But it did clear my acne in about two weeks and has continued to keep it clear. I'm very happy with this product... never been happier actually. I also used to have INCREDIBLY oily skin... after an hour my makeup would be coming off because of all the oil but now all day long i'm good. I just occasionally pat it with some toliet paper at work on my forehead but that's it. I use this twice a day, in the morning i put it on my face in the shower and rub it around like usual, then I let it sit there for a minute before washing off. At night.. i put it on and use a washcloth to exfoliate then i wash it off. I then apply a layer of it and let it sit for a bit like a mask.. then wash off. This is my method that works but may not work for everyone.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
