Pros:

-Reduces redness.
-Prevents breakouts (successfully!!)
-Dries clear if you put it on thin during the day
-Results in less than a week - almost less than one day for me!!
-Works EXTREMELY fast.

Cons:

It dries out your skin, obviously. What acne product doesn't? That's the way you get rid of pimples, anyway.
If you put on too much, it can leave this crusty white residue over the affected area.

I used to use Zapzyt, and I saw results from that after 2 weeks. But this, wow, it works in about 2 - 7 days! Fastest acne product ever! But, (Oh no, here comes the but!), it dries out your skin really easily. So, if you don't really want flaky skin, put a really thin layer on, but not too thin that it doesn't work! And over night, you can put clumps of it on, and that in the morning it will be fine. Bottom Line- I FREAKIN' LOVE IT!

Pros:

Dries clear
Pores Smaller Instantly
Sucks out the Oil
Smooth Skin

Cons:

NONE

I was skeptical at first because I have had acne for 15 years now moderatly severe. This has been a life saver. I can now go out with no makeup on and my skin looks great. Only time I break out a bit is that special time of the month because of hormones you know...Thank you Daniel for a great affordable product! I currently am using Purpose Cleanser and Acne.org BP but may add more to my regimine later. Works great!

Pros:

Cleared up ALL acne, and after a month I was able to reduce the dosage to a small amount once a day and maintain clear skin.

Affordable, even with shipping.

Cleared blackheads too, even though I had heard that it didn't work very well for those.

Cons:

I've heard that this can make your skin very dry and peely, but I have oily skin and didn't experience excessive dryness.

I had red, inflamed acne from the age of 10. (Luckily it was never cystic, though). It settled down a bit when I started trying various topical acne treatments as a teenager, and after puberty I mostly just got tiny little bumps with no head scattered across certain areas, plus the occasional big whitehead. Even though it was less noticeable, I was still very unhappy with the texture of my skin, and I had some small blackheads on my nose and cheeks that would never go away no matter what I tried. I'm 20 now, and I felt that I really needed to get rid of the acne in order to look more like an adult, especially since I'm petite and often get mistaken for being younger than I am. I bought the BP, AHA+, and jojoba oil. The BP completely cleared my skin within the first week, and it felt so amazing to run my fingers over my face and feel smooth skin for the first time in ten years. The AHA+ has also helped make it smoother, and the jojoba oil definitely provides long-lasting moisture. Overall I am very satisfied with the products I purchased.

Pros:

not smelly like other products, gel absorbs quickly, does not come off with sweat, does not dry skin, really works, reasonably priced

Cons:

takes color out of clothing, towels and sheets if not careful, just the nature of the product & cannot be avoided or improved upon

highly recommended, have tried many products & this one is by far the best

Pros:

Saved my skin! This was the best product I have ever used in my life

Cons:

It's a little drying, but that's the point! A little oil free lotion over it and there were no problems.

Oxy Maximum Vanishing LOTION is fantastic! Sadly, it's been discontinued. All they have now is their spot treatment :( The spot treatment works, but it doesn't work to PREVENT. So now I can get rid of the pimples with the spot treatment, but I can't prevent them! It's very dissapointing, and I wish they would bring the Vanishing Lotion back!!!! My skin was FLAWLESS with the Oxy lotion.... It's such a let down to find a product that works 100% for you, and then have it discontinued. Anyone know a product that works as well as the Oxy Maximum Vanishing LOTION?! I've been trying other BP lotions, and they just don't cut it! They've been giving more pimples....so that's counter-productive!

Pros:

Carley's never left my skin dry or inflamed like other products have. And it works beautifully! It not only found a solution for my acne but makes the rest of my complexion absolutely flawless. Ordering is a cinch and delivery is quick and reliable.

Cons:

It does bleach washcloths, but let's be real, how important is that if it gives you clear skin?

I can't get enough of this product, and that's something special to me--I've tried twelve prescriptions, tons of painful light and acid peel treatments, "natural" spa procedures, and absolutely every acne product sold in stores. Seriously, name a brand and I can tell you I've tried it. But even after all of the time and money (oh goodness, all the money...) spent, I was just left with "okay" skin, never 100% clear. I taught myself to accept that I wouldn't have great skin. I became dependent on heavy makeup just to leave the house, which caused me to feel masked and honestly embarrassed. I confessed to a sorority sister how I envied her clear skin; in high school she and I had similar sufferings with awful acne, but in a matter of months her face was flawless, literally flawless. I asked her if she knew where I could buy Pro***** (I had already used it twice, but what the heck, I thought I'd try it again), but instead she gushed, "No! Try Carley's!" and just like that I was hooked. Within weeks my face was clear, I was wearing less makeup, and my confidence skyrocketed. Now we have our whole sorority's chapter using Carley's and we can't get enough! What a blessing this product has been for me and my friends. I would recommend it to anyone!

Pros:

Benzoyl Peroxide cleanser
Nice exfoliant
Kept skin around my nostrils from flaking

Cons:

Smells bad
Didn't help acne at all
Toner and lotion made skin oily

I bought the 1 month supply, and it worked the first day. THAT'S IT. I was out of town and i washed my face with it the next morning, and it took away all of my tiny white heads and kept them away. The next month that I kept using it, i kept breaking out as usual. I thought toner was used to keep my skin fresh and have a nice texture throughout the day, right? Apparently not. It made my face feel sticky and made it slightly oily. I have VERY oily skin, so this was not good to start off the day with already oily skin. I would use as little of the lotion as possible, but that too would make my skin end up oily. Definitely a rip off. Pleaseeeee try something else before this!

Pros:

clears acne
gives skin a healthy glow
skin stays clear and moisturized

Cons:

a little bit of overdrying at first

I use proactiv now and absolutely love it! I would recommend it to anyone! I contemplated over and over on whether or not to get it. I used to get occasional breakouts and nothing seemed to get rid of them. I've tried top of the line acne treatment systems like murad and dermalogica and it made my acne worse. So I switched to clearasil and that worked alright, but still the breakouts would not go away. Then I looked into proactiv, read a ton of reviews and asked a lot of opinions. I finally decided to try it and the bottom line is it actually works! For once it's not a scam. It does dry your skin out a little bit at first but the green tea moisturizer definitely helps with that. I started seeing results in a week. It's amazing! I would recommend it to anyone with mild acne.

Pros:

Cheap, Good customer service

Cons:

Destroyed my face, deep scarring, cystic acne with multiple whiteheads forming every day, one on top of the other! Red marks that will take a long time to go away...

Like many other reviews I stuck with this product for about six weeks. After seeing my chin and upper lip explode in horrendous cysts, countless dozens of white bumps, and red marks I decided to give up. At this point I have honestly given up ALL acne treatments as my skin is so damaged at this point I think doing nothing couldn't make it much worse. If you do try this, which I do not recommend, I say DON'T be patient. If you notice an extreme reaction, as I did within the first week, STOP. Yes, sometimes skin reacts to new treatments, but I have never used a product (and I have used many) that has caused so much of a bad effect. If it works for you, great. I think there are better options for a BP topical.

Pros:

Made skin slightly smoother
Concealed (Is that even good?) acne for about a month

Cons:

Acne became incredibly unmanageable
Many, widely varied kinds of acne showing up in random places on face

Seemed great when I started using it. My skin indeed seem to clear up overnight. However, after about a month, my acne began coming back. With friends. Realizing the futility of the so-called treatment, I stopped using it. Now, my acne, which used to be mild and very manageable, is uncontrollable. I've broken out ridiculously since stopping with this product. Any acne I do have cannot be controlled with any method. Complete and total scam.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
