Pros:

clears and prevents acne, helps to control shine, doesnt irritate my sensitive skin

Cons:

has fragrance in it

this review is for the clean and clear advantage moisturizer with 0.5% salicylic acid (in the silver and blue bottle-not to be confused with the dual action moisturizer). i have seen amazing results since i started using this. after 10 yrs of suffering and trying everything else-im finally seeing major improvement. even my dark spots are fading. i always thought that since most of the neutrogena products are crappy that the clean and clear products were too since they are made by the same company. boy was i wrong. thanks to a thread made by "botchla"- i decided to give the clean and clear products a try- and im so glad i did!!!

Pros:

cleared all my acne
nice scent(i think so, like cucumber)
gentle and doesn't dry my skin

Cons:

doesn't really help blackheads

I would DEFINITELY recommend this product! It really cleared up all my acne and prevents breakouts. I occasionally get an odd small pimple but scrubbing it well and then putting some antiseptic on it makes it dissapear within a day or two. I'm very satisfied because neutrogena was TERRIBLE and I've found all the biore products great but this one is my favorite. The astringent was good but irritated my skin slightly while I don't get any drying of the skin with this scrub. definitely buy it!

Pros:

Great!

Cons:

Wonderful!

All you people with the negative attittude need to just back off. I KNOW FOR A FACT that Pure Zone is better than proactive. Yes, Better! I am very pleased with it and ALL of my pimples and blemishes are gone and have been since I started using this product about two years ago. Recently, I was out of this product and could not find it in stores. I had this bump in my face for about four days. Finally, my face wash arrived from [link removed] and instantly I washed my face and that 4 day old bump peeled right off, instantly. Amazing! I knew then this was the product for me, and besides Beyounce was the one who told me about it and I know it does a good job on her beauty enhancement...Peace!...

Pros:

It worked really well for me. I used it right after I was done with Accutane to keep my skin clear. However, it didn't minimize my pores and I saw a few blackheads. I switched over to Murad, and I am beginning to regret it.

Cons:

Didn't help minimize pores. If anything it felt like my pores were bigger. But no acne...like it promised.

I love the product, and I think I should have stuck with it. Hopefully Murad helps, but I am starting to see acne appear again on my face. And it has been a few months since I've seen acne on my face after accutane (several months actually). I keep thinking I was being too picky about everything since while I was on Accutane, I had the perfect skin, and being off of it is a bit sad. I would recommmend this product though.

Pros:

How soft your skin will feel afterwards

Cons:

makes skin a bit dry at first

I've used it for a while and I'm not completely sure if this has truely faded my red marks or if time has, since it takes 8 weeks for results, but either way it makes my skin feel great afterwards!

Pros:

Smells good, fresh tingle, feels clean

Cons:

Doesn't kill pimples like a miracle; but I didn't expect it to

I love this stuff. It makes me feel so clean and fresh. Other astringents I've used basically feel like alcohol and burn (and I do not have sensitive skin, it's actually very resistant), but this is a lot gentler and feels great. It has helped with my pimples a little, but it's nothing that crazy. I use it almost every day mainly to get rid of oil and freshen up. :)

Pros:

It smells good. It gets rid of my tiny problemed pimples over night.

Cons:

It dries out my skin.

It's good for your tiny pimples over night. It dries out your skin, like it says on the package. Use it if you just have some small pimples.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
