Pros:

It works!
It doesn't irritate our skin.
It's relatively inexpensive.
It lasts a long time.
The company sends lots of freebies: bars of natural soap and samples.

Adult acne is no fun, but I also have skin that reacts to a lot of things. I get contact dermatitis from certain chemicals and touching certain plants when I garden. My skin improved immediately when I tried Carley's Clear & Smooth. I believe they were the ones who recommended trying their natural soap on your hair as well. I've since changed everything I use on my hair and skin, from shampoo to make-up and my skin has improved further. I've been using their products for over a year and am very satisfied. I order enough for myself and my teenage sons who request it.

Pros:

Cleared my acne
works fast
very little drying
not pricey at all

Cons:

NONE

I love this product. i had SERVE acne because i was using Movate to fade some scars on my chest, back, and face and never doing that again. I broke out SO BADLY it was ridiculous. so i decided to try out this product and within the first day i saw improvement. I had to wash my face chest and back extra clean. i used regular soap at first then i exfoliator. It did dry my face but not as bad as other product and wasn't as noticeable. it's the first week and most of my acne on my back and face is almost gone. I'm so HAPPY. Oh and this is my first tube. It lasts a long way for a small tube considering I had to use it for my face, back, and chest and its cheap.

Pros:

Awesome price, free body wash, works fast, shrinks pores.

Cons:

Shipping takes a long time, can leave skin itchy and dry.

Shipping took FOREVER (1 month), and i even tried to cancel but they wouldnt let me. I'm so glad they didnt let me because I LOVE this product!!!! I've been using MaxClarity religiously for 14 days, and my skin is completely clear. I have a bad habit of picking on my acne, which left scars on my face, so although all of my acne has dried up, I still have some scarring left. My order came with a FREE Body Wash so this is how i use the system: I take a shower in the morning, so while I'm in the shower i wash my FACE with the MaxClarity Foaming Body Wash, then i get out and apply the acne treatment foam. The acne foam tends to dry out my face so i use a moisturizer over it (Loreal Skin Genesis). In the evening, before bed, I wash my face with Loreal Skin Genesis Cleanser (to remove my makeup), then i wash with the foam cleanser, leaving it on for 1-2 minutes. Rinse, Pat Dry. If I have pimples i want to get rid of i SPOT treat them with the acne foam treatment, then i put the foam TONER all over my face. The TONER doesn't dry my skin out. In just 2 weeks, my skin is smooth, soft, less oily, and my pores are smaller. I even got my sister to order it. The secret is to use the product morning and night (even in the afternoon if you get a chance). I agree that the benzoyl peroxide is VERY drying, but that's what gets rid of your acne. Just use a good moisturizer and you will be fine. I'm hoping that if i continue using this product my scars will fade. That's really my only problem now :-D

Pros:

Llght
quick drying
odourless
easy to buy online

Cons:

First couple of weeks redness and dryskin, but thats expected until skin adapts.

The discipline of reminding yourself and applying the treatment.

In some cases you have to be patient with it, it will get worse before it gets better just have to persevere

Right, I have used this product for well over a year now and i remember before starting the treatment i read loads of reviews to get a better idea of the product. Some were very helpful so I guess its only right i do a review also. Just by following the regimen i have managed to clear up 95% of my acne which became severe one stressful year (Stay happy peeps thats the best cheapest cure really) My routine after several months of following the regimen. And allowing the skin to clear is to only apply it at night before bed. My skin still stays clear minus the odd small head which goes away after applying the cream. That way my skin won't get accustomed to the treatment and so far its been working. If i notice more spots i will revert back to the full regimen. Just wish old scars and old redness would heal up quicker...might have to try the aha as i have been reading good things about it here.

Pros:

I USED PERSA GEL 5

- completely cleared acne
- easy to put on
- clear when put on
- works well with moisturizer
- great "spot on" acne treatment

Cons:

Too good to be true

Bottom Line? THIS PRODUCT STOPPED MY ACNE I used to get pimples regularly on my face, chin and sides of my nose. I decided to use the regimen, and bought some products (Persa Gel 5, Neutrogena cleanser and moisturizer below). At first I put it all over my face - and since I have sensitive skin this dried out and caused redness on my cheeks. I put it on my problem areas only after: forehad, nose area, and chin and it was fine. Over the weeks, i started to get less and less pimples and my skin is completely clear now (except for some scarring left behind). This is also a great "spot on" acne treatment. I once had a pimple that I could feel coming on my forehead, I put a blob of the Persa Gel on it over night, and when I woke up the pimple was gone. It literally works so well - no exaggeration. This is a great product as I feel the 2.5% would be too light, and 10% is too harsh. This product is really amazing, and I recommend it to everyone. My skin is not dried out (and I even only put moisturizer in the morning not in the nights), not red, and it is smooth and pimple free. The moisturizer and cleanser really compliment the Persa Gel because they are light, not harsh, and don't clog up my pores or cause oily skin. 5 STARS!!!!!!! MOISTURIZER: [link removed]

Pros:

clears up skin fast and after first wash you can feel it working!
helps reduce oils if you have oily skin like me
cheap and easy to get
doesnt smell bad
nice lather

Cons:

dries out skin MAJORLY!!
use moisturizer if skin is sensitive to benzyl peroxide!
after awhile stops working as good if washed more than three times a day
makes skin burn easier if in the sun a lot like me and can cause sensitivity
peeling and itching may occur also
DONT OVER USE!!!!

it is a good, cheap, over the counter product to use if you have light, moderate, to moderatly severe acne and are not sensitive to the BP. make sure to use a good moisturizer, such as olay or cetaphil, though, or your face will dry out and peel. i reccoment using the cleansing pads and spot treatment. best of luck to those of you who try this! :-)

Pros:

AMAZING product, superior to ANYTHING on the market! HUGE bottles of all of thier products. All natural ingredients.

Cons:

Haven't found a one!

Ok, so here it goes.... I am 30 years old and didn't have acne until my second child was born, voila... my face looked like weathered and aged during and after that pregnancy. I work for one of the top skincare/makeup companies and had been using their products (and others when I got so fed up with my face that I broke down and tried). My friend, who all of her life has suffered with acne, been on birth control for it, every cream and pill that the derm's have out there, she tried. She found Carly's and insisted that I tried it--- she said that for once in her life she felt like she had her acne under control, not cured, but at a managable state. I'm a skeptic by nature and didn't see trying something that I figured was another gimmick. I finally "caved" and what do you know----- it worked! The first few days, my skin felt refreshed, I had a couple breakouts in the first couple weeks, but Steve said that sometimes that happens (his website under FAQs). 2 weeks to the day, I looked in the mirror and saw clear, radiant skin -Something I hadn't seen since I was 20! I have followed all of Steve's advice (there is tons on his website) and only use mineral makeup along the natural soap and his moisturizer and it's perfect. I have 2 kids and I don't have to spend time on my skin. Wash it twice a day and I'm good. Plus the size of the bottles is ridiculous! The acne treatment should last you 3-4 months but the moisturizer, it would last a year for me since I don't need too much at a time. I started using it on my body as lotion and it's fabulous too. By the way, I tossed all my "shower" products and use the natural soap. I did the same for my children. Why would I put unnecessary chemicals on them when I have natural??? Keep up the good work Steve and your crew and don't ever discontinue!!!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
