Pros:

Not seen any change

Cons:

As many other have said above, acne seems to have got worse when applied on areas that didnt have it. Dried up skin and got red flakey patches on my face.

Wouldn't recommend this product

Pros:

feels good doesnt irritate

Cons:

made acne way worse. made all of my underskin acne turn to big white heads.

the arbonne system is supposed to get worse before it gets better, i dont personally agree with that philosophy because i'm pretty worried about things like scarring. doesnt make a lot of sense. made my skin "The worst its ever been"

Pros:

I love this product. I have used it for about two months and it has kept my skin clear and smooth.

Cons:

It dries out sensitive especially if it is used more than once a day. When it dries out my skin all I do is apply facial moisturizer and I'm good to go.

I totally recommend this product!!!

Pros:

Smells nice

Cons:

Everything!

I have used Proactive for years with great results. When I saw that this was supposedly better than Proactive, I decided to give it a try. I have not broken out this bad in YEARS. I expected to break out at first, while my skin adjusted to the new treatment, however I have used the entire system completely and everday I seem to have a new blemish. I should have known better than to switch from something that was working. I will never switch again!

Pros:

none

Cons:

it doesnt work! ive had and used it for a long time. maybe its because i havent stuck to the regimen and used it every single day because i got lazy... but when i do go back to it and stick with it, there are no results.

it says 100% of ppl will have clear skin the next day. not true. it didnt happen. it doesnt work for my skin at all... and its pricey for such a small tube.

Pros:

This is one of the better face washes that I have used. Sometimes I use the gel, but if you have sensitive skin, you can opt for the cleansing foam. Saying that, LaRoche Posay is gentle overall. And it doesn't dry my skin out!

Cons:

Worked well but after using if for over a year, I think I'm somewhat immune now! Still leaves a nice fresh feeling though.

I'd reccommend anyone to try it!

Pros:

silky, light consistency, very gentle, effective on mild acne

Cons:

doesn't really exfoliate, added scent

It's so gentle that I can't believe the concentration of salycilic acid(2%). It moisturises enough so that I don't need any additional moisturiser. I don't think it works as an exfoliator though. Anyway, it's a great moisturiser for those who have whiteheads or mild inflammatory acne.

Pros:

It got rid of my severe acne, and I have been using it for a long time. Its really helped me.

Cons:

For some reason its stopped working, and it also drys your skin a lot! I have to use super moisturizer after using this product. Ive also become dependent because this is the only thing thats ever worked for me

Good product, but stops working.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
