Good but help
So I recently bought this acne treatment and I'm currently going through the first week. My acne is already definately improving, it is less irritated and a LOT less visible. My only problem is the rest of my face (cheeks, chin) where I don't have much acne but still enough to be using the BP on. At the moment I'm only using the BP once a day and then only a pea size amount like it says in the instructions. But my face is really red, irritated, itchy, very dry, my eyes are puffy, and when I apply the BP or moisturizer my skin burns so much.I know it says in the instructions that during the first week my skin will be "red, irritated, and itches while it adjusts to the treatment", but it also says that some people can be allergic to BP. How should I know whether to keep using the treatment? I know a lot of people went through the same thing, so I don't really want to give it up, but what can I start doing so that my irritation goes away?

I can't say for sure whether or not you're allergic but the first few weeks are really tough. I was surprised by how burnt, red and crispy my skin was. I'd say stick with it, just make sure you're keeping all of the products very far away from your eyes. Good luck!

Be very gentle while you wash your face and while you apply the BP and avoid the eyes area completely otherwise I would say give it time and try to use once a day mostly at night.I hope it works for you.

only treatment that was really worked
I am 16-17 and have very oily and acne prone skin. Ive been using the Dan's Benzoyl peroxide and AHA for about three months now. The benzoyl peroxide is for sure the only thing that has truly worked on my acne. It is not all the way gone but i have noticed that in the recent weeks my pimples go away much faster and are definitely not as frequent. In the fall when I started I had the worst breakout of my life and I had bumps all over my face, around my mouth and cheeks. Now, my skin is incredibly smooth and I have about 2 pimples. I still have a lot of scarring but the AHA is slowly doings its job on that. I have been using Shea moisture Black african soap moisturizer for a few weeks now and i have to say that has also dramatically helped my skin as well. I still have a lot of oil but i go to school not feeling self conscious any more

Part of the line up
Definitely effective when used with other treatments. Nice and cool, cleared up my severe acne.

Really great system
I've used the acne.org regimen for 5 years. I first started having problems with acne when I left for college, at which point I started using proactiv. I have fairly sensitive, combination skin. I'm also very fair so any blemishes or redness are extremely obvious. I mostly deal with chronic dryness around my eyes and oily skin on my forehead, nose, and chin. At first proactiv dried me out to a painful degree, eventually cleared up my skin completely for a few months, and then made my skin insanely oily. I switched to this regimen after doing some research and after the adjustment period, I was really, really happy with it. I can't say that my skin has been completely blemish-free the entire 5 years, but that's also partially a function of what I eat, how hydrated I am, stress, etc. Generally speaking, this has kept my issues in check and completely manageable, with a completely clear face at least 50% of the time (college was a VERY stressful time for me, so bear that in mind). It's really important to understand what kind of skin you have when picking products, and it so happens that benzoyl peroxide is what my skin needs. That may not be true for others so be mindful of what you need before starting this. However, it seems like this system does work for a really broad spectrum of acne issues and skin types. Highly recommend giving it a shot before moving on to more expensive options, and especially for people who have used proactiv and, like myself, learned the hard way that it is way too harsh for your skin.

Hi! I just wanna know wether you only use the basic regimen (cleanser, moisturizer, BP) or you use any other supplies?

just feels good
My moderate acne hasn't cleared up much in the 10 weeks I've been steady on the regimen, but my skin feels healthier and happier. Dryness is a downside, and I tan easier I guess with the moisturizer on just my face and jawline (tanline). Will continue to use and adding in the glycolic acid soon.

Please help
I have been using The Regimen for two weeks now,it work my acne is much better, but i started to feel little burn when I apply the BP and Moisturizer only until it dries. For some issues I cannot buy the jojoba Oil now. I would like some advise of what should I do to reduce the burn? And can I mix the Moisturizer with Olive Oil instead of Jojoba Oil? Before using this product I used to use (Bioderma Sunblock SPF 50+ ), because I live in a very hot country. Can I Continue with it?

Amazing product, shipping not so much
Products are amazing , helps me keep cystic acne at bay to an extent...however the shipping from the US to Malta does NOT take just 6-10 days , it takes around 3 weeks which i find is way too long for the extravagant fee i had to pay for shipping.

Used for 4 Years!!
Time and time again this stuff proves to be the best. I've used this for almost 4 years and occasionally have tried other products (due to running out of this and not ordering on time). I've tried Image skin care which is twice the price and it doesn't hold a candle to the Acne.org treatment. I've struggled with acne for almost 10 years and this is the ONLY product that I've found consistent success with. I'll be a lifetime user (well for as long as my acne last, which hopefully isn't a lifetime lol). It'll cause a lot of dryness at first but power through ! Once you get past that initial dryness it makes your skin beautifully clear!

Cream included!
Pills... not so great for me. That benzoyl cream included is the best ever! Tube is just so little and the only way I can get it is if I order online. So I don't know if it's worth 15 dollars.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
