Pros:

-cleared up my skin after about three months of continued use

Cons:

-expensive
-can look weird on your face when dry, so I only use it at night and switched to something else during the day

If I had to do it over again, I would've passed over this and looked harder for a gel.

Pros:

Exfoliates, clears up acne, keeps skin looking fresh and pretty

Cons:

Somewhat time consuming to wash the RIGHT way - but totally worth it!

I have recently transitioned from moderate/severe teenage acne and oiliness into hormonal "Adult Acne" - AND I have sensitive skin (I'm about to turn 30). I've tried Murad, Proactive, etc., then tried every organic, all natural remedy I could get my hands on. Carley's is the ONLY thing that has kept my skin consistently clear - or as clear as I can expect my skin to be while using birth control and with a tendancy towards cysts. I have started using my clarisonic brush with the soap step in the cleansing, and that has cleared up my skin even more. Bottom line: I've been dealing with acne for almost 20 years, and this is the best product I have ever used!

Pros:

I can't say enough about this product. It clears up my cystic acne.

Cons:

Drying.

After many derm visits, wasting a lot of money, and trying a lot of products, I took a chance ordering this product and it is the only product that has product has cleared cystic acne! I only got cystic acne in my chin, but after using this product, I barely get any. So happy I discovered this product. I've been reading reviews that BP is bad for your skin, but i haven't experienced any discoloration on my eybrows. Only bad this is the dryness, which I'm handing with a good moisturizer.

Product used: The Regimen

Pros:

- EFFECTIVE.
- Viewable, measurable results.
- Worth the dry, red skin, the time, the patience, the effort.
- Effective, this sh*t works, what more can I really say?
- Did I say effective?
- Skin is not dull, but radiant. Don't see why people complain about dull skin :/.
- Products smell and feel nice compared to others.

Cons:

- Expensive shipping.
- I really should stress how horrible the scaly, red, tight, dry, flaky skin is. I understand why people quit early!
- Embarrassing packaging on products haha.

I got this last week. Before I was using cetaphil cleanser, brevoxyl (4% benzoyl peroxide), and a boots extreme dry skin moisturizer. I've been doing the regimen since the 5th of September with those products. It took 2.5 months for my skin to get used to just half the amount that's recommended because of the high percentage benzoyl peroxide, but my skin was 75% clear. Last week I took the plunge and I ordered Dan's products. F**k...F**K. My GOD. In just a WEEK my skin is 99% clear, just a little flaky and red when I put make-up on. I'm so happy. It's not just my skin though. I can see my f**king face completely. I haven't been this pretty in my whole life...or at least I haven't felt this pretty. People are stopping and staring at me in the street. I was approached by a model scout this Saturday. I feel great. I would've paid millions if I had it for this experience, but only paid 50 odd euro and it's truly a miracle. I've had bad skin since I was 12, I'm 19 now, so this means a lot to me. I'm not just gushing, I mean every word. Thanks Dan. Your products are AMAZING. Bring down the shipping prices and I can't wait to see what the Jojoba oil and the AHA cream is like :).

Pros:

Helps
Convincing ingredients

Cons:

Strong smell, gave me head aches
Toner is useless
Not as good as other systems

I used this system for about three months, within the first month my skin was SO clear. But the drying was bad, and since it didn't come with a moisturizer I didn't think it'd be wise to use one, therefore the dryness was bad. Kind of scaly actually. The smell of the cream began to give me headaches, and i believe that toners are useless. :b So i kind of dwindled off this product, and i know that the Regimen will be more effective, so i won't miss it. But those things are personal and might be different for others.

Pros:

-Clears Acne!

Cons:

-usually runs out before you get a new stock

It worked wonderfully for me. I've had acne for four years and this has been the only thing that worked to clear my acne, and today I found out that they're discontinuing it; so I need to find something new and similar QUICK! My regimen was 07. 32. 38.

Pros:

Great application
Effective
Soothing

Cons:

None

Love this. My favorite Bp, and I've tried them ALL. Literally disappears into your skin. So effective. It prevents and clears up acne so fast compared to other types of Bp. The foam is really great. I think it makes it penetrate the skin more, instead of sitting on top of the skin in a gross thick layer. Will last a long time bc you need so little. Got rid of a painful pimple overnight. Less drying for me than gel Bp. I seriously hope they never discontinue this.

Product used: The Regimen

Pros:

Really starting to see results now after about 3 months of regular use. Smooths out complexion, evens out skin tone and unblocks pores

Cons:

Iritates at first, takes time, but be patient!

I am pregnant at the moment and there is nothing I can take for this acne. The AHA and the jojoba oil have really helped me a lot and have balanced the oil production in my skin. Cannot use the benzyl peroxide while pregnant but the AHA has helped immensly. I am looking forward to having this baby and using spiro again in combination with these great products, I am certain my skin will then be clearer than ever!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
