Pros:

It clears up acne so quickly!

Cons:

It can dry skin, and you have to be really religious with this product.

I used this product for about two days and immediately I saw results. I was very satisfied and my skin was really clear. I was confident enough to start taking pictures of myself and go out more -- I wasn't so insecure. The only problem I had was how often you have to use it and you have to be really dedicated to it. Not using it for just a day can cause a lot of problems. The dry skin really wasn't a problem; oil-free moisturizers are a good troubleshooter.

Pros:

It has a nice smell; a lot of product for the price; makes the skin smooth; really does clear up acne; all natural product; great customer service

Cons:

It may take longer than six weeks for your skin to actually stay consistently clear.

The time it took my skin to improve and respond to the treatment did take a little longer than most of those in the reviews I continued to stick it out because of the good reviews. I noticed that my skin really started to be consistent and radiant after about four months of use. Today as I look in the mirror I see how beautiful my skin really is. With or without make up. My daily facial routine is to start the morning washing with the soap and I use the soap and cleanser in the shower each night, just as the instructions stated. I also use the day time moisturizer each morning, and sometimes a little at night. I also use the make up and I love it. I'm in total amazement at how good my skin looks. I wish I had taken before and after pictures for proof. Just give it a chance before giving up. Maybe it will take a full 3- 4 months for your skin to clear up completely, but you will see results long before then. Just give it a fair shot. Those break outs mean it is working!

Pros:

Works great!! Goes on clear, no fragrance. You get a lot for the price.

Cons:

Nothing really.

I've been using Dan's BP treatment since when he first started with the blue tubes. I had severe acne during high school and calmed down a bit after taking Accutane. Dan's BP was the only thing that made my face completely clear. I tried Murad and Proactiv and those didn't help my skin at all, I was still breaking out. You will have to put it on twice a day if you want to maintain a clear face because sometimes I miss a few days and I start breaking out again. It doesn't dry my face, maybe because I have oily skin. I don't usually put on a moisturizer either. One last thing, for those of you who converted from tube to bottle like me, I didn't see much difference between the two. The bottle was fine dispensing the BP, I pretty much had the same control as the tube.

Pros:

seems to work

Cons:

stops working, smells, too much work, rough on skin

I used this for a few years and it stopped working. It is overly commercialized and pays acters but doesn't really work. The scrub may seem good, but is really horrible to do to your skin. AFew months aftering getting stuff with the dermatologist and i am already clearing up

Pros:

it had nice packaging, it was a brand i had heard if and was well known, i got a refund when i took it back

Cons:

it made my skin worse than before, it dried my skin out so i couldnt even cover it up with makeup, it cost more than most suppposed acne solutions

this really didnt work for my skin and i regret buying it as my skin was awful for weeks however it did work for one of my friends so before buying i recommend getting little tester sizes or atleast check you will be able to return it and get a refund if it doesnt work. i just want to say every product is different for everyones skin and even though there are lots of fantastic reviews on here, which is what convinced me to buy it, IT ISNT A MIRACLE CURE ! but then again what product is

Pros:

This product is amazing! Works very well. Brings your confidence up so much. You can't stop touching your face because it is so smooth.

Cons:

It causes irritation in the beginning but if you keep to it the irritation goes away. Your skin just has to adjust because I have very sensitive skin and your skin gets worse before it gets better and when it gets better you will love it. Be patient.

Bottom line is that Proactiv Solution WILL clear your breakouts. If you are going through that stage where your hormones are going crazy than it won't clear you skin entirely but it will certainly help. This is a perfect product. You will notice a difference in just a few days. If you do get Proactiv than you must get the Refining Mask because that is what really helps alot. You will see the size of your breakouts decrease imensily after one night of use.

Pros:

It works very well, and very affordable. And you can pick it up at Wal-Mart!(:

Cons:

It doesn't clear up all of my acne, and the taste of the tablets latley have gotten to be somewhat like a "soured milk" taste to it.

Tryy it!!! It really does work. I've tried everything including Proactiv , and nothing helped. This really does work for me and apparently going by the reviews it does everyone else, too. I'm now ordering the Papaya Kit! (:

Pros:

It dries oily skin and minimizes blemishes

Cons:

It can dry out skin just a bit. Probably best used on moderate acne. It is runny, so one must be prepared to avoid coating the bathroom. Easily manageable, though.

I used this product for about a year and my face was great. I switched accidentally and broke out within two days. I was quite surprised, considering the product I switched to was supposedly better. I'm certainly changing back, ASAP.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
