Amazing Product

Pros:

Clears cystic acne
Leaves Skin Soft

Cons:

Moisturizer makes skin feel greasy

I have suffered from acne since I was 13 (I am now 23). I had tried everything. Every kind of topical cream pills, I even did accutane. While the accutane cleared my skin from cystic acne very quickly, it also gave me depression, stomach problems, and after my treatment was done, the acne came back. I was ready to give up when I stumbled upon this site. I was skeptical at first, like I was with all other treatments, especially knowing that accutane had failed. I didn't have much faith that this would work but boy was I wrong!! I bought the treatment, moisturizer, AHA+ and jojoba oil. (I WAS DESPERATE) My skin immediately cleared. I went from having at least 5 cystic zits on my jaw line, to ALMOST NEVER breaking out. My skin looks amazing, I could not be happier. I am concerned that my skin will grow accustomed to the treatment and that the acne will eventually come back, but I have been using the treatment for four months now and my skin still feels amazing. The only thing I will say in a not so positive light is that I still feel my face to be very greasy. Especially if I use the moisturizer (which I stopped using for about two months, but have started again only at night). I found that if I put on moisturizer in the morning, my face was shinny and super greasy throughout the day.

Amazing!

Pros:

Clears skin if used correctly twice a day
Doesn't smell
Moisterizer is great

Cons:

Flakiness
Dryness
3 Steps

I used to use Proactiv Solution for six years and it worked for about 3 years and after that it didn't work for me anymore. Then I switched to Skin Id which cleared my skin in less than a week and I loved it! Unfortunately Skin Id got discontinued. Then I was skeptical about the acne.org regimen but was so desperate to find something that worked for me and decided to give it a try. The first month my skin dried and flaked like crazy! I wanted to hide in my room and not go to work nor school. Always hid under make up during those rough days. After a month I noticed a difference in my skin and that gave me hope. I've been using this regimen now for about six months and I would totally recommend it to anyone who has been having acne problem skin. I still get a break out here and there but nothing compared to a face that looked as if someone had smacked me in the face.

Pros:

i didn't have to pay for it but i`ve heard its cheap

Cons:

burning is all i have so far

My mother n law has been trying to get me to use this cream for years she gave me a tube and its been in my bathroom for months. Well today I finally used it I have no results yet; but I hope this burning sensation means it's working and not that it's burning my skin off. More results coming soon.

Why didn't I try this sooner.
I'm 16 and have had bad acne since 6th grade year. Sometimes my acne was so bad it looked like I'd thrown a rock into a hornets' nest, with a professional baseball player's swing. So, lil' 11 year ole me just thought I'd put some concealer on my face, but when that didn't work, I started to feel a little ugly and out of place. Seventh grade rolled around and my confidence had plummeted. I hated going out into public, or to a friend's house. I didn't even feel comfortable in taking the trash down for fear that the neighbors would scream in panic and call Homeland Security! By 8th grade, I had tried so many expensive, in-expensive, rough scrub, soft scrub, oil-free cleanser, oily-cleanser, logical and not-so-logical ingredient products, I was embarrassed to keep count. I had watched YouTube videos and read reviews, and done some very thorough research. Ninth grade came and went, 10th grade following close behind. Beginning of 11th grade I was still an un-happy but hopeful bee-hive. Then one day I was watching a You-Tuber, who was 3 to 4 years older than me, and she had finally found a happy ending for her skin. Her solution was '˜The Regimen.' At first I didn't believe it. I doubted the products power. I had tried so many things, I thought, why would this work? Not even magic in a bottle could cure this mess! But, with the last of my ragged hope, I ordered it anyway. Best decision of my life! Within a week my skin looked airbrushed! It was smooth, clean and cool. I've been using this product for 3 months now and my skin (not to mention me) has been the healthiest it has ever been. The red, irritated inflammation has vanished. I've never felt so beautiful!

The only product that works on my acne!

Pros:

very effective if you follow the regimen
doesn't excessively dry out skin like PanOxyl

Cons:

can stain sheets and towels if not careful
have to use it every single day for best results

I thought this benzoyl peroxide was too good to be true, but it works! The thing is you have to be consistent (use it every day) and gentle when applying it for the best results. You also have to moisturize afterwards or the drying will irritate your skin. Basically, I just followed the regimen and it worked like a miracle. I've been using it for two years with stunning results. I have had acne vulgaris since I was 9, tried all kinds of things like PanOxyl and Clindamyacin and all kinds of harsh cleansers that dried out my skin too much and moisturizers that clogged my pores. Sometimes they would help a little bit but they weren't very effective overall. That's until I started using the regimen and it cleared up my skin completely. It changed my life, as silly as that sounds, but it's true.

I tried this system twice & years apart & both times I was dissapointed
I've tried this system twice, both times for months or until I had used the all the product. The first time I was about 22 dealing with acne. Never saw any improvemnt after months so I moved on. The second time I tried (last year) at 30 years old my acne was pretty much under control, little breakouts. This time my skin was healing from a horrible skin picking faze that I'm still struggling with but their cleanser felt like it was just causing tiny tears in my skin. The blemish treament has a horrible smell and make my skin greasy and thats it. I saw absolutely no improvement. The blemish control would actually make me feel like I needed to wipe or rinse my face off. The green Tea moiturizer would create those little white balls like I applied too much but I didnt, so that was irritating. The body did nothing as well but gave a fresh pleasant smell. I liked the way it felt...tingly at first. It works wonders for some but didn't for me both times.

Proactiv ruined me

Cons:

Everything

I always had clear skin throughout middle school, I would get maybe a couple pimples before my time of the month which I got in 6th grade but besides that I had pretty good skin. Freshman year I started to get a little acne which wasn't bad still it was basically the same I had in middle school but I wanted to have really good skin so I tried proactiv seeing all the good results people got on tv, this product honestly ruined my life. It GAVE me pimples and left my skin crusty dry and hurt. Maybe it works for others but it deffinetly did not work for me. I hated this product and it took away my confidence

Waste of money!!

Cons:

Irritated my skin
Poor customer service
Expensive for such little product

First off, you pay way to much for tiny little bottles of product. Ridiculous. Second, it made my skin irritated and BURN. The smell is nasty, has harsh chemicals in it, and is all around a terrible product line. After my face was red and burning for 6 HOURS I made the decision to stop using it. Customer support also sucks.. I have emailed them twice and it takes them days to reply. All I wanted was to cancel my account and automated shipping and they told me to call them. Just about fed up and they will probably be getting a nasty phone call from me. Basically, don't waste your money. There are so many better skincare lines out there that are cheaper and don't rip you off. Rant over now. :)

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
