Not much difference.. Eyelids swelled up?

Pros:

Got rid of acne fast
Affordable

Cons:

Made my eyelids swell up?
Sometimes left a white, dry residue

At first when I got this, it worked wonders. Most of my acne had disappeared. However, when I have put this on my acne before bed, I would wake up and my eyelids would be swollen? This had happened about 4 times, and I have stopped using it, and my eyelids are now fine. Maybe I'm allergic to something in it? I'm not sure, but overall a good product. Just be cautious.

STAY AWAY

Pros:

Clears face

Cons:

CREATES more acne after stopping
Expensive
Harsh on anyone's skin

Stay away from proactiv if you do not need it! I used to use it and yes, it worked for a while but when I realized how harsh it was for my skin and found out about all the chemicals in it, I stopped using it. I had decent skin before but after? I started to get little bumps on my forehead, than on my cheeks than my entire face was covered with white heads. Than the big welts of acne started. I have spent so much money on trying to fix my face because of it. Proactiv is good for SHORT TERM use. A month maximum, and only if you have very bad acne. Than get off of it. It's honestly not worth it.

Love it

Pros:

Goes on smoothly
It works
No residue or white blotches

Cons:

Bleaches fabric/hair
not found online

I have been using this for 6 months and its the only thing that has worked for me. Previously was on minocycline for 2 years, tazorac, benzaclin, epiduo differin and clyndomycin etc. Decided to give it a try when the new year started, it is june now and I have the cleared skin since it all started. I bought the whole kit at first, but then decided the treatment is the most important part. It goes on nicely, you don't really need to use quite as much as it recommends, I have been using 1 finger length morning and night at it works well for me. Seriously thy this, give it a good 2-3 month and you should see significant improvement. My sis loves it too!!

Pros:

Improves skin tone
Shortens breakouts
Makes your skin healthy and soft

Cons:

Slight burning sometimes
Can cause flaking

I've used a ton of different products for my skin, and have tried something from almost every drugstore brand, as well as Retin-A, which irritated my non-sensitive skin so much. I love this system, and even though I still see spots, the life of each spot is a lot shorter than without this cleanser. If you're having trouble with flakiness, I'd highly recommend using the Seven Day Scrub cream once a day or every other day too.

Pros:

Lasts a long time
All natural
Cleans makeup off

Cons:

Does not prevent breakouts
Not the best texture...

Based on some reviews I saw, I was thinking this was going to be my miracle face wash. Being a teen, I'm usually cheap and spend around 10 dollars for a face wash, but I figured this would be well worth the extra money. After using this product for months and months, on and off, It left my face feeling fresh and clean, but doesn't seem to prevent breakouts. Not recommended because the reviews lead me to think this product is amazing, when really it just cleaned my face like any other face wash I've used.

Pros:

Good result
Price is okay
like the liquid form

This is the best product ever. I highly recommend for everyone. As soon as I started using it, I could see the result of it. It would peels your face a little bit, but it is worth it the result.

Pros:

none!

Cons:

expensive
ineffective

Proactiv and any of its knock offs do not work. Try zapzyt with moisterizer, its 1/4 of the cost and works in a week, where as you could spend $40 a month on proactiv and never really see results.

Pros:

Works on speeding acne up

Cons:

Hard to wash off gently
Itches or stings slightly upon application

I use this on giant cysts to get them to come to a head faster over night. Every pimple that I've put this on has come to a head faster. It does not make them disappear overnight.

Pros:

Inexpensive
Uses multiple ingredients
Gentle, yet highly effective
Easy to use

Cons:

Somewhat drying, but not too bad

This is one of the first products in YEARS that has dramatically improved my skin. I have been struggling with moderate acne for several years now. My most recent attempt at clearing it was using The Regimen (benzoyl peroxide treatment). I found that this method did not work for me, even when following it correctly. I think the overuse of lotion is what didn't work for me. It never allowed my skin to completely flake off and renew itself. However, the Acne Free system is wonderful.

Pros:

-Almost completely fixed my acne
-Once it dries on my face it is basically invisible, so I don't worry about being seen with the medication on my face
-Extremely good price for Benzoyl Peroxide

Cons:

-Dried out my skin initially (but after a few weeks my skin got used to it and the dryness stopped)
-Causes a feeling of dryness in my eyes the next morning when I apply the product to skin on my upper cheeks overnight
-Can cause bleaching if it gets on clothes (some of my t-shirts have some fading around the neckline from the product rubbing onto them)

I struggled with acne for many years and tried many different products. This is the only product that has been able to consistently control my acne to what is usually an unnoticeable level. I have been using the product for over a year and will continue to do so. Daniel Kern is a personal hero to me for creating this product.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
