Pros:

Redness in my skin went away

Cons:

doubled the amount of pimples
dry skin

this product is OK, ive been on it for 2-3 weeks now and im not sure how i feel about it, i will probably get another shipment delivered, as i have a very red face ( cheeks and nose) this took that away. i dont have ALOT of pimples but i did get a few and then a few more around that time of month, but from when i started using proactive ive had 10 more pimples ontop of the original ones. im hoping after another 2-3 weeks it might subside if not then i wont be continuing to use this product my skin is dryer but im guessing because my face is " getting use to" the product and its sucking up all the bad stuff on my face. you have to SLAP on the mouisterizer. over all GREAT! on reducing redness AWFUL! so far on reducing pimples.

Pros:

clears up ski

Cons:

Expensive, the company will rip you of your money and will scam you. Also, they will send you packages once you have canceled your account. I have had to call back 4 times now to get my orders properly canceled. You will not receive your money back for packages for a month or so. Do not buy this product through the company. YOU WILL REGRET IT. Packages you did not order must be sent back shipping paid by you.Buy it in a store, a stand at the mall, or elsewhere. Dealing with this company=nightmar

good product, terrible company. Rating the customer service of the company would be a 1 out of 10.. And I am being generous with the 1.

Pros:

Clears acne
Prevents new acne
Gives you a clean feeling
Does actually shrink pores

Cons:

TOO drying
Not for everyday use
Smell like chemical

I've been suffering from acne for half a year now ( I'm 18 ) My skin used to look perfect and acne-free until after a horrible day it broke out like crazy. My parents, my friends and even my teachers they told me that my face was a mess. Can you imagine how sad it was. I felt devastated, I stopped going out and spent most of my time sitting alone at home. My mom took me to a hospital, then a derm, but nothing seemed to work. My aunt, she sent me the Proactiv Kit but at first I didn't dare to use because of all the negative comments on the internet. However, as I was so desperate and I realized that I had nothing to lose, I finally decided to try Proactiv the 3-step system. And it works ! I know it doesn't work for everyone but I'm glad it works for me. The cleanser was too drying at first, and it left my face crazily red for 3 days but acne was gone ! So, I decided that I couldn't use it everyday, so I switched to Cetaphil. However, as you all know Cetaphil is mild and gentle and to be honest it doesn't really cleanse the skin very well. So every 2 days I use Proactiv cleanser to exfoliate and prevent new acne and then switch back to Cetaphil. Just so you know, acne doesn't disappear in just one night so you have to be persistent and believe that you can CONTROL your acne. Do not let it control your life. Everyone deserves clear skin!!

Pros:

This stuff works great for my skin, keeps break outs to a minimum and smooths out my skin.

Cons:

Haven't found any yet. The price is a little high, but one bottle will last me a year+, so I think it's worth it.

This may not work for you, as everyone has different skin! But this works for me. And no, I'm not being paid by Carley's.B

Pros:

None whatsoever... I guess perhaps that they have good customer service and a money back guarantee but seeing as what this did to my face I don't think that counts for much

Cons:

Broke me out HORRIFICALLY, can't stress how bad it has made my skin. Anyone thinking of ordering this, think again. Please don't risk your skin with this, it is incredibly pore clogging and caused cystic acne all over my chin and lower face.

I used this product for about 2 months because I bought into all of the hype and reviews. I can now honestly say that this has been one of the biggest mistakes of my life. Not only did it give me the worst break out of my entire life, even now that I have stopped using this product, my skin is still breaking out terribly. In retrospect I know I should have stopped using this as soon as it started breaking me out but I was hoping it was just my skin purging. I finally came to my senses and quit using this, but by then the damage was done. I will have scars from using this product for a long time.

Pros:

- allows you to fill out a survey to accurately match your skin type
- leaves skin soft
- smells good

Cons:

- expensive for what it does
- not that effective
- three products is a lot to use when getting ready in the morning

I get random breakouts due to stress, so I took the survey for Skin ID. My numbers are 07, 32, 72. First of all, the cleanser/mask ruined my towels, which, to be honest, is the main reason I cancelled this product. But also because, if a product ruins my towels, I expect it to actually help my breakouts! It left my skin extremely soft, but any breakouts I have take forever to go away when I use this product, even with the spot treatment (my "free gift"). It doesn't prevent any breakouts, as I've gotten the same amount as I did before I started using this product. This product is also very expensive: I searched for the perfect skin treatment using Google, and I found a website that gave me cheaper solutions that I could buy at a drug store. And guess what, it actually worked - and didn't ruin my towels!

Pros:

Easy to use

Cons:

Over-drying
Smells bad
Made acne worse
Make skin red

I've been using it for almost two weeks. It dried out my skin way too much. I had to apply a grip-load of moisturizer and my skin was still dry. It made my acne worse. I have pimples on my cheeks now. My skin is also always red now. I would not recommend buying it.

Cons:

-as I used it for a longer period of time it didn't work as well

It worked great when I started using it, the first week my skin was farely good. As I used it for a longer period of time my skin has started to adapt and I am breaking out quite a bit now!

Pros:

Works to reduce acne

Cons:

Unnecessarily drying
Bleaches hair badly
Doesn't absorb well into skin and sits on the surface

I've used this BP and others for well over a year now. For the past four months I've solely been using this benzoyl peroxide and it did work in overcoming acne albeit slowly. However, it would leave my skin VERY dry and red and I found myself utterly devastated by the sight of my own skin. Even after several months I couldn't reduce my acne to below 4 or 5 active spots (with a heck of a lot of red marks). I wanted to persevere with the regimen so I switched to Daniel Kern's BP and wow - what a difference. I didn't realise until this point how extremely drying the panoxyl made my skin in comparison to a superior BP. My self-esteem shot up as (even though I still had acne) my skin looked 100% healthier. I've only been on the DK BP a total of 4 days but the improvement to my skin is significant and my acne is clearing FAST. Would NOT recommend Panoxyl, it's just a shame that Daniel Kern's BP is so expensive to get ahold of in the UK.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
