Pros:

Will eventually work (the speed in which you'll see the results will vary depnding on the person)
Doesn't create any new major/noticeable skin troubles (acne, rashes etc.)

Cons:

Need to be used consistently for maximum effect
Sometimes dries the skin (if applied too much at once)
Redness on occasion

It's not bad, it'll eventually work (it's not a scam or anything like that) it's good for treating acne especially user will occasionally experience redness as well as dryness/flaking doesnt smell bad to me

Pros:

gentle, easy to use, affordable

Cons:

does not work rapidly

Generally, it does work- maybe not rapidly, but when I put this on a zit before I went to bed, the size of that zit was reduced

Pros:

Works really well, made my skin alot less red, reduced big inflammed zits, far less breakouts, made my skin alot less oily thoughout the entire day not just a hour or two after my regimen was done.

Cons:

Kinda expensive, comes in a small tube and runs out quickly. Does cause my skin to become red if i use to much and sometimes peeling. and had to keep buying new tubes once a week.

Really effective against acne, but not big enough tube for the price paid.

Pros:

After using this product for a few days, my skin had more of a healthy glow.

Cons:

The night creme was way too intense and overdried my skin and overall, my acne did not decrease and the dryness, redness, and peeling did.

By the time i finished the entire package, my skin was just as bad if not worse than before.

Pros:

My skin cleared up my skin fast! The benzoyl peroxide works fantastic! The mousturizer leaves skin smooth and radiant!

Cons:

Cleanser is not so powerful but it's decent.

My skin cleared up about 50 percent or maybe more after one day!!! It was amazing! It was mainly the 2.5% benzoyl peroxide that I left on for the over night treatment that worked. The cleanser didn't cleanse so well so I used something with 2% salicylic acid instead of 1.5% Since today is the second day I've used it I absolutely can't wait 'till tomorrow morning to see how much more my face has cleared up Oh not to forget but I really prayed to God to help me get my face cleared. So I'm also thanking God for answering my prayers ((:

Pros:

*Smells great
*Has not burned my skin
*Has cleared pretty well all my pimple after one day of use

Cons:

*I do think it is a little pricey and plan on getting it at one of the department store stalls instead of shipping.
*It does discolor you towels etc so FOLLOW the INSTRUCTIONS and pat your face dry with paper towel before using your good towels.

I had tiny pimples all over my face which I had been treating with another benzoyl peroxide based product of 5% (rather than the 2.5% that proactive uses). That never did anything to my skin and I used it religiously. I did the 3 day patch test as stated needs to be done and then I used the product for the first time yesterday. I applied once in the morning and once at night and this morning my skin is clear. I will review again in about a month to see what the difference is. So far so good.

Pros:

simple to use, and I like the feeling of the grainy scrub.

Cons:

Way too expensive, and it seems like a lot of the ingredients are not specific to fighting acne. The toner and the lotion thing also make my face feel greasy.

This didn't really make a change in my acne after I switched from another system. I had heard really good things about the "refining mask," which did not work the same way for me. It also smells horrible. In the end, the whole system is basically just more crap to put on your face, and definitely not worth the price.

Pros:

It glides over my skin evenly.
Works FAST! FAST! FAST!
Durable.

Cons:

None so far, except
Tip: put on around skin, QUICKLY take Q-tip and GET. IT. OFF. surrounding areas or it will dry them out. Only leave on pimple (:
works perfectly if you follow that.

I love this! I just recently started using it (an hour ago) and it's already working really well, one of my bothersome pimples is already gone!!! I LOVE this product! :D

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
