Pros:

price

Cons:

scent

i've suffered with acne for years due to my hormone imbalance, have tried everything from birth control pills to proactive, nothing worked as well as this. i've stuck to neutrogena for almost a year now because the results are great. It controls new breakouts and cleared up the existing ones. I also noticed my face is not as oily as it was before using this product. I would definitely recommend you give this a try...for the price its definitely worth it!

Pros:

I'd tried everything before proactiv without results. I didn't believe there would be the quick fix, but for me, proactiv works 100% and I'm delighted. No spots since the second week of using proactiv - over a year now. Worth every cent.

Cons:

I use it religiously twice a day so no cons around it's effectiveness. However, learnt the hard way - don't get it on your clothes (especially cheap material as it will be ruined). Use white towels only.

Without exaggeration, it's been the best find for me in terms of health and beauty. I read all the reviews before I decided to buy it and it might not work for everyone but it's made a huge difference to me. Honestly, my only regret is that I didn't give it a go 14 years ago when I first started getting acne. Why did I put up with it for so long unnecessarily?!

Pros:

It works better than anything! I use it a lot, but I sometimes go off it and try something else, but I always go back to this! And it works fast!

Cons:

It makes your skin a bit red, but if you use moisterizer you should be fine.

I've tried almost everything to get rid of my acne, but nothing has worked as well as this. I love it! It works fast and it's not that expensive! The only thing I have a problem with is that it comes in a tube, so it's hard to squeeze out the last bit of it

Pros:

Actually works

Cons:

Can be drying and irritating at the beginning of regimen use

Everyone has to try this product (on Dan's Regimen) at least once before they try anything else. I have literally tried EVERYTHING, even Benzoyl Peroxide, but not using this regimen. You need to give it time to work. I think that the only way that it will not work for someone is if they do not stick with it long enough. I really didn't see significant results until almost 3 months after I started! Stay with the regimen and it will be worth it! :)

Pros:

Effective, inexpensive

Cons:

none

Have been using this product for over 7 years and love it! All other benzoyl peroxide brands out there feel very greasy to me. This one is very good at absorbing oil and controlling oily skin. I am 54--yes 54--and still battling extremely oily skin. Even used Accutane 20 years ago. I hope Wal-Mart gets this product back on their shelves SOON! I hate having to pay triple the price for similar products that don't work nearly as well and make my skin even greasier! Their Equate brand is truly a great product.

Pros:

Works SO FAST, completely dries up oily skin

Cons:

Sometimes a little too dry, BP feels like a mask until you get some moisturizer on there.

After browsing Acne.org, I decided I wanted to try the Regimen *without* investing in pricey BP that had to be ordered online, and the On-the-Spot cream didn't look very good either. This kit offers a 2.5% BP "lotion" as part of the set, so I tried it. Note that I HAVE NOT used the Cleanser, and only used the lotion for a day before picking up an Olay lotion because I thought it might moisturize better. I have been using a gentle med-free cleanser, applying the BP twice daily, and following with moisturizer as per the Regimen. So far: Very quick results in a day or two! I am still getting a few pimples, but they fade much quicker and bother me less than previously. Time will tell if the effectiveness holds out, but I am hopeful so far. The BP keeps my skin dry all day without the oily build-up I have always had in the past. I am very satisfied!

Pros:

Gets the job done but takes a while.

Cons:

In the begining leaves skin very flakey and if it doesnt like you it will give you a reaction

Well, it's good i use it daily but it's something that if you're looking for an overnight miricle it may or may not work. For the first month or so it makes your skin very sensitive dry flakey and red. But it works on pimples that spring up it's okay. NEVER pick at a pimple and then use this or put it on an open pimple. It will sting. A lot. A lot a lot a lot. I use it and hope for the best.

This product is very cheap. It just appeared on shelves here. It was only $2, so I bought a bottle. It worked amazingly. A week later I went back and stocked up on more.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
