Pros:

Easy to use
Skin feels clean
Awesome customer service, really fast and friendly.
Free samples :D
Freakin WORKS.

Cons:

Treatment can be somewhat watery and runny.
Need to have fresh face towels prepared at all times, thought that's not a huge problem.

Since puberty, I've had acne. I was only nearly completely clear when using stronger stuff, like glycolic acid and benzoyl peroxide which dried out my face and made it feel like a desert. I started to worry that my skin was only good for now because of the constant chemical exfoliation and that I would have to depend on it to have nice skin. I didn't want that sort of dependency, especially since I'm only 15 so I stopped. Lo and behold, my acne came back worse than before. The positive reviews combined with mild desperation prompted me to get the Kick *ss version of the treatment. I'm not lying when I say that my skin looked and felt better from the first time of using this. Seriously. It's been a week now and I'm seeing results and I'm so so happy. I got two of those painful bumps under the skin that usually takes a while to come out, but when I use this it just sorts of dies down and disappear. My skin is clearing up and scars are fading. I've only been using this for a week so I can't wait to see what happens after a few months.

Pros:

It works. Doesnt dry out my skin as long as i use it properly (all 3 steps).
one order can last me two months, so it is totally worth it.
I'm mid 20s, male, mixed race and have done one round of acutane which helped, but i still had bouts of moderate acne.

Cons:

a little pricey, but not compared to trying all sorts of things in desperation. Just get this and you won't keep wasting time and money on anything else. I'm careful in application to make it last, but one order goes about 2 months, using 3 times a day. I actually just use the 90 Noxema pads, drain out the treatment, and replace it with the acnefree green juice stuff, which makes it last longer and works better and faster than a cotton ball.

It works and is working for me. I don't get online to review ANYTHING cause i have more important things to do, but as a mid 20s male, i figured i'd log on to here and give ACNEfree a big two thumbs up. i've tried all the products from this site and they work to some extent, but honestly, acnefree, used regularly, almost knocked out my adult acne totally. i'm very pleased with it and am pretty much done trying to find the "perfect combo" for moderate acne. this is it. I've tried all the brands, even from Dan (no offense Dan), and also home remedy crap like oils, green tea, etc. There is a reason so many people use this--it really does work. Should have just started buying it a long time ago, might have got a few more ladies sooner haha.

Pros:

Effectively treats spots

Cons:

Dries out skin

Tried many spot treatments- this is by far the most effective for me. Dries out skin, but nothing a bit of moisturiser can't fix! :)

Pros:

It clears up spots quite quick

Cons:

skin very red where used
skin feels tight and dry

I am 21 and have recently came out in chin acne, which I have never had before. I usually get the odd few spots around 'Time of the month' as you can imagine, I have been stressing out about it, which has not helped! I have a very healthy balanced diet, so I just do not know where its came from. Anyway my mum works in Boots the Chemist, so she brought home Panoxyl 2.5 gel, and I have started using it 3 days ago. It has cleared my spots quite a bit, but as its only on my chin and around my mouth, this skin is very red and tight, it does feel dry but I have not had any flaking or 'peeling' as people are saying?? Can someone tell me if this is yet to come? I have been using it twice a day - Once at night, then once dried using Vitamin E body shop moisturiser, and then in the morning, and once dried, the moisturiser again, then make up. It almost feels like I have a red film over the spots, and I wonder when this goes away?

Pros:

Overall worked good
No drying out of skin
Combo. of BP and Salicylic acid is great for treatment

Cons:

The Cans!
would give a four rating except for cans...

My teenage son used this product. Nothings a miracle, but he did have very good improvement. Only problem is the cans!! The cans delivery system is kind of like whip cream cans. I would say with every can he had that about 1/4 was left because the can was out of pressure. Customer service was good and sent a new can for free, but again did the same. Also, the cleanser runs out first before other products. I would have otherwise recommended this, except for cans, and at the price, you don't want to waste or run out. The combo of BP and Syslycic acid is good for acne. I think we will try Acnefree for Sensitive Skin. Trying to get him to try Zinc but he is not a good pill swallower. Also heard about lavender oil on this sight(reviews) May have him try that....

Pros:

CLEARS BACK ACNE FAST!!

Cons:

Didn't see any results on my face

I have had bad back acne since puberty hit. I am now 23 and for the first time my back is cleared up! I have tried every possible acne soap on the market and decided one day to pick up the Oxy 10%BP....Within 3 days my back acne was almost clear. It helped clear up the light red scars I also had on my back from old pimples. It is a little drying..not the the point where your back is flaking but just a little more rough than other skin on the body. Either way GIVE IT A TRY!!! I stopped using it for a week since I ran out and my acne reappeared...once I used it again...GONE! The white liquid soup seems a bit watery and not think like other soaps but don't let that fool you.

Pros:

I think it is a great product to use long term and I do think it helped keep my acne under control even when other products did not work.

Cons:

Over time I think my skin became resistant and it stopped working for me. The peroxide also bleaches clothing and when you stop using it even for a short period of time you have really severe break outs that last a while.

A great product when it was still effective for me, minus the benozyl peroxide bleaching my clothes and having severe break outs when I stopped using it.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
