Pros:

i love this product! I am a 54 year old woman who has had problems with bumps and breakouts my whole life, and I discovered this product about 10 years ago, and i now have skin worthy of an ivory soap girl! An old girl, yeah, but clear and healthy. i think i've finally gotten my daughters to give up all the packaged chemically infused products and switch...a VERY smart move!

Cons:

None...although I didn't care for the shampoo.

A simple, healthy alternative to the heavily marketed "cures" out there...and this one works! And besides, it feels good to support a truly "home grown" business!

Pros:

There are no pros to this product...

Cons:

I hate hate hate proactiv . It made my acne worst I developed cystic acne after using it.i have about 3 bumps on my face so i used their refining mask to help clear it. The next day I got a lot of cystic acne forming. It made my skin worst and it was so stupid of me to ever try this. False advertisement !

Never waste your money on proactiv.

Pros:

Goes on clear and easy
Works fast
Not overly drying after a few weeks
No scent
Absorbs well

Cons:

None so far

Best bp ever. Not a cream so it is way easy to apply and it absorbs into your skin very well. It is clear and does not have a scent. Doesn't leave white residue. Works just as well if not better than any other bp that is 10% but is way less drying. No joke, this is the best bp available. And the huge bottle is awesome.

Pros:

-keeping my face clear
-the way your face feels after using it (its like a good tight feeling that is very refreshing)
-easy to find in stores
-reduces my oiliness

Cons:

-used to make my face dry but i just used a moisturizer and it went away

I used to have HORRIBLE acne when i was in middle school/first year of high school. I have gone through DOZENS of acne products and none have seemed to work as well as this does! I still have some pimples show up every once in awhile, but i just dab a little on it while i sleep and the next morning it has shrunk! I have very oily skin, i use it twice everyday and i love this (:

Pros:

good for people with mild to moderately severe acne, helps control oily skin, doesn't dry you out

Cons:

moderately expensive, the toner runs out really fast, the refining mask isn't the 'magic' everyone makes it out to be, does not help very much with cystic acne

i never have had very bad skin, just the odd zit here and there, but because i'm very pale, the scars were SUPER visible, so i don't want ANY zits ever! in high school i started getting a few zits on my forehead consistently because i have bangs and store brands wouldn't work. a combination of hormonal birth control and proactiv has made my skin FLAWLESS. i went off the HBC about three months ago and i was scared that i would get acne again. my skin has been a bit more oily, but i haven't seen any zits for about two years now. i would recommend it to people whose acne isn't especially severe because those cases should be left to a dermatologist, but if your acne isn't terrible and you're willing to pay for it and keep up your routine and be really vigilant, it will be a lifesaver.

Pros:

Cost effective acne solution that really works!

Cons:

None

I have been purchasing the Kick Ass for severe acne for a couple of years now. It is the ONLY acne product that has handled my lifelong acne. I love how I feel '˜clean & fresh' after I use it. This product along with the natural soap are amazing!!!! Their customer service is second to none. Every time I order I am still astounded at how quickly my order arrives. The generous size samples they always include have been the perfect size to take with me when I travel. Thank you for these outstanding products. Keep up the good work.

Pros:

Easy
Tasteless
Works for hormonal and zits caused by chocolate

Cons:

I didn't purge but all small pimples became big ones but no new acne at all since starting

Cannot believe my acne was cured for less then 10 bucks. Look I've done a ton of research and I believe this product will work for you if you test positive for the spit test. Go to candida spit test on Google and if you have positive symptoms this product will work for you I'm sure of it. but if you just had a baby or something and that's why you have acne then probably not. BTW I only have one pimple and its only been a week, of course try to eat as healthy as you can and add Apple cider vinegar to your diet. God bless you all and keep praying, I cant stress the power of jesus :)

Pros:

none for me but others claim it works

Cons:

extremely dry skin
red marks
flakyness
your face will hurt
nothing happens

well i bought proactive because my class mates claimed that it would work wonders in three weeks,, i am very patient but not when my face is in pain,,, this regimen was so harsh ,,in five uses my skin was completely flaky and irritated i also felt like i could not smile with out being in pain..i do want to get rid of my acne but i felt that i would rather do it the long less painful more gentlle way rather then shredding my face,, at one point my face was so dry that when i rubbed my nose against my black sweater it left a white line which im guessing was my skin ,,i got creeped out when i realized my face could substitute for chalk and discontinued using it.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
