Pros:

Reduced Acne within a few weeks
Cheap
Seemingly effective

Cons:

Cream makes my eyes water and burn even when I put it no where close to my eyes

Not sure if this was the caused but a condition developed soon after

I used this product a while back and was very happy with how quickly and effectively it cleared my skin up. I know that this product says there are no side effects...but shortly after I began to develop dark course hair growth on the face which I now must wax and tweeze regularly. I did not have this problem prior to these pills. I don't know if it was coincidentally timing or what. I had my hormones checked and everything and they can't find the cause. Has anyone else experienced this as a side effect? I immediately stopped taking it because I didn't want the issue to become worse or more noticeable. I really did like how it kept my skin clear though.

Pros:

cheap, works quickly, helps to reduce any type of acne. is the first spot treatment i found that does what it says :)

Cons:

drys out skin a bit ..but with some moisturiser that's fixed.

i love this product,.i recommend it.it has helped my skin.i saw results like the next day.i have only been using this product a week now.it does make your skin feel dry and it say to use sunscreen sence benzoyl peroxide makes the skin sensitive to the sun. i will continue using this product.i have tried many thingh and they never do what it says it will.Clearzit is not like that though. i use it in the morning and before going to bed. i cleanse with st.ivis green tea cleanser..this cleanser is new to me btw..if u convert the price i paid to US it would be like $2.50. cheap right and it works.

Cons:

Burns and stings when you first apply it but then its fine.

Considering i tried prescribed acne treatments and this was £2.49 over the counter...id say its the best stuff iv ever bloody bought!

Pros:

NONE!!!!

Cons:

Stuff sucks!
They charge you even after you have canceled your "membership"
Doesnt work
makes skin worse

I used it in JR High and it worked for a while, so I gave it another try. They said it would clear you up in 3 weeks all it did in three weeks was made my face look worse instead of small white heads I now have big white heads and more black heads then ever! I have never broken out this bad in my life!! After getting my first shipment I canceled my membership and yet they are still hitting my credit card for $30 a month!!! This stuff is the biggest scam ever do not use it! you would be better off using soap and water then this crap!

Then after i stopped my face got extremly dry and my acne got worse then ever i had to go to the doctor to get a special lotion which cost my parents $90.00 which im still paying off by the way. Then i was pissed i called them and complaned and told them to make sure they never sent proacitv to me ever again. they said ok and hung up. About a month later i came home form school to find a big box of proactiv on my porch. i want inside look in the box to find a recipt for $74.25 i started to cry because that was on my moms credit card and she would be so mad . i told her what happened she got sora mad and paid to ship it back i never got anything else from them after my dad went to complain . Pros:

zero

Cons:

makes skin greasy
not enough toner
turns every little bump and blemish into a huge painful red zit

proactiv blows. don't waste your time or your money. it's almost impossible to cancel, and if you send the products back within the 60 day trial, they're going to tell you they never received it. i fought it and got my money back but it took about 3 months of work to get it. it destroyed my skin and took forever to heal. it deserves zero on the rating scale!

Pros:

Clears Acne
Reduces Size of Pores
Evens Skin Tone
Salicylic Acid helps combat acne scaring and PIH
IT WORKED.

Cons:

Takes a while
requires patience
did not clear my blackheads
SPF lotion made me break out
Dried Skin

IT WORKS. I started using this product in March I think (it's September now) and at first it didn't work very well. I was using the kit as specified and using a clarisonic to cleanse with the cleanser. I discovered that the problem was the SPF in the lotion. The lotion also was not strong enough because this stuff made my skin dry so I switched to Neutrogena Ageless Essentials ® Continuous Hydration Night Cream and that balanced out my skin just fine. My skin improved a boatload but I was still getting a new pimple everyday about 4-5/7 days a week. Then, summer started and I got a little lazy. Somedays I didn't wash my face in the morning and my skin improved! I researched why this may be and discovered that over-cleansing or too much of the Acne lotion could irritate skin. So I tried something new, just to give it a shot. I cut my cleansing back, only using the clarisonic at night and using my hands in the morning. And I started using my acne control lotion only at night. This relaxed my skin. I continued to use the Lotion I purchased as usual and my skin is completely clear, not a breakout in 3 weeks. this system requires dedication but my bottomline reccomendation is: If you have sensitive skin and other products make you break out: Make sure you aren't alergic to SPF If the Lotion's not strong enough, get a new one. (Same brand is best though) Use the Acne Control Lotion once a day at night before moisturizer don't cleanse too much or rigorously. I also switched to Neutrogenas Skin Clearing Makeup (From revlon photo ready) and It hasnt made me break out an inch like revlon used. Sorry this was so lengthy, I just wanted to make sure I reallyyy helped:D TRY IT! :D

Pros:

Does what it is supposed to.

Cons:

Very expensive.
Cream Based.
Small Container

This stuff does the same thing that Dan's BP does but there are some pretty drastic differences. The first being the cost. It is $6 for a .75 ounce tube. Insane considering how much you are supposed to use. The second downside is that it is a cream and not a gel. This makes it sit on top of the skin and made it impractical for anytime other than at night. I used it while I was waiting for Dan's BP to come in the mail and it got my face good and adjusted for Dan's. After trying Dan's BP for just one day I will never go back. There really is no comparison.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
