Pros:

it gets rid of SOME of your pimples

Cons:

it doesn't work in 3 days

I used it and it worked just a little. I got rid of like 2 of my zits, but the rest are still there and I don't have that many. It also took more than three days. buy it if you want.

Pros:

I love Proactiv! I have been using it for about 2 years now. It has cleared up my acne although I do break out around the my period but only 1- pimples, if any. I've had friends recently say "Wow, your skin looks great!"

Cons:

It can be a bit pricey but definatley worth it. I tired Tazoac which was very expensive and extremely toxic and harsh..:(

I use it consistently and i also drink lots of water, eat healthy and exercise.. which i believe all play a role. When i am not eating right or exercising, i do notice a difference in my skin. Drink Water !!! I tried to switch to something more natural but then broke out and went back to proactiv. I highly suggest trying it but you've got to be patient..maybe give it 1 month at least. I saw results immediatley.

Pros:

makes my skin really smooth

Cons:

dehydrates my skin a bit if i dont use a moistuiser

i dont have acne just get a pimple here and there occasionally. it dosnt seem to do nething bad to my skin just helps to maintain it. i dont think it will stop huge pimples from forming however it does prevent small ones and bumps etc. Dont over use it coz like nething else it will overdry your skin but its an acne treatment THEY ALL HAVE A DRYING EFFECT

Pros:

it clears your skin fast, its gentle, it evens the tone of your skin and makes it smooth

Cons:

its expensive, and you're sucked into automatic shipment, the smell is a bit nauseating, customer service and infomercials suck, the BP bleaches my tshirts and eyebrows

if you respond well to benzoyl peroxide, this is for you. if you're sensitive to it, dont buy it. BP is the only thing that clears my skin consistently, and so this kit clears up my skin fast and effectively and leaves me with smooth skin. Another thing to remember - once your skin is clear, this is preventive treatment, which means, if you get lazy and dont use it when you're clear, you'll probably start to break out again. This happened to me many times (when will I learn?) Overall, its a great system and has worked extremely well for me, and is actually the ONLY thing that has worked this well in treating my moderate inflammatory acne. Ive used it on and off for 3 years.

Pros:

It works if you use it consistently.

Cons:

It smells ok, except the refining mask. After you wash it off and apply lotion or cover up, it smells like manuer.

If you start using it, it works only if yoy keep at it strictly and consistently. When you stop, you break out. I got tons of blackheads on top of my forehead and jawline, used clinique and it cleared up finally. I got my usual occasional acne and clogged pores on my nose again, so I gave it another chance. I have a friend who uses it consistently and her skin is baby soft. I am using it again and she told me that the acne will come up after a while, and with continuous use, it will start to clear up becuse it brings everything up to the surface before you notice continuous good skin. If you overdry, use less (once daily, best before bed). Scrub for a min. at least, and apply the lotion. I wonder for those who say it made their skin worse, did you keep using it for at least two weeks or did you stop right away? Because I am at the stage that I have blackheads all over, but I am waiting for the product to bring it up, and then start to keep it clean as long as I stick with it.

I don't know if this stuff will help me,i'm using it for the first time.I've used a dozen of acne products but no long term effect what so ever. For example:Smooderm(aka retin A),Skinoren,Zineryt,Roaccutane,Isotrexin, the best was Roaccutane but the risks are severe because of the intoxication of the whole body with a substance not quite well known&studied.I've read also that acne is caused by the fact that the body isn't able to expell the toxins resulted from the metabolism through liver&bowel, they leave our body through skin. :| Be optimistic,at least this the last thing that's left for me...

Pros:

I like it. I have occasional acne around that time of month. I have had this for about 20 years. I have been using Proactive for over a year and my break-outs are down to a minimal if none at all.

Cons:

I don't like the 3rd step( the repairing lotion). It dries out my face.

I don't think any other product would do this. My face looks better now than in my 20's. I miss days of use, but it doesn't seem to make a difference as long as I use it more often than not. If you compare with other products on the market, I believe it has a fair price.

Pros:

It isn't as expensive as some other acne products.

Cons:

I did not have much acne before, and I decided to get this product to get rid of the pimples I did have. After using it for a week, I got more pimples on my forehead and white bumps on my nose. I'm not even allergic to BP.

It gave me more acne, but who knows? It'll probably work for you. The product promised to make a visible improvement on my skin in 3 days, but it just caused me to have more acne. After I stopped using this product, my acne got better.

Pros:

I love this stuff. Easy to find at local markets. Find it works best for my acne.

I just love it

Pros:

Price

Cons:

Allergic reaction, drying

I had an allergic reaction to the pills and almost threw up and passed out. It was probably the worst pain I have ever been in in my life... ever. However, I think the cream is working pretty well.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
