Pros:

It seems to work well so far.It works better than the wal-mart copy. It's not so harsh and smells a lot better.

Cons:

Their shipping estimate as stated on their site is for shipping to the guthy renker warehouse, not to your door. I paid for rush shipping and 7 days later they emailed me saying it just showed up at the guthy warehouse. They replied to me saying.

I'm done buying from these people. I should know better than to do an autoship plan. I hope it's easier to get out of the deal than it was to get my second shipment of product. I like to be in charge of my credit card and I like to buy a product when I choose not when Guthy Renker decides to charge me for more weather I want it then or not. I'm sure it keeps their overhead down and when you have a celebrity list like theirs to pay for I guess they need to charge somebody for it. I'll try Murad next I think but I'm done with Guthy Renker; to bad too, we actually like the Proactiv product.

Pros:

It smells ok.

Cons:

Horrible for sensitve skin. Adverse side effects. Expensive. Packaging makes it hard to get the right amt of product. Can bleach hair and clothing.

This product was horrible for my skin. I got huge zits with pus in them and several smaller zits as well. It irritated my skin and made it turn red. I later discovered that I have sensitve skin. This product is NOT good for that. I always had a hard time getting the "right" amount of stuff - I either get too much or too litte. May work for others but not for me. DO NOT use this product if you are allergic to benzoyl peroxide or have sensitive skin!!!! Way too expensive - waste of my time and my money.

Pros:

cleared up persistent acne better than anything ive used before, company seems genuinely interested in helping, products are nice to use

Cons:

quite pricey (more so for me cause i have to have it sent from the US) toner can be a bit drying. didnt reduce oily skin like i hoped

i had to hang on with product, in fact i almost gave up on it after a month and a half....but im glad i stuck with it, skin is so much better. the kit is only supposed to last a month but ive been using the same bottle of face wash and clearogen lotion for almost 4 months now (get through the toner alot faster tho) which kind of balances out the initial high cost. the big selling point of this product is that it is supposed to inhibit DHT and so reduce sebum production while also carrying ingredients that fight acne (B.P, salycilic acid). it didnt affect my oily skin at all (boo) but did eventually clear up my acne (yay)

Pros:

Price, Amount, Goes on Clear, Light weight, Works Fast

Cons:

Shipping

After a week of use I cannot believe how smooth and clear my face is. I've had mild acne for about 2 years now with it getting out of control two summers in a row. I almost bought proactive when I was referred to this site. I immediately changed the way I washed my face and used Murad's salicylic acid gel until my DK's BP arrived. So, by the time I received the BP, a week later, I had already begun to see some result. Well, exactly a week later - my face is almost totally clear and the dark spots I had from past scars are lightening up incredibly fast. I spent $22 on two bottles plus shipping - Much cheaper than Proactive.

Pros:

I have to get it shipped to the uk which costs as much as the products but it is still a great buy and worth every penny, still very fast delivery though... gets here in a couple of days!

Cons:

Once you have started these products and I use the soap, shampoo, moisturisers and body lotion you can't use anything else..... you won't want to ever be without all this stuff!

These products are totally brilliant, I cannot live without any of them and I start to get a bit panicky when I only have half of anything left! It has also saved me a small fortune on going from one brand to another and making my ultra sensitive skin worse! THANKYOU!!!!!

Pros:

it has helped me maintain great skin for about 6 years, controlled the monthly zit or two very well

Cons:

it is a little harsh in terms of dryness, so i use something a little milder in the morning and good moisturizer if needed, but i like my skin to always be very slightly on the dry side

i have used it for 6 years and its great

Pros:

Get's you really excited after watching the commercials.

Cons:

Really dried my skin and caused burn marks. I had mild acne, occassioanlly on my chin, between eyebrows, on my cheeks. Now I have a severe rash between my eyebrows and mild burn marks and bigger pimples than before.

Cleared my face remarkably the first few days and now it seems that my face is worse. I think I am going to adjust my program by not using the deep cleaning wash and only using the mask at night. I also didn't use sunscreen and I read too late that I should. I really hope this works.
July 18, 2007

Pros:

At first it works really well. I felt a difference in the first time I used it. It worked really well.

Cons:

At first your face does dry up a little bit. Also, I have been using the product over a year now. I stopped using it for a month or two (i kept forgetting), and then I started again. It stopped working. Its started working again just recently.

Proactiv works really well. Just make sure you remember to use it twice a day every day.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
