Pros:

Works well

Cons:

Really dries out your skin and makes it really red and itchy

Because it dries out your skin so quick you have to make sure you apply a lot of moisturiser. To be honest I found just washing my face when I woke up and before I went to bed with soap and water and using a flannel or wash cloth worked much better. My spots were gone within a few weeks and my skin wasn't red and itchy. Using quindoderm for a few weeks make my skin really uncomfortable and because I had to keep applying moisturiser made my skin even worse and I got more spots.

Pros:

Worked for a little bit, easy to use

Cons:

Stopped working after about 3 weeks

Used now for almost 7 weeks. Worked initially very well it seems, and after that just hasn't worked well at all.

Pros:

Helped clear acne.

Cons:

Made my skin dry.

Awesome! I love this product. It helped me so much whenever i had breakouts! Cleared most of my acne but it didn't prevent them.

Pros:

Not sure?

Cons:

None

This didn't do ANYTHING for my skin. The first week my face turned sooo red it was horrible and then I kept going for a 2nd week and the redness went away but I still have acne so I went a 3rd week and still nothing. This product is obviously not working 24/7 because I still broke out while using this. I switched to the severe kit yesterday and hoping to see some results with that. If you have light acne this product will probably work for you. I'll update in a couple of weeks on the severe kit.

Pros:

cleans my face
clears whiteheads/ blackheads
shrinks pimples
easy to use

Cons:

does not smell pleasant (not bad either)
has not completely cleared my acne

clears acne but does not seem to prevent it. I have only been using it for about a week so i dont know if it will start. it is great becuase it is the only thing that i use.... so i dont have to worry about other products irritating my face because these were meant to go together. clears acne very well!

Pros:

None.

Cons:

Do not buy this product. They have the worst customer service department I have ever encountered. I called after my initial shipment to cancel my recurring item (which is mandatory when you buy). When I received a shipment the following month, I called back. They had no record of my initial call (they say). The only way I would be refunded was if I sent the shipment back. This would require a trip to the post office for me, being in NYC - not an easy feat when you have a full time job....

...plus 2 kids at home and the post office is only open between 9am - 4pm M-F! I asked if someone could pick it up instead (because it should not have arrived in the first place). They told me no and that if I didn't pay, they'd take it up with a collection agency. I was appalled at both the tone of voice I received as well as the response itself. I would not recommend this product even if the customer service was great. I have been using it for a month now and noticed that my skin was becoming dry and cracked (it never has been before). I went for a facial last weekend and the woman providing the service told me that Proactive has hurt way more people's skin than it has helped! Do not use this product!!

Pros:

Well, I liked the sunscreen moisturizer. It's the only thing from this set that I still use.

Cons:

THIS BROKE ME OUT BAD!
my face was swollen for 3-4 days! ;[
I think the break-out was partly due to the fact that i may be allergic to the BP in one of the lotions.

WOULD NEVER BUY AGAIN

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
