  1. I had mild acne as a teen. Never thought too much of it. In college, I went through a stressful breakup with a boyfriend. We had been dating for four years and I took the split pretty rough. After we broke up, my face erupted in pimples. It was also very, very greasy. I thought that this flare up was situational and would go away with time. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Three years have passed since. I am still very oily and suffer from mild to moderate acne. It only takes an hour or so after

    Acne Diet And Supplements

DIET: Being in an acne safe diet means cutting certain foods from your every day diet. Give it a period of 35 days to up to 3 months to see this truly works for you. But trust me, give it a real fair shot! NO: Dairy, Coffee (yes coffee!!), gluten, sugary drinks, alcohol, sugar (cut it out), seaweed, turkey, shrimp, and SOY (yes even soy milk, so no more soy lattes please. Make your self a favor and get more involved into cooking rather than eating out. Restaurants tend to use a ton of che

Help me with diet changes! :)

I've read countless blogs about how someone cleared their acne by simply changing diet.. Since I had a bad reaction to retinA/clindamycin I do not feel comfortable taking any medications at the moment. Looking for a healthy diet change but the problem is I am naturally prone to losing weight. Any suggestions on how to maintain or even gain some weight while avoiding acne prone foods!? Most diets I've seen are sure to make me drop ten pounds and I only weigh about 100 at the moment.. Open to sugg

    Day One: Skincare

Skincare changes began tonight: 7/9/2016 I quit panoxyl 10% and my persa-gel 10 (although it's a great spot treatment, it's too irritating). I used vaseline on my face and neck to help bring in moisture due to cracked and excessively dry, flaky skin from benzoyl peroxide. I washed that off with cetaphil gentle skin cleanser (a holy grail product) I currently will be using 3 products for the next 2 weeks. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser (morning and night)
  5. If you haven't heard of of the 'Caveman regimen, you're not stuck in the dark ages. It's yet another half-baked idea at to eliminate acne What they mean by "caveman" is keep your face dirty... don't wash it... don't use chemicals... just let it be. You know what cavemen did before cleansers and before acne Now, I couldn't agree more with this theory. After all cleansers and a most other acne products destroy your skin's microbiome which can make acne worse. Once you mess with you
  6. Summer is coming and the situation is not fine, so I decided to change my regimen for the last time. If the situation doesn't change, I will stop to use all these stupid creams. My new regimen: Every day (twice a day) I will use a Cleanser with 1% of Benzoyl Peroxide Every Morning I will apply a moisturizer (Sebium Hydra) For the nights: twice a week I will apply clindamycin 1% gel three times a week I will apply tretinoin 0.05% twice a week I will apply Sebium Global (a cream with
  7. hello! two years or so ago I began experiencing more severe acne than I had in my teenage years. before that, I'd have the odd blemish or two but never had to think very hard about what products I used on my skin. my skin today is the worst I have ever seen it and I now find myself o.b.s.e.s.s.i.n.g. over every little thing I do, wondering if it contributes to my acne. my health history: I have alopecia areata, which is an autoimmune disorder that causes mild hair loss; I am also lactos

    Intermittent Fasting Continued

sorry people i also forgot to mention protein intake. high levels of protein also increase IGF-1 and testosterone. im not saying cutting out protein sources obviously thats stupid but try to not go over you daily recommended amount. also when it comes to you diet we all know the 5 a day rule or whatever arbitrary number the government of your country have decided on. ( basically have as much as you can ) focus more on veg than fruit because the sugar in fruit is still bad for you in large am
  9. This persistent condition is more than skin deep. It can leave not only physical, but also emotional scars, and that’s why it’s particularly hard to deal with it. Acne is one of the most common dermatological issues, and according to some estimates, as much as 85% of the population suffers from it at some point in their lives. It’s characterized by greasy skin covered in pimples, blackheads or whiteheads. Many adolescents have to deal with sudden acne outbreaks, which are mainly triggered

    1 week of eating clean

13/8/16 It has almost been a week i ate a clean diet. Morning i ate 2-4 eggs with avocado and romaine lettuce. From lunch onward I ate only broccoli, carrot and sweet potatoes for every meal 3 times a day. I dont consume any dairy , oil , processed food. Drink at least 8-13 glass everyday. I also start eating raw garlic , at least 2-3 cloves everyday. I do see a slight improvement. Maybe its too early to tell. Bear in mind also that i suffered from bad acne on my jawline, cheeks. I will conti

    Meh

So I'm dong OK I suppose. I fucking picked again. It's been harder to stop than I imagined it would be. I like to think I have good self- control. I became a vegetarian when I was 13, I pulled myself out of my alcoholism that I've had since I was 14, I overcame my OCD on my own when I was 10(officially diagnosed later on), but I can't stop picking. It's very frustrating. I'm starting to think my picking is actually a manifestation of my OCD, because it is quite obsessive and senseless in nature.

    Day 1

Day 1. 9:00 Washed with Proactive added pure aloe gel or scabs along with Simple 24 hr day/night cream. Skin on forehead so oily by 1:00 Thinking about somehow adding more BP to the proactive cream. I like the way the system works and it suppresses around 80% of it but it doesn't stop my face from getting oily and it doesn't keep the CC away. Food: Breakfast Vegan pancakes (banana, Egg, vanilla &honey), Lunch: Chicken, gluten free corn chips. Drank a LOT of water though with Crystal l

    Day 11 - progress!

HEY FRIENDS. Today is day 11 and things are definitely improving!! Despite only drinking the broth twice a day, my skin is definitely calming down and beginning to heal. Food wise, i've been 90% paleo (small mishaps such as small amounts of seed oils/gf flour), and I am aiming to reach 100% soon (still working out what is and isn't safe!) On top of that I've been drinking broth every morning and evening. Interestingly, I didn't have broth for breakfast this morning because I'd run out and my
  14. Acne is the most common disease of Western civilization, and it has evolved to an epidemic affecting more than 85% of adolescents and 50% of adults. Acne is virtually absent in non-Westernized countries that do not consume cow's milk and dairy products...Imagine that - entire populations that have never experienced acne Acne is now more seriously being regarded as a disease caused by exaggerated production and activity of insulin within the body.

    Starting Over Day 1

Sooo.. just thought I'd use this as a place to track everything I'm doing for my skin. If I log, maybe I'll stay on track! Was doing low gi for a few weeks, my skin was getting so much better. Also started juicing a bit and taking extra supplements... until my best friends bday last week and my bfs bday a couple of days ago. Today, I now have about 6 new zits that just sprouted overnight. Could've been anything really.. lIquor, cookies, burgers, brownies, pizza, etc. I'm starting new

1 Step To Curing My Acne

Hi, My name is Opey and I've had acne since I was 14 and now I'm 20 going 21, basically I've had acne for 6 years straight and I just can't deal with it anymore. I hate looking in the mirror because of my countless inflamed cystic acne. It just looks disgusting and I can be honest with my self, people around me have said it to me so I know myself. When people make fun of me because of my acne it doesn't actually hurt my feelings and that's being honest, but it just makes me think, what about if

    The Lowdown

Hello my fellow acne fighters! Well, it's the first week of the semester, and guess what I have? A knock-down, drag out cold. BLEGH. So not only am I going to four classes and working, I'm also carrying tissues around with me and my head feels like it weighs a hundred pounds. Fun times, Fun times. Alright--what you've all been waiting for...the skin update! It's been rather a up and down, ladies and gentleman, it turns out the desert essence moisturizer was another example that I should never sw
  18. THE BEST HORMONAL ACNE ROUTINE- THE ONLY ONE THAT HELPED ME!Hi there I'm 22 years old and I've been suffering from acne from around the age of 15. It was bad and cystic at times but it was still manageable and used to come and go. During this time I was still using cosmetic facial products and benzoyl peroxide continuously and my face was very oily all the time. Anyhow, about 5 months ago my acne got servilely worse. I had sore cysts all across my forehead and all across my chin and the sides o

    Day 29

Day 29 - Did not pick today so tomorrow is day 30 and I will be posting pictures! I dermarolled today. I haven't been counting the days but I think its about 10 days since my first dermaroller session? Can't say ive seen good results (its just one session) but I haven't seen bad results which is still good news. I went a little rougher today since I was use to the pricking pain, but hopefully not too rough for my skin to handle. I've done some research, and I think i'll be buying the este

    14th week on Yasmin

This week I started my 4th pack of Yasmin and it's the first time that it didn't broke me out at all (not complaining about the one teeny tiny spot I got) like it used to do while starting a new pack. My face hasn't been pimple-free since ages. Yasmin has work wonders for me so far. My periods are the most regular they have ever been. It hasn't done a lot to prevent my excessive hair growth, but the doc told me that I'll probably see difference after a couple more months of using the pill.
  21. I took Accutane 4 years ago. After two years, my acne returned in full force. I was getting cystic acne just like before. I fell back into the cycle of taking antibiotics (minocycline, doxycycline, etc) but I knew that wasn't a permanent solution. I was even considering a second round of Accutane. After seeing how clear my skin could be with the first round of Accutane, I just wanted to have clear skin again! It had been such a blessing not having to think about the blemishes on my face. When yo

    Halfway Through Week Two

So I posted about how my weekend binge sent me into a breakout. After that day I had one more pimple barely begin to form and it was zapped with a little acne medicine (which is rare lol). I also popped and cleaned/treated the biggest zit I got on my left cheek. I did that last night and it looks much better this morning. I have been dairy free, once again for 3 days (this is my 3rd day, so two full days), and once again, the redness and inflammation I received over the weekend has drastical

    Day One: Realization

Day One: Realization Hello and welcome to my blog, I hope you can enjoy these posts and I bring a sense of happiness to your day!:) Firstly I am 18, a recent high school graduate and about to finish my 2-year degree in business. I obviously have experiences with stress - and that's what this first post is going to be all about. Exactly a week ago I went clubbing with my friend for her birthday and some lovely (sarcasm) human being slid my phone out of my pocket and basically stole it. Right t

    Intermittent Fasting

Hi everyone IF YOU DONT WANT TO READ THE EXPLANATION SKIP TO THE LAST PARAGRAPH basically i've had moderate to severe acne for about 4 years now (its been moderate for the last year) and as is the same with most people on here ive tried all sorts of pills and creams over this period. And i have also had a huge interest in diet, nutrition and exercise. about 3 years ago now i did the basic 6 food elimination diet (milk, soy, egg, wheat, nuts and shellfish) and took vitamin tablets to re
