Pros:

Totally cleared up my skin! I love it!

Cons:

I did gain a bit of weight, but only about 5 lbs, which for clear skin I can live with. Unfortunately I am self employed and with no work supplied health care I pay $42 per month for this product.

I love it. I have been using it since I was 16 strictly for help with severe acne. I use it daily in addition to Vichy's Normaderm skincare line, and my skin looks model-perfect. I am 30 years old and last year as well as when I was 25 my Doc tried taking me off of it and putting me on Tricyclene and acne came right back. So I am sticking to my Diane 35 as long as I can get a perscription for it :)

Pros:

Has really cleared my skin, so far effective contraceptive no more excruciatingly painful periods YAY

Cons:

slight weight gain but it is possible to lose, it takes a while to really start working (6 months was when i really starting noticing skin improvement) slight moodieness a little depressed nothing worse than usual PMS its just not in a pattern. Price

Yes its got a few negatives but give me a little weight gain(which is not hard to lose thank god) and moodiness for clear skin and no more painful periods any day. If you dont need something to clear your skin their are cheaper possibly better alternatives for you though.

Pros:

Cleared up my horrible, sometimes cystic acne. Helped normalize my super oily skin. Helped decrease cramps. Helped regularize periods.

Cons:

Ongoing dry eyes with contact use; Initial dry vaginal experience and lowered libido; initial weight gain but goes away

I absolutely love Diane-35. From I was a little girl, i was always looking for a way to clear up my acne and make my periods more comfortable. These were my two life menaces. I couldn't even eat sugary fruits without it causing acne inflammation, and I won't even go into the real sugary stuff like candy. I know the packet now says that you should discontinue use after 3-4 mths after the acne has cleared, but I tried stopping when my mother discovered that it gave her high blood pressure, but the acne came back some months later. Differin gel is great topical treatment, but I need something internal. I'll have acne for a long time since my mom at 54 still has it. I don't know how I'll be able to give it up since it has helped so much, but I really do not want to experience high blood pressure or blood clots because of it. For now though, at 23, I hope the cons mentioned are the only ones I'll experience.

Pros:

Clear beautiful skin, regualr periods

Cons:

PRICE

I started using diane 35 when I was 18 and continued using it until I was 22. I decided to go off it since my face had cleared up, but a couple months later my acne came back in FULL FORCE! (even worse then before I started). I have been off diane for a year now and my acne is getting better since using cetaphil cleanser, I dont have sever acne just the big ones that hurt on my forehead and alot on my chin. I recently went to the doctor to get a perscription for diane because I just loved my skin when I was on it, and had so much more self confidence when I had clear skin. Hopefully it works just as good the second time around. Just waiting to start it on the first day of my period! I totally recommend diane to anyone that suffers from acne. I LOVED it !

Pros:

very clear skin
larger breasts
birth control (of course)

Cons:

lower sex drive
mood swings
higher chance (than normal) of getting pregnant when taken inconsistently

I started taking Diane 35 to help prevent my acne, even before having a boyfriend. Then I got pergnant immediately when I decided to stop taking it because my was acne already healed. I also have lower libido (sex drive) ever since I took Diane. Me and my husband only have sex 3 times at most per month, and I only get aroused once out of those 3. Take Diane 35 if your only goal is to get rid of your pimples, but if you're in a relationship, try other birth control ways instead, like condom or IUD. The sex drive is needed by our partners, we have to accept that fact.

Pros:

breast gain, some might see this as a con
prettier hair and skin

Cons:

initially flare up of cystic acne.
weight gain especially around hips
severely painful breasts

I only used this drug for 2 months, sporadically not sequentially, so i'm not sure how great my review will be. First time i tried it was great, i had no weight gain, no symptoms at all except for very painful breasts, and my acne went away. Second time however, i had that initially flare up of acne that some talk about. i gained a kilo or two alot of it on my hips :( ! but thankfully it went away when i got off them. I stopped using the drugs for this reason. Use it if you must, but i have heard once you get off the pimples come back with avengance.

Pros:

all pimples-GONE!

Cons:

mood swings, depression

For those who take diane only a few weeks and claim that it does not work, PATIENCE is the key. After 2 times failure of roaccutane ( which pimples came back even worse), I tried diane ( basically i just tried everything anyway). the first 2 months of diane was a very bad memory, but after 1 month that it cleared my skin significantly. My skin now glows and is so soft that i can't help touching it all the time. So just be patient friends! For those who have pimples again after stop using diane: My doctor prescribed me with diane 35 and minomycin. He said that when my skin is completely clear, I should stop diane and go on with minomycin for a few months to make sure that the pimples won't come back. I'll start using only minomycin next month. Good luck guys!

Pros:

Clearer skin, and is a birth control

Cons:

does give me nausea

bottom line; it's treated me the same way any other birth control has. Yasmin has the same pros but doesn't give me nausea. if i go off any birth control whether it's been aless, yasmin, or diane my skin always get worse. Diane however clears it up faster. if you find it does make you sick always take it in the middle of the day with lunch, never at night or in the morning.

Pros:

Clears up skin a little

Cons:

None

I've been on the Diane for 6 months and my acne has improved a bit but it hasn't cleared up yet and I am getting very frustrated, I'm going to see another Dermatologist for a second opinion as I am getting scared of all the bad reviews when you come off this pill..I am not willing to take this pill for the rest of my life...it has been banned in the US for a reason and I regret taking it. On the other hand, I haven't had any adverse symptoms as yet, no weight gain or loss, no cellulite, no headaches or moodswings...but these may appear after extended use of the pill. Bottom Line, only take it if you have no other choice and you have tried EVERYTHING ELSE. Make sure to seek second and even third opinions.
