Pros:

so far an improvement in skin, slighty larger breasts

Cons:

moodiness, tiredness, depression and crying constantly, excess...EXCESS hunger leading to weight gain, irregular periods, spotting in between periods - BUT MOST OF THIS WAS SOLVED WITH CHANGE OF DIET

In terms of my skin, I am seeing a gradual improvement. I usually break out every week before my period, but I have noticed each new cycle since taking this, my skin gets better and better. i can slowly see the blackheads dissapearing, and despite initial breakouts, this is just the skin getting rid of all the crap. First few weeks the side effects were crazy. the hunger and the depression; my gosh! so i saw a nutritionist who put me on a low/no-carb diet. ie. no wheats, rice, potatoes, starchy things and most importantly - no sugar. this was amazing and basically reduced the hunger, weight gain, and apparantley I am so much less bitcher than i used to be. I am no longer emotional and depressed either. I'm still waiting to see complete results, It's only been 2 and a half months and my main goals are to clear my facial and body acne and the excess hair on my body. here's hoping :)

Pros:

Cleared up really bad cystic acne completely. Skin is not covered in oil every 2 hours anymore. Reduced severe cramps by 80% (I no longer need Rx pain killers). Sleep better. Extremely regular period. Lose less hair in the shower.

Cons:

Zero sex drive.

I've been on Diane for 7 years. I suffered from extremely bad cramps and mood swings during my period. That combined with the cystic acne all over my face made my life hell. Diane solved all my problems without side effects (other than the sex drive). It really improved my quality of life because my face no longer feels like it's got a layer of oil on it all the time(gross) and I don't need to spend 1.5 hours in front of the mirror every morning covering my face with makeup to look "normal."

Pros:

Bigger Boobs. clearer skin - face and back

Cons:

none yet.

Works good for skin problems.. I have not noticed any side effects yet, but from what I've read I would only suggest going on this birth control for a few months..

Pros:

Clearing and less-oily skin, period regularity, finer body hair

Cons:

A little bloating

I've been on it for a single cycle and can already see and feel improvements (just waiting for my old acne to fade). Skin and hair are not oily at all; hair on my arms and legs seems finer and more sparse; period is regular (finally)

Pros:

I clears your skin; however, you develop mood swings

Cons:

Once you stop it, you develop bad breakouts again which is really embarassing. Imagine being 35 years old, and suffering from these embarassing blemish marks.

I stop it for three months last year, and by October I started having breakouts. You must be prepared to take them for the rest of your life.

Pros:

Clear Skin
Bigger Boobs
Contraception

Cons:

Weight Gain (under 5kgs)
Initial Breakout
Takes a a few months to become effective

Don't lose hope! I didn't have a problem with my skin until I started taking the birth control pill Levlen at the age of 17. I broke out like never before, and after a month on the pill I made the decision to stop taking it. My acne continued to get worse, so i went to see the doctor. She prescribed me Diane and I have been on the generic brand Estelle for nearly 6 months. At first the initial breakout was horrible.. and it continued to be so for about 3 months. I'am now coming to my 6th month and I'am acne free although my scars are still fading. Give it at least 4 months, that's how long it should take, and the initial breakout is well worth it in the longterm!!!! However, before you start make sure you have no blood clot history etc.
