Diane-35 : Oral Contraceptive

Where I live, this pill is known as "Diane Nova". I began to use it at the beginning of year 2015 (February), at the age of 22 and used them until the start of the year 2016 (also February). I've been suffering from acne since I was 12 years old, and when I was 22 my skin problems had been hurting my confidence for a good 10 years. I've even tried Accutane (at the age of 17-18, known in here as Roaccutan) but the results were not permanent, and my acne returned almost immediately after finishing the 1-year treatment. Because of the price and the unsatisfying results, I did not give it another go. During using these pills I had very little side effects that would be associated with the use of birth control. I experienced that my face and hair started to be less greasy than before. By 6 months of using, my face was pretty much completely clear - I'd no longer get the painful, big bumps that I used to have under my skin several at a time. Now I would only get possibly two tiny pimples at a time, during that time of the month. My mood and confidense improved after this. After almost 1 year of using, I started to experience pain during and after intercourse. I went to the doctor and she told me it was dryness caused by the hormones in Diane pills, and that it was not uncommon. She said that people usually switch to another birth control pill after their acne has cleared, commonly by about a year of using Diane, and prescribed me another pill. I switched to another pill known as "Femoden" and my skin has remained clear after after switching. I'm now 23. My chest and back are finally completely free of acne, too. On my face I only get tiny pimples occasionally. From my experience, I warmly recommend birth control pill as a treatment for acne. It cleared my skin and it takes care of contraception, I plan to use birth control pills until I wish to have children, so I can not speak from experience if the acne will stay gone after quitting birth control - only that I remained clear after switching to another pill. However, because of side effects the same pill/method may not work for everyone. I feared to get side effects, but experienced almost none. For me it did get worse before it got better, the doctor told me that clearing would take 6+ months. I hope you find the treatment that works for you! In my journey I have lost hope at many points. The bad outweighs the good and I'm tempted just to stop taking it. Although I want to stick with it to see if it clears up my acne, but I think it's making me insane. I guess you should just try it for yourself, everyone reacts differently to things, My sister got no side effects at all and achieved absolutely beautiful skin and no babies!

I have been taken Diane for 2 years. It was actually self prescription (I didn't visit any doctors before taking it). My acne started to disappear after 4-5 months of taking pills. But the process was really slow, you should be very patient and do not panic if acne still remains on your skin after 3 months (as a leaflet says - visible results AFTER 3 months!) My skin was almost clean (I still had few spots, but they were under control), so after 2 years I decided that it's time to give up pills. First few months my skin remained clean, but all woman's natural processes were stopped as well! And finally after 2 months I experienced the most horrible acne, it was so awful - nothing could help to prevent spots! So after 3 months of break I returned to the Diane. And now I have finished second pack, my face is still not clean (yeah, it's better but not perfect!) and I am afraid it won't be clean anymore. But I really hope that it's just the time issue, fingers crossed!

I went on diane 35 when I was around 15-16 and it cleared me right up. I still got the occasional break out when my period was coming or if I left makeup on but honestly what I mostly dealt with was scars which I didn't mind because bb cream could cover those. Anyways I am now 19 and I stopped it maybe December 2014, and June 2015 I HAD to visit my doctor and get it prescribed again because my face was just at its worst in years. I am now about to start my third pack and my face has gotten better than two months ago for sure. Still not great tho, and for those two months I broke out kinda bad. It's looking up though and I will stick with it because I know it works from experience, and why give up after two months? Just stick around for another two and hey you'll probably have clear skin! I started to pair retin-a with it about two weeks ago, every other day first week, and then moving up to everyday this week, at night. So far I haven't broken out more and I am hoping they make a good pair and that helps me with my scars and helps with the acne as well. It's my second week of using Diane 35. I suffered from severe acne on face, and all over my trunk including my butt. They are all healed but they left severe dark spots, hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation. I have different skin problems on body that cause me to be depressed. I used different products but they didn't work on me. I used very expernsive antibiotic.. Well, it's effctive but I can't use it forever for health and financial reasons. Then I saw good reviews about diane35 so I decided to try it. It's my second week now..I noticed I have less oil on face and hair whenever I wake up in the morning.. My face is getting better I guess..not so sure. i will have to wait for 4-5months before I can be sure if it really works on my acne. About the sude effects? Well, I noticed my breasts are getting bigger..wow! i love it! And was really moody before I use diane3 but to my surprise.. I am more emotioally stable now. No depression at all, I don't ger angry too fast and eerything is like easy for me to do.. I don't know but it works well in changing mg mood. From having mood swings to a happy me! I know not all users of diane35 don't feel the way like I do. I am so excited to see more good results in the next months! I will update u guys!

You need to try this pill if you have hormonal acne. Give it at least 3-5 months before seeing results. You will see your face will start getting less oily before your acne decreases. I did not have 1 pimpke for 12 years. I call it my miracle pill.

I've only been on this type of pill for six months...at first, I thought it was a miracle pill. My face was less oilier, my skin was clearer and my boobs grew, which made me quite happy, seeing as it now looks like I have boobs :P...quite a confidence boost! And not to mention...it is a very effective form of contraception! My boyfriend and I always have unprotected sex, and this pill has prevented me from getting pregnant every single time (yay!). Before taking the pill, I used to get severe cramping a few days before menstruating and my period would sometimes be unpredictable, but now I know exactly when I'm going to menstruate, and for how long. However...while being on this pill, my boobs were ALWAYS tender and my gosh...it hurt!! I gained quite a lot of weight, was always feeling bloated, and felt sick after every meal...my appetite is now all weird and all over the place. My hair is also thinner :( I don't know if this is related to the pill, but before I started taking it, I was fine when it came to alcohol consumption. Now, even one drink or even a few sips makes me nauseous and causes me to vomit. The worst side effect for this pill was severe depression. I am now a completely different person....for the worse! My mood swings are crazy, I become irritated, emotional and cry all the time for no reason, and it's ruining all my relationships with people! I hate being so depressed....and it's all thanks to the hormonal changes in my brain, due to the pill :( Although I now have bigger boobs, it makes my skin nicer, and is an effective form of contraception, it is not worth taking this pill, unless you are prepared for moodiness and depression!!!!!!!!!! However, the side effects are different for every person...although the depression side effect is a common occurrence in this forum!

It's not worth it. I also developed a week of anxiety/sadness each month. The drying effect was too much and was counter-productive. My period became heavy. Maybe this just isn't good for those of us in our 30's and 40's. Please, please re-think this route.

Seems to be doing it's job,my husband likes the big breast thing, since i'm an A cup, this is a nice alternative to plastic surgery as right now I'm pushing a C cup! I have gained about 5 lbs since being on it for 2 months which again could just be all the Chinese food i'm eating. Or the bigger breasts?? Hmmm...the extream tenderness i quite irritating. I have excellent medical coverage and usually get my prescription free, sometimes I have to pay a dollar or so. Of all the BC i've used this one is my least favorite but i need it for maintence since being on Accutane (whole other thread).

I put on weight when I first started using Diane 35 - I think mainly because my appetite for food in general as well as chocolate greatly increased.-I rarely ate chocolate before-now I can eat a block in a sitting. My skin did clear though -considerably. My Dr is pretty good and I went in as soon as I started getting sore pimples as my mum used to have acne so spotted it right away. I went on the pill a week later so I have very minimal scarring and I only get the occasional "acne pimple" when I stop for my cycle. I do get normal pimples still-fairly often but they're not that bad. My bf is the sweetest guy in the whole world but his patience is wearing thin with my complete lack of libido :( I just don't feel like it and when it does happen it's still not that great- it feels like something's missing now? I've used it for about 9 years and I'm 24.
