Pros:

Smells nice

Cons:

Very drying
Didn't reduce blackheads

After using this cleanser my usually oily skin became very dry, red and irritated. It didn't really improve my skin, therefore I stopped using it after about three weeks.

Pros:

Cleared up most of my acne in a few uses
Continues to improve my skin

Cons:

Dried out my skin
Burned and peeled, especially around my nose
Some stinging-but totally worth it!

I have struggled with troublesome acne all over my forehead and now T-zone tfor 8 years, since having my children. I've tried lots of things with no results, and was ready to head to a dermatologist. This is the first thing that has made a noticeable difference. I tried out a combo sample pack of the Effeclar K and facewash about 3 weeks ago. Although I found it burned my skin (left it peeling and rough in places) my acne is significantly better! I haven't worn concealer in 2 1/2 weeks. I just bought a moisturizer from the line and an exfoliant that I hope will fix the rough areas. You should definitly try this product!! Go easy at first, and don't use any too close to your nostrils.

Pros:

Flattens existing acne almost immediately
Clears clogged and impacted pores
Smooths rough skin
Helps to lighten dark spots/scars
Eliminates oil

Cons:

Burns like a mofo!
Leaves you red for a few hours
Will make you peel a bit

This product is awesome. I have stubborn acne on my chin and jaw and also had clogged congested pores on my nose and head. I use this once a week and also use coral Kavi twice a day. My skin is clearer, healthier looking, smooth and NOT OILY. It's NORMAL SKIN! Totally worth the $!! I use the 15. And also have the detoxifying scrub and derma wash and pore cleanser toner. :) P.s. I've used EVERY product and nothing worked this way!!

Pros:

Clears up my skin
No breakouts
Makes skin look flawless

Cons:

Dryness

Neutrogena never works for my skin, so I tired Clean and Clear and I'm never going back! Like I still have blackheads but not as noticeable. My skin is clearer and smoother then ever. My skin can become dry, but as long as you have the right moisturizer, you should be fine. I love the microbeads that are in the bottle, and love the light scent. I recommend this, unless you have sensitive skin.

Pros:

Smells good
Somewhat of a moisturizer
Used after a face wash

Cons:

Doesn't help acne scars
Expensive for a small bottle
Caused breakouts in areas where was most applied.
Not good
Dry skin

I've had really bad acne scars and breakout on my chin. Been trying many products and this is one of them. I cannot understand why my face rejects everything. The products caused breakouts on my chin and sides of my face where I applied it most due to the scarring and breakouts. It hasn't helped and leaves your skin dry. I wouldn't buy this again and feel like returning the product for a refund.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
