Pros:

leaves skin feeling clean
smells great
good scrub
clears up little bumps on face
clears makeup

Cons:

doesn't stop pimples "even before it emerges" like it claims

i thought this was a great cleanser for anyone just looking for a good everyday facial cleanser. although from my experience it didn't stop all pimples that would form. it smells amazing and the beads are a good size so that it exfoliates too. so for anyone trying to get rid of severe acne, i don't know how well it would clear it up. but DEFINETLY worth trying though :)

Pros:

-Cleared up little bumps on my face that the benozyl peroxide 2.5 couldnt

-Easy on the skin, not harsh and wont result in flaky overdried skin

-Wash smells really refreshing (like lemongrass)

Cons:

-Its expensive

-Not easily available in some countries in south east asia

Its really a good series that definitely helped to clear up my skin, when I had little pimples here and there (i used to have acne) it takes just 2 or 3 days before the pimples dried out and vanished completely. I always use the brighten up tan moisturiser with a little bit of medicated concealer in the day and realised that my face isnt as oily with the moisturiser as compared to other brands. No regrets, after trying so many brands and getting tired of battling my constant enemy (zits) this is by far the best weapon

Pros:

-EASY EASY EASY!
-almost completely gets rid of regular pimples
-cheap
-works just as well as proactiv in a fraction of the time!

Cons:

-doesn't get rid of blackheads or anti-inflammatory whiteheads
-or those disgusting cyst-y pimples that never go away (but nothing really works on those anyway)
-dries out skin in the beginning, but your skin gets used to it after a week or so

I am officially dumping proactiv for oxy pads! I am rarely wearing makeup anymore and when I touch my skin it feels super-smooth. Except for the occasional annoying pimple, my face is pimple-free! I used to get bad acne around my eyebrows but now I have no problems at all. It takes about 10-15 seconds to put on. It might not work on all skin types but it worked on mine! Highly recommended. The only things it doesnt get rid of are blackheads and those little tiny rows of anti-inflammatory whiteheads (I get them on my chin). But those arent visible to anyone but you anyway! And if you're just starting to use them, here's a tip: In the beginning use only one a day or maybe one every other day then gradually increase until you're at 2 a day. I do it twice a day regularly and 3 times if I see that I'm breaking out. This works well usually. Seriously, try this product, it's great! what have you got to loose?

Pros:

all natural

Cons:

doesnt work

this didn't work for me when i tried it years ago. Now i am using burts bee's sensitive skin cleanser. it does wonders for my acne. it is not an acne cleanser, but all u need is something tht isnt harsh tht will get rid of impurities. i saw a review where a boy said he used all natural facewash etc and his acne went away. he said another man reccomended it to him. so now i reccomend it to you, because it works, eat healthy, use a facewash tht isnt for acne but natural, and drink lots of water. the sensitive facewash from burt is hypoallegenic, soap free, non comdegenic, paraben free, dermatologist tested and many more. left my skin soft, beautiful, and even strted to get rid of scars w/in a few days.

Pros:

Clean thoroughly
Removes dirt & oil as promised
Lathers well
Smells good
Helps clear mild acne
Helps prevent mild acne

Cons:

Does not clear severe acne
Can irritate severe acne
May irritate sensitive skin

This is a great cleanser for thoroughly cleaning skin, clearing mild acne, and preventing acne. I had to stop using this product when my acne worsened, as it irritated the acne. But, I started using it after my my acne got better. So basically, I'd recommend this to all skin types, except severely acne prone or sensitive skin.

Pros:

- Got rid of my pimples
- Long lasting
- Not expensive

I have been using this product for a year and my skin is as clear as it has ever been. A lot of other similar products didn't work for me because they were either too strong and left my fair skin with blotchy red patches. I recommend only using it every few days and remember to only use a small amount. My thirteen year old sister is starting to get pimples on her t-zone. I let her borrow this product and within the next day her skin was clear again. Definitely works for us!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
