Causes breakouts

I'm sure this caused me to breakout even more because when I woke up in the morning I had a few new spots which was weird seen as though I used this to try and clear my blemishes but this broke me out even further, It did leave my skin very very tight almost crusty.

Pros:

Prevents acne
Shrinks pimples fast
Takes oil and dirt off your skin even after washing your face
A bottle lasts a long time

Cons:

May be a bit over-drying but can be fixed with lotion

This is the best thing I have ever purchased for my acne. I have been using it two times a day, morning and night, and it has really calmed my moderate acne and leaves me with only the occasional zit I used to have before I started to break out like crazy over a year ago. I recently stopped using it for a few days because I got a prescription, but I started getting acne all over again. Now I am back to using it and within only 24 hours my zits are shrinking. I am not stopping use of this product

Pros:

-helped make popped pimples disappear almost completely in one night
-smells nice

Cons:

-caused me to breakout ALL OVER! IN ONE NIGHT.
-pimples all over my cheeks, and ever a row of them under my eye along my lashline. WHAT THE HELL?!?!

Used it for 1 night and took it back to the store. Works ok on semi-healed pimples but makes your clear skin worse. Im 14 and school starts in 4 days. I only wanted to get rid of a couple of marks on my forehead, and now i have a whole face to deal with :(

Pros:

smells nice
pump
foams

Cons:

does not clear acne completely

Foaming cleansers are my favorite because I feel like I am getting a deep down clean that washes away all grime on my face. Aveeno's foaming cleanser goes on gentle and lathers quite nice. I use one to two pumps for my whole face and neck area. I always remember to get the neck area because it's as equally important as the rest of my face. Neglecting that area can cause breakouts along the jawline and on neck. This can be very unattractive for girls if you wear your hair up often. Foaming cleansers are the best at lathering everywhere for a deep down clean. I don't think I could live without this cleanser in my regimen.

One thing I forgot to add to my previous review - the thing that makes this item work the best for me is because it uses salicylic acid (the mellow stuff) instead of benzoyl peroxide (the harsh stuff). I don't know if maybe I just got a special brand or if all of Aveeno's Clear Complexion bottles are like this but that definitely makes the difference - benzoyl peroxide is definitely terrible for sensitive skin, which is why I love that Aveeno items are always mild yet effective and dermatologist-approved.

Pros:

I noticed very little change

Cons:

dried my skin out like CRAAAAAZY
was very harsh
very expensive for what it is
made my face red
my face had huge flakes coming off it
couldn't put make up over it at all!

so, I went to the shop with my mum to get some acne treatment when I became aware of my growing acne. I noticed this product and thought I'd give it a go cause it was expensive so it must work! NO. well, that night I put some on and it felt like rubbing velvet in to my skin! it felt so good and I didn't experience any stinging sensation or drying. I kept at it for a while and by the second week I had like 1cm flakes of skin coming off my face! it was sooo embarrassing!!! it also made my face really red after about three hours of application. it was really random and I was at school which was so humiliating! so, I lowered the amount I was putting on my face and my skin still remained burned and red and flakey. I stopped using it immediately! but it took me about three weeks for my skin to get back to normal:( DON'T USE IT ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE DRY SKIN

Pros:

Helps prevent and clear acne
Good for people with oily skin
It's a cool idea to have a dispenser lol

Cons:

Not very practical for travelling

I like this cleanser a lot, I havn't had good experience with clearasil products in the past but this is now one of my favourite cleansers afte Philosophy's purity made simple (which is expensive) I use this replacing Dan's cleanser but in the Regimen. I tried both the red and green cleanser, if I'm honest I didn't think there was any difference both gave me great results on clearing acne, I still like how there is 2 refills to choose from because I like to change up my cleansers after finishing them otherwise my skin will get prone to that cleanser, and it won't work as effectively as before.

Pros:

clears acne quickly
foams nicely
smells nice

Cons:

drying

i had this for a few months and it dried my oily skin out, but it was b/c i used it 2-3 times a day so at first it cleared my skin but the dryness caused it to break out again. i ran out of some cleanser i had been using and went back to this and it worked better than ever with me using it only at night to get off makeup and the day's dirt/sweat. in the morning i use Ambi complexion bar which is fabulous and has kept my skin pretty clear (i get about 5-10 zits a month) and its cut that amount down (excluding around my time of the month) -they need 2 make a face wash for that!- but all in all its a good product which i'm buying again this week.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
