Pros:

doesnt cause breakouts,lightweight,non-greasy,smells nice, great make up base, keeps my oily skin matte, cheap

Cons:

none

i wouldnt use this solely as an acne treatment. however if you're looking for a moisturizer that wont cause more acne, clog pores, irritate your skin and is great for oily/combination skin-then this is definitely the one. it took me a long, long time to find the right moisturizer for my hypersensitive skin. i love it. definitely hg status.

Pros:

My skin feels soft, dewey and smooth after I use it. Its also very relaxing.

Cons:

None

I love this stuff. I love how it doesn't take such a long time. I love how soft my skin feels afterward, but more important, I love how it has cleared up my acne almost overnight. By the way, if you can't find this, try a supermarket. I found this is Ralph's.

Pros:

cleared up the small annoying acne on my forehead area. I noticed results after the first day. I have pretty sensitive skin but have been using this product twice a day so its fairly gentle. another really great Biore product.

Cons:

not helping me with larger acne. I only vary rarely get larger zits and I am now noticing one red spot on my cheek despite consistent use of this product. also other minor red spots not disappearing.

Dont expect this product to help all your skin problems. But definitely a great product. my skin is much softer after only a week and huge improvement compared with other products.

Pros:

Clears pores, prevents new acne from forming, well tolerated, easy to lather

Cons:

none

When I first bought this I thought maybe I would have a bad reaction to it but no side effects at all. It took about a good 3 months to really tell the difference. Some people are just too impatient and they think that this stuff should work in a months time. Trust me this stuff really works and I only get a pimple on my back every now and then but they are small and heal fast. My androgen levels are through the roof so it will not prevent every single pimple to come through.

Pros:

Smells like peppermint. Reduces oil and eliminates acne. Sign up for auto ship and never be without your products. My Arbonne consultant is very nice and helpful.

Cons:

A little expensive but I'm worth it. LOL! Initially, takes a few weeks to notice results. Toner bottle leaks during air travel.

I love Arbonne's Clear Advantage skin care set and will continue using it and sharing it with my pizza face friends. :) The set has 5 products.

Pros:

Keeps skin smooth and matte without over-drying or over moisturizing, easy, inexpensive, available at most drugstores, calms down redness, works immediately and lasts all day, You can even use make-up over it

Cons:

I used a lot, and often throughout the day, so my only con is that I'm already halfway through the tube. I also don't like ACNE STRESS CONTROL in big letters, but a lot of drugstore items have tacky packaging.

I was surprised at how well this worked considering I'm not a fan of Neutrogena products in general. It's actually a good inexpensive product. I wanted something with 2% salicylic acid to exfoliate old acne and keep my pores clear, but not drying since I had already experienced some redness and peeling with benzoyl peroxide and wanted to give my skin a break from that, plus I liked that this said it worked for stress related acne and calmed down redness and would keep my skin hydrated- a hard combination to find in an acne product since they are usually drying. This actually did everything it said it would do so I was impressed enough to write this review. I've used this for 3 days and nights. I had big acne but only a few spots- in other words, not light acne because it was big cystic things that I had picked at, but not all over my face, just a few spots. I was most impressed with how this made my skin matte but not overly dry, and reduced redness and inflammation.

Pros:

Clears up acne quickly

Cons:

Does not work long term, dries out skin

If you need a quick fix, this works great. My skin cleared up noticably after only two days. After about two weeks, however, it stopped doing anything. It's still a nice exfoliant, but it doesn't help the acne.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
