Pros:

None, unless you take wrinkles as pros

Cons:

WRINKLES!!! Very dry skin. Costs too much, and they come for more money.!

I used Proactiv last time about 5 years ago and still am paying the price--my skin got so dry that I developed wrinkles when I was 19! And the worst think about it, I could fill my wrinkles. Yeah, fill' em. That was killing me, so to deal with that I used heavier moisturizers, and that made me brake out even more. Pretty much any cream makes me brake out. Just imaging, having very oily skin, so you dry it so much, that you have to put some fat creams, which make it only more oily... How I deal with my face now? Not touching it my hands, because they always oily no matter how good you wash them. Also good sleep + lots of water. And washing face with black tea. Of course, I do regular fruit masks as well. And that helps very much. I just have to use some light lotion at night. I hope it will help.

Pros:

None!

Cons:

It dried out my skin and made me break out more than I already was.

This product is awful. You stop using it for a day and your skin begins to break out worse than before you used the product. They tell you it's only $29.95 and in reality they send you one kit that turns out to be over $100. It is so not worth buying at all! It is not affordable at all!

Pros:

I don't normally take the time to leave feedback but I feel compelled to thank you for your products and for your business practices.  These days it's hard to find a company that not only sells a quality product for a reasonable price but also one that includes samples, gives shipping information practically immediately and ships as quickly as you do.  I am so pleased doing business with you, thank you.  As for me, I am 30 years old and I still have acne.  The only thing that kept it in li

Pros:

Cleared skin at first
The soap bar lasts for months
the moisturizer+bp works as spot treatment

Cons:

irritates skin
doesn't work for cystic acne
pricey

First I bought the starter kit and used the foam, which seemed to help, but in combination with the moisturizer+BP it was too harsh. It did clear my skin at first, but didn't help much with inflammation and some cysts i had under my jawline. I switched to the soap bar and it's much better. i just started treatment with a dermatologist and she approved i continue using the soap with the prescriptions she sent me, so i guess it's ok!

Pros:

Everything. It really helps control acne.

Cons:

Nothing.

I struggled with trying to find something to clear up my pimples and keep them away, and I tried EVERY brand you could think of but when I came across Oxy, I loved it. I've never used anything else for years! I highly recommend it.

Pros:

Easy to use
Works well
Clears up acne without drying skin

Cons:

Unethical business practices
Sneaky company
Poor customer service

I ordered a trial kit, paid for it, received it, and have been using it for a couple months. My skin looks great and I want to keep using it. However, Proactiv has charged my account $19.95 three times and shipped two kits (a third might be on its way). I assumed auto ship was on, called customer service to remove it, and had a terrible experience with their customer service. The woman (Bonnie?) gave me attitude and I ended up totally cancelling my account/membership. The company snuck in some sort of extra charges or extra shipments of the product that I did not authorize or order. Although the product worked very well and I wanted to continue using it, this experience has totally made me want to disassociate myself from the company. I will not be recreating the account and I will spread the word about their poor business practices. I guess they needed my extra money to pay their irrelevant celebrities to lie about using Proactiv.

Pros:

WORKS!
Not too expensive
No smell

Cons:

Bleaches towels/clothes

I had TERRIBLE acne before i started this treatment. my face was red and a lot of huge painful pimples. Nothing worked before this product. It takes time. I've been on this product for 3 months and my face has dramitically cleared up. I think you should give any acne product time, especially if your skin was as bad as mine. I gave up and first and when I started over again i couldn't believe the results.OMG...TRY THIS PRODUCT. GIVE IT TIME, IT WILL WORK!!!

Pros:

It seems to work

Cons:

Deceptive about prices
makes my skin burn

This company is not upfront about their prices. I was charged the initial $30.00 for a one month supply. I was fine with that. When I ran out, I purchased more at $ 40. I was not aware that more was being shipped out so I got charged again. Today, I got a bill for $127. The representative told me what I paid for was an installment! I didn't know that it cost so much and thought I was paid up. Skin care should be so expensive that you have to pay in installments. On top up that, It hurts. the cleanser is so abrasive that It feels like your face is on fire once you apply the acidic toner. While it did clear up my breakups, there has got to be something else that will do the same. I cancelled my membership today and will NEVER have any more dealingds with this company. They Ought to ashamed.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
