Pros:

I started having really ugly breakouts on my forehead in my 30's. Big, painful, ugly blemishes. I tried all kinds of stuff and nothing seemed to help. I ordered this via Ebay and tried it. It worked wonders for me. Now, several years later, I'm a loyal customer. My forehead isn't as shiny when I use it daily, too. It's good stuff.

Cons:

Be careful not to use it with a colored washcloth as it will bleach out the color.

I highly recommend Clear & Smooth. I indicated on the survey to the right that I have very light acne. This is due to the Clear & Smooth product. Before using it, I would describe my acne as being moderately severe.

Pros:

IT WORKS! It's gentle, natural, not tested on animals, no animal by-products, amazing customer service, inexpensive (one bottle lasts a LONG TIME!), and I hope they never stop making it. I love the regeneration anti-aging moisterizer for acne-prone skin. it makes my skin sooooo soft and glowy!!! and it doesnt break me out! FINALLY i found something that my skin likes!!! AMEN!!!!!

Cons:

bleached my towels, but i dont care, now i just use white towels, problem solved!

YOU MUST BE PATIENT!!!!! it took me about 6 months to finally get my acne under control. You have to follow directions EXACTLY. Use a fresh clean face cloth EVERY time. some people think of the process as a pain the the butt, but its really really easy and it doesnt bother me because I can finally look in the mirror and smile. If you slow down and take care of your face, your face will thank you for it. I had acne for 12 years, 12 YEARS! I wish I found this stuff 12 years ago but I was too busy listening to what my friends said and spending thousands of dollars on dermatologists that were just taking my money and ruining my skin!!!!!!!! The moisterizers are all awesome and they even send you free samples with your purchase. Everything is friggin AMAZING. I have been using their products for over a year now and it is the ONLY stuff i will ever put on my face again.

Pros:

it's been working so far....yeah!

Cons:

can be drying but we already know that....moisturizing is a must

I actually purchased this to start using on my twelve year old daughter. Her skin was starting to break out kind of on a regular basis; no big pimples, but still whiteheads on chin and forehead. We've been consisitently using this for about five weeks, and so far so good! Her skin is noticeably better with whiteheads very rare now....hope we continue to see good results. Thanks so much for this site and your products.....I'm sold! : )

Pros:

Works extremely. Within my first week, I was almost fully clear, but it's important to use it consistently. That will ensure clear skin.

Cons:

The first time I tried it, my face felt faintly stiff and some peeling occurred. But that was only because I used too much BP. Other than that, this product works like a charm.

Fast, doesn't irritate the skin as long as you put the right amount each day (Remember to start off real small). No odor, doesn't stick, and it's easy to clean up after.

Pros:

Large size bottle, smooth skin, all natural, always give samples and free soap.

Cons:

None!

Ive been using this product for about 7 years when I first found it on ebay. I have never used another acne product. This product not only clears your skin, but Im pretty sure it's what's keeping me looking younger than my age.

Pros:

It is relatively inexpensive and that is about it.

Cons:

It made my complexion worse (I did use it correctly; I know how to read and follow directions). I experienced dry spots, and breakouts to the 10th power. I am actually still trying to recuperate my skin two weeks after use.

Everyone's skin is different. The product may work for your skin type, but it definitely did NOT work for mine. *I really wanted to rate it a 0, but I did not have that option.

Pros:

-10% benzyl peroxide is effective for clearing up present breakouts and preventing new ones
-3 different moisturizers in the face wash to minimize over-drying and flaking
-menthol frees so cool and refreshing on the skin!

Cons:

-minimal eye skin irritation of you wash too close to your eye

Its what I use morning and night and i love it! I'm not interested in looking around at anything else at this time. I've spent 5+ years, over $1,500, and so much frustration and time into searching for a acne regimen that works for my skin. And no matter if im switching moisturizers, topical solutions, birthcontrols, whatever! I need stray from my C&C Continuous Control Acne Cleanser.

Pros:

Starts working immediately.
Good for people with adult acne.
Mild Cleanser.
Reduces the "normal" pimples and bumps significantly.
Easy to use.
Comes with a lotion with SPF.
No annoying toner like Proactiv.
The box came with a $4 off coupon for your next purchase of the system and $2 of any neutrogena make-up.

Cons:

Does not work as well on cystic acne, but does work better than other "systems"

Within three weeks it greatly cleared up my red bumps, small pimples, tightened pores in my blackhead areas, and those bumps that are not quite pimples but seem to be everywhere. It seems to stop acne in its tracks, no new zits to look for each morning. Face feels smoother! Day lotion works well under mineral makeup. I think it is a great and easy system to use and I can introduce different products like a face peel or mask every week without over drying/irritating my face. Unfortunately, my cystic acne is has not greatly abated with this system but it seems to have reduced the size of them when they do surface. I recommend easing into the system at first. Use the cleanser and day lotion daily and introduce night lotion every other night. Start using it every night after a week or two. That should help with the irritation. If your skin is irritated, reduce the amount or the frequency you use the night lotion. ***Check the neutrogena website for their $5 off coupon!***

Pros:

Low cost (IMHO), cleans skin, free soap with each bottle, gets the job done.

Cons:

Bleaches shower curtains, washclothes, etc. Will even bleach your clothing if you don't use soap after the 30-sec treatment.

Why am I writing this review? First, I see quite a number of poor reviews about this product. Listen, I had severe acne since I was 20. After THREE courses of Accutane over a decade long period, my acne ALWAYS came back. What saved me and why do I now have PERFECT skin? Well, it started with this product (yes, it goes worse before it got better) and more importantly, I changed my diet. Here's a newsflash for you. If you have horrible acne, your body is telling you something. Your skin is flushing out your system and if it's ugly outside, your insides are worse. Get clean. STOP the cokes, or any soda, an drink pure water. STOP dairy of ALL kinds. Eat more vegetables and some fruits. NO WHEAT. I could go on and on. Bottom line is this: I had really severe, terrible acne, so bad I refused to go out. Now, my skin is baby soft thanks mainly to diet. I also use Carley's face scrub and cream, along with their foot care product. All the women in my life (yeah, when you don't have terrible acne, you might just be decent looking!) are jealous of not only my skin, but my hair and feet. Do yourself a favor and look at what you are putting in your body first. BTW, I've been using their products for over 10 years and I've found NONE better (and, yes, I tried them all).

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
