Pros:

*Clears up your skin
*Makes your face feel refreshed after washing
*Smells nice

Cons:

*Dries out face- but easily fixed with a good moisturizer.
*A little expensive
*Can be time consuming

This did work but you HAVE to use it twice a day. It does dry out my skin but is easily fixed with a good moisturizer. It doesn't clear 100% of acne but just about all of it is gone. It also takes a while, over 3 months or so to get really good looking results. Basically if you have 5 minutes in the morning and night to wash your face this product should work.

Pros:

Inexpensive
Smells good
Feels Good
Not drying
Easy to use
Works :]

Cons:

The benzoyl peroxide bottle always run out faster than the other two...I wish they made it a little bigger so the entire set could actually last 2 months. But that really is no big deal lol!

I have had horrible acne for over a year...I cried multiple times over it. I decided to use this since it was inexpensive and I had already spent so much money on trying to solve my dilemma. I had prayed so much that this would work and that God could use the chemicals in this to work and take away my blemishes. I also began using aloe vera gel from Fruit of the Earth as a night cream (or more like a mask I guess). It worked. Within one week the acne on my cheeks had completely healed and the scars left behind were fading fast, due to the aloe vera. I haven't had success with anything until now. I am so excited and so happy about my healthy (smooth!! Eeeee! :D ) skin. I don't feel embarrased or have to wear tons of foundation just so I can at least squint in the mirror and look like I have pretty skin. God is good, let him take control of the problem and he will take care of it. I hope everyone has success in their acne ridding plots! :] Btw- the av next to the cost is the cost of the aloe vera gel :]

Pros:

Mostly cleared skin for first 2 months. Easy to apply, dries quickly. Inexpensive.

Cons:

After experiencing initial clearing, my skin started breaking out again. Would get about one large one on my chin or above my lips per week that would take 1-2 weeks to heal while leaving red marks that lasted a few months. Never before had I dealt with such large pimples and the red marks that came along with them.

It is worth a try. Prior to trying the acne.org regimen I had been on prescription Differin and Benzaclin for about 6 years (I'm 23 yrs old.) I started breaking out again after college and wanted to give the regimen a shot. While it didn't work for me as well as I had hoped, I think it can be effective for individuals with light acne and even if you're acne is moderate it may be the solution for you. Now I am back on prescriptions from my dermatologist and my skin is looking much better.

Pros:

No animal-derived ingredients, super effective results, great value (so many products come with free bars of the all-natural soap!)

Cons:

Very specific multi-step process, requires a clean washcloth every time, only available through internet ordering my area

It works, and it's worth the process: wash your face w/the soap using a clean washcloth, rinse, wash w/scrub for up to 60 seconds, rinse, wash again with soap and rinse. At night, you can just wash with the soap, no washcloth or scrub required. It took my skin, riddled with painful cystic acne, about a month to acclimate to the new treatment (I used the "regular" formula, not the "teen" formula), but since then, it's worked better than anything else I've tried: anti-bacterial prescriptions (oral and topical), birth control pills, Proactive, Neutrogena, Clean and Clear, Aveeno, Nuskin, Clinique, you name it. I giggle at late-night infomercials about skin products now. The Daytime Moisturizer is fantastic (I wish they made it w/sunblock!), the Elderflower Mask is a lifesaver, and the Night Moisturizer is amazing (my experience has been that the results are on par with Mederma with extended use). They send a lot of little samples, which gives you a chance to try before you buy, and I've fallen in love with the *effectiveness* of their products this way. I just got a sample of their mineral makeup, and I can't wait to try it! I have not experienced any problems with bleaching of washcloths or fabrics, and I use washcloths in many different colors. As a matter of fact, this stuff is the only stuff that hasn't bleached my clothing, pillowcases, and towels/washcloths the way other products have. If you do experience any issues, they have an unlimited period return policy, so you can always return it and get your money back for any reason. They even refund original shipping. If you have problems, take the time to LET THEM KNOW, and get your money back. I wouldn't return my supply for the world. I only wish my local hippie naturals store sold this stuff. I'm a happy customer!

Pros:

started clearin my skin in about a week or so
not SUPER expensve
skin feels nice after using it

Cons:

I don't like the benzoyl peroxide it comes with

this has really, really, really helped my skin. It worked faster then I thought, and I love the face wash it comes with my skin feels so nice after I use it. I use the toner every so often when I remember, but I wash twice a day and I've really noticed a difference. I really don't like the benzoyl peroxide it came with, so I just bought the benzoyl peroxide you can buy seperetly, the one it came with is a cream, the other one (the one I use is a gel)

Pros:

Clears skin, leaves it soft

Cons:

Somewhat drying

I started using Proactiv about 5 months ago and it made a HUGE difference. I used to break out all over my nose and forehead and it was just terrible. I really didn't want to try proactiv because I'd read all these reviews that made it sound terrible, but I tried it anyway. It's amazing! I very rarely get pimples, but even when I do they're not as red and disgusting as before. I still wear makeup (because my skin is naturally oily) but I feel like if I wanted to I could go without it. I usually only use the cleanser, I feel if I use all 3 products it dries out my skin too much and it hurts and looks all nasty. So about 1-2 times a week I'll use all three and it keeps my skin nice and clear :)

Pros:

Inexpensive, easy to use, everything smells wonderful. I cannot say enough good about this product or anything else from this company.

Cons:

None!

I've been using this product (and just about everything else they offer on their site!) since 2001 or 2002 and have never been disappointed. Not only are their products fantastic, but they're super-friendly as well with really fast shipping! As an added bonus, their natural soap is amazing for fresh tattoos! I don't use anything else for cleansing after getting new ink.

Pros:

Feels Nice, my skin feels smoother after one use.

Cons:

None yet that I know of.

So I ordered this on 4/23 and got it today. I ordered the industrial teen version. It comes with a bar of their natural soap and two small samples of night and day moisturizer for acne prone skin. So far so good, It feels nice and it doesn't smell unpleasant. The soap really cleans your skin and the treatment feels nice. The moisturizer goes on smoothly and makes your skin feel nice and light. It also doesn't look greasy or oily :) I am 15 and have moderately severe acne. I bought this because of all the glowing reviews. I shall be posting weekly how my skin is improving. Well see ya then :)

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
