No oily skin

Cons:

Pros:

Don't know, now that I think about it...Nothing good came out of this regime. I still developed acne while on the regime.

Cons:

Dried out skin.
Caused cysts to grow on areas that never appeared before.
Cause me to have Eczema.
Went from moderate acne to Severe Acne.
Read Bottom line to know how.

Right now I have been breaking out as of late and I blame Dan for this but first you have to hear me out. I used to have the occasional zit or two on the nose. Once or twice a week and that would be it. I decided to do the regime because Dan's promise was so convincing. I did it regiously and insisted on not giving up because he grinded that into my brain. Not saying its a scam but thats how he got everyone to try the product and kept on using it even though their acne got worst. Anyways, while on the regime...I would get big cysts and bumps on my cheeks and chin which I never had before. I would get one or two big cysts on my cheeks every week! I followed the regime, using the Clean & Clear foam cleanser, BP Treatment and Cetaphil lotion for moisturizer. The cysts will leave a deep red scar on my face which i never had a problem with before. The BP caused the scar to be deeper and more permanent. On top of that after 6 months of use, I developed eczema and at first I tried to ignore it but it only got worse. I developed eczema on both sides of my cheek, lip and forehead. I continued using the BP and it stung on the spots that had eczema so I decided to quit the regime. Now I have eczema but that is slowly being cured since im off BP and started using a rash cream. My Cheek acne is also gone but now I have horrendous Cyst acne on my chin. I get about 2 cysts everyday on my chin/mouth area!!! It turned my skin from moderate acne to Severe and I wasted all the time and money.

Pros:

clears acne
smells good
can use moisterizer over it

Cons:

can be drying if you dont use moisterizer over it

before Retin a this was the only thing that kept me from having severe acne . Now that my acne has gone from severe to light it works even better . If you want treatment that works , use moisterizer over this . Good luck ! P.S I only use the acne cream

Pros:

Refining mask is very good
Toner contains which hazel
Fast acting
It does clear blemishes

Cons:

Dries out skin
Slightly over rated
Not for severe acne

Pro Activ is overall a very good product. I suffer constant break outs and pro activ is the only over the counter product that cleared them and cleared them fast. Pro activ now offer a "sensitive pack" which includes a deep cleansing body wash instead of a cleanser. The deep wash contains salicylic acid which is a bit more gentle on your face. My skin was very dry in the first 2 weeks. I just stopped wearing the repairing lotion during the day every 2nd day and and topped up on the moisturizer. If you suffer severe acne I believe topical treatments probably aren't the way to go and maybe a visit to a dermatologist is in order otherwise I would recommended pro activ to anyone with mild and moderate acne and who can afford to continue using this product.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Didn't work

I wouldn't recommend using any products with Benzoyl peroxide.

Pros:

reduces pimple size
works within a day, such as if you apply it at night, by the morning the pimple will be less inflammed

Cons:

after continous use, skin becomes irritated
balls up if you touch face after application

It does do the job, but when i was using it, it really bothered my skin and even after i took it off, my face would itch for the whole day. Maybe that was just me... for the most part it did reduce the pimple size. so now i only use it once in a while when i need it

Pros:

Saw results within a few days of application
Fairly Inexpensive
Prevented larger pimples to form

Cons:

Too drying
Burns when applied
Loses its "gusto" after a few months
Began irritating skin

Started using Benzac last winter after a bad break out occurred. After a few days of application twice a day, I noticed the existing pimples were becoming smaller and less noticeable. A bit of drying and flakiness happened, but that was an okay trade off. Over the course of a few months of using Benzac, I noticed the texture of my skin becoming rough and bumpy. Even when I do break out, my skin is still soft, but my face felt like sandpaper. I couldn't quite figure out what was causing my skin to react this way, as Benzac was the only "harsh" acne topical I was using on my face, aside from a Purpose Soap Bar. I decided to give Benzac a break because my skin was too irritated. About a week ago, I tried using Benzac on concentrated areas of my face to see if it would irritate them, and an hour or so later, those areas were so red and bumpy. I recommend Benzac to those with normal skin who can take a little "abuse" from their skin care products. But if you have very fair, sensitive skin like me, you might want to steer clear of this one, or use it very sparingly , or apply every other day. On the bright side, since I started and stopped using Benzac, it pretty much eliminated any large pimples from forming. If I do get a break out here and there, the pimples are much smaller and go away faster.

Pros:

Makes skin very soft

Cons:

Dries out skin
Causes irritation
Stings even after you wash everything off
Made my skin crazy red
Expensive
Made my skin feel really tight
Only works for about two months, then just stops and eventually gets a lot worse

For the love of god don't buy this stuff! It really is a scam. Even after you cancel your order they just keep on charging you. The commercials where people are all like "oh it's so wonderful" are such BS. Straight up, just don't buy it.

Pros:

-It cured all my acne in one month!!
-I have less blackheads (maybe because of the routine of the regimen, that u have to wash 2x per day and be constant)
-Gel formula, goes on nicely

Cons:

Super dry skin
red/orangy face
itchy skin

But it so worth it!!!!

I had acne since my 13s, never been too terrible but in the last couple of years it got worst. Within the years I tried lots of different products but they didn't work at all (Vichy Normaderm, Acniben, Clean and Clear, Asepxia, Loreal Zone, etc.). When I was on birth control pills my acne was controlled so I thought it was an hormone problem and I was about to use birth control pills again until I reach this website! I live in Argentina so I was a little sceptical about buying online, and all that stuff... If it was going to work, if I was waisting my money one more time... But. BUT! Holly cats! What an amazing product! Within 3-4 weeks I was totally acne-free!!! I bought The Regimen (the regular one) and my brother after watching the results on me (i was like a guinea pig) used it too and now we bought The Big Kit Plus. BP made my skin super dry, super flaky, super itchy and very orangy (im super pale, so u can tell) but one month after doing it every day, and using lots of moisturizer (Now I bought the Jojoba Oil to add it to the regimen, it didn't arrive yet so I can't make a review on that) my skin feels pretty normal again, and with no acne at all! I will definetly recommend it, it totally worth every side effect of the treatment and every cent that we pay for it. You have to be really constant and you will see results!!

Pros:

It really really works
Clears skin even if used just once a day

Cons:

Might be harsh on sensitive skin...
You better don't use it on the face...

It works!!!! and it works fast!!! I never used it on my face, but chest, back and shoulders. I use it in the shower right after I washed with soap or shower gel. Just apply small amount with your hands wait for 1 minute and rinse off. I used to have bad acne on my back and shoulders, once it began to spread to my neck, I decided I need help....tried so many products including Proactive and other expensive brands, nothing helped but $9 product from local CVS...

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
