Pros:

None

Cons:

Made my acne worse, added cystic spots to my jaw, too expensive (£40), lengthy application, smells.

I do not recommend, I really thought this product was going to work, after 4 weeks I stopped using ProActiv as it made my acne worse, I think its the cleanser that its the big no no, 2 mintues twice a day with a scrub is not going to help.

Pros:

-2.5 benzoyl peroxide as apposed to 10%, works just as well without severely drying your skin
-Simple ingredients, so for once in your life you know what you're putting on your skin
-A lot for little, the bottle hardly fits in my bathroom cupboard

Cons:

None

I've been dealing with moderately severe acne (which has progressively gotten better over the years) since I was twelve, I'm nineteen now and believe me I have a lot to say about it all, but I'll focus on this treatment. I was a 10% Panoxyl user for about 3 years up until two months ago when they started having production issues. It was a great product, I would highly recommended checking it out if you have moderately severe acne, but the reason it is inferior to Dan's treatment is mainly for just how drying it can be. My skin constantly cracked up and peeled, my skin could just never build a tolerance to it and I'm positive the irritation made things a bit worse, but it was still better than having pimples on every inch of my face. With Dan's treatment it comes with just 2.5%, that's a lot lower than something like Panoxyl's 10% so I always wrote it off, but reading some studies provided here and looking at Dan's regimen I decided to give it a shot. I think really though Dan's tactic of using more benzoyl peroxide to combat acne was the key. In conjunction with this light simplistic formula it makes that possible, which is ideal and damn does it work. Also, the fact that this treatment stays on your face as apposed to being lathered and washed off really guarantees your skin will absorb the benzoyl peroxide. So overall try it out for a month, but look into how Dan uses it on this site. I can really see why a lot of people are having issues. And by the way, you have to stick with this stuff. Its benzoyl peroxide, its going to have the potential effect of initially making things worse and drying skin just as any other product but if you really want to rid yourself of your acne that's what it might take. Benzoyl peroxide is hands down one of the best treatments for acne according to studies and polls and I think this product utilizes it the best.

Pros:

Cleared acne, completely
Skin renewal
Gentle - does not dry skin
Economical & long lasting
IT WORKS

Cons:

None

I have very sensation skin which caused much of my acne during my teen and college years. This is the only product that actually worked. I tried every other product on the market. If you have sensitive skin and desire to finally clear your skin, add this product to your daily regimine.

Pros:

Results on Adult acne right away with the overall texture and glow of my skin. Literally just cleared my skin up in 1-2 weeks after several other products.

Cons:

NOT ONE....well it would be nice if Carly's was in cvs or Target! But I online ordering is very fast!!

I won't let the bottles get low without placing another order. I did so much damage to my skin in the panic of several trouble spots before I found Carly's clear and smooth. My skin was irritated and raw from all the various products I tried...those all failed! Carly's was so fast delivery and fast results!!!!! I will never go without it again!!

Pros:

Exfoliating
Could be good for blackheads

Cons:

Definitely made me break out

After reading tons of good reviews I decided to buy it. I used it for about a week and it broke me out pretty badly so I stopped using it. I also noticed the bottle which I received was expired. Not sure if that actually had anything to do with it or not. Didn't continue using the product so i'm not sure if it would have improved or not. Your risk.

Pros:

Best acne product ever, even better than ProActiv! I had a bad case of acne and it completely cleared my blackheads and whiteheads and scars.

Cons:

Discontinued

Bring this product back, seems like they always get rid of the best thing that works. Tsk tsk

Pros:

Came with a scrubber
No smell
Clears skin
Cheep
Buy at local stores

Cons:

Red, dryness
Flakyness

I have been using this product for about 2 months now, and my forehead looks amazing. The only consern i had was the acne on my forehead, so i was so glad when i saw the pimples clearing. I didn't however, think my cheeks would be a problem. Ever since i started using AcneFree, my cheeks have gotten noticeably worse. Right when I think they are getting better, another pimple pops up. The pimples on my face seem to not react to anything i put on it. I plan on buying the Regimen because i have nothing to lose. I would recommend this product to people with moderate acne; severe might want to try the severe AcneFree product. (I have not used it, so i cant say it works better.) Since the product is only $20, it doesn't hurt to give it a try. Everybody is different, and every problem comes with a different solution.

Pros:

Good price
Leaves your skin feeling really refreshed and good
Got rid of several pimples

Cons:

Slight flakiness and dryness

Pretty good for the price. I recommend it more for people with mild acne. ***use a good moisturizer with this to prevent too much flaking and drying (I use CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, it's great)
November 1, 2012

Pros:

Quick results
Doesn't smell
Gentle on skin

Cons:

Can be drying, but not too bad

I started using this product a few months ago out of desperation. I had tried the prescriptions from the dermatologists, proactiv, and just about everything I could find. Nothing helped and I had pretty bad acne on my forehead and in random places everywhere. After just one day, I noticed great results. After a week of consistent use, my skin was almost back to normal, and very smooth. However, I skipped it for a few days and I noticed a difference in my skin. You need to be consistent when using this product. Overall, this is the best product I have found so far, and I don't plan on looking for new products any time soon because I am completely satisfied.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
