Very serious allergy
I got the set a week ago. The first time use it, and got very serious allergy reaction from it. The whole face swell and red, and super itchy. Have to go to doctor because of it. I am usually not very sensitive to skin product. So be super careful when you buy it.

DO TRY IT! I was desperate and it helped, along with Vitamin B5
Do try it: after doing antibiotics for some time (killed my stomach and didn't help), duac, tezorac, etc you name it, I accidentally came across this vitamin and my skin is finally getting back to normal!!! I'm in my 30 and always had problems with acne but two years ago, something out normal happened: the breakouts were all over my face, very painful and never ending. I tried both dermatologists and natural remedies - all in vain. My goal at that point was just to contain them, knowing perfectly well that my face will never look the same. But 6 months ago, I first tried the regimen: cleanser and benzoyl peroxide are great but moisturizer stings like hell and doesn't help with dryness. My skin was getting better or rather under control BUT it is only when I started taking 4x500mg of Pantothenic Acid (B5) I stopped having new break outs!!! Right now, I use [link removed] cleanser, peroxide, Glycolic acid moisturizer (works great) + 2-4 capsules of 500mg of Panthothenic Acid. I still have occasional break outs BUT considering how bad it was, I consider this a miracle. All of my friends tactfully notice that my skin has gotten so much better, although I still have all the scars! I'm working on it now but at least there is some light at the end of the tunnel! DO TRY this vitamin. I've read the reviews and was concerned about the hair loss. I was willing to take my chances and I'm GLAD I did. No side affects! I try to minimize the dosage now when I'm doing better but still afraid to stop taking it altogether (I'm that paranoid of acne coming back!) Hope it'll help you as well!

Product Delivers!!
I've had systic acne my whole life, it has been mostly manageable up until a few months ago after turning 50 it got worse with the onset of menopause, I was so desperate was thinking about going on the hard core substitute for Accutane, came across a review on youtube, went straight to Amazon and ordered, it has only been four days and I am already seeing results, it has cleared up areas that have been active with acne for over a month, you have to follow the direction religiously!! It is not over drying my skin, and the moisturizer keeps my oily skin under controll, I no longer have to use an expensive oil absorbing mattafier before I apply my make up.

Bad Value
This is a thick cream that can cause irritation when rubbing in. If it is not rubbed in well, it will harden as a thick cream, and will not soak into the skin completely. Since this is marketed as a spot treatment, the price on this small tube is high.

Clearing Up
For those who just want to know 'did it work?', I'll just say I have been using it for almost six weeks now and my acne has improved significantly. I have tried many, many products, prescription and over the counter. Even tried smearing raw honey and cinnamon over my face and to no avail. Nothing worked and some things just made it worse. The Acne.or regimen is still working and hopefully my acne will clear up completely in the next couple weeks. The dryness however can be quite embarrassing but if the treatment works, it is well worth it! I give it five stars in hopes that it will work.

More moisturizer than acne spot treatment
I used the entire tube but this product did not give me any results. I don't know why i continued using it though, it was probably the smell, or maybe the fact that this was one acne spot treatment that did not leave my skin dry. It was almost like a moisturizer, however it did not remove my acne.

Pleasantly Surprised
Ok So I definitely don't have perfect skin- I get really bad hormonal acne and right now I'm breaking out pretty badly from it around my jawline. I used to use the old Proactiv a couple of years ago in combination with the pill, and both worked perfectly for me; I couldn't use one without the other. Then I stopped using Proactiv and broke out like before. I've tried other products but Proactiv really does work- the new system seems to be a bit more in-tune to how leading skincare formula's are, as they now use a lot of botanicals and vitamin serums, plus salicylic acid in their moisteriser. I'm still finding my skin very dry, however, so I use a Cetaphil moisteriser over the top of the Proactiv one at night and this seems to do the trick. I would highly recommend this product, but you need to use the 3 steps and use everyday. Also, it works differently for everyone- my skin seems to need another month for it to fully start to have an effect, so I would say it will take me 3 months for it to start working properly, but you should notice an improvement pretty much straight away

Good product, but beware of bleaching
I have used this product on and off for about five or six years. The product is one of the best on the market. While it doesn't make my skin 100% clear, it clears about 80-90%. I also notice a huge difference even if I forget to apply it for a day or two. The one HUGE issue I have with this product is the bleaching affect. What you will likely find after you use this is that your shirt collars and towels (if not white) start to bleach. I have had to throw out so many clothing items, including $150 dress shirts because of this. I also will only buy and use white sheets and white towels. If I visit a friend or family member over night, I bring my own towels so I don't bleach theirs. Is it still worth it in my opinion? Absolutely.

Exfoliator Smells Rancid
I have been using Proactiv original products for years and I know they work. I have just received my first supply of Proactiv + but when I used this product, (the Skin Smoothing Exfoliator), it smelt terrible, like the product had gone rancid. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm going to have to return it, and unfortunately I bought two sets of everything. Both bottles of exfoliator smell the same.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
