Pros:

My skin started to heal from the first day. After 2 weeks my break outs were at a minimal.
After three months my scars were fading. after nine I now have beautiful skin. It has changed my life. I had had acne since 13 years.Thank you Dan.

Cons:

I have oily skin so the drying was minimal

The Doctors and Dermatologists KNOW acne is GENETIC / hormonally related yet they palm us off with expensive failing treatment. 2.5 % BP can make it managable. Save your money. BUY Dan Kern. It WILL WORK for most people but you MUST use it Twice a day Everyday. Use an AHA with SPF15 for extra smoothing & clearing....

Pros:

AcneFree has been incredible for me. I seen a dermatologist for 5 years, tried ProActiv for 5 months and nothing has given me the results that AcneFree has. For once in my life I'm confident about my skin.

Cons:

Nothing

If you not only want to clear up your acne but want overall better skin and can't afford a dermatologist or one of the more expensive treatments, then go to Wal-Mart and buy AcneFree. You won't regret it. I definatly haven't. Actually I would recommend trying AcneFree before even thinking about trying anything else. I could of saved alot of money if I would have.

Cons:

It made my skin even more oily, than it was before. Plus it dident get rid of the spots i have had for a long time.

I expected this to work really well for me because I have had acne since the 5th grade. But it has not helped at all.

Pros:

Works,kinda

Cons:

Drying,I developped allergy to it initially, but I guess I was using too much. Seems less effective over time.

I used to have clear skin all my life, but developed huge cystic zits two years ago,all of a sudden. I thought they would clear up by themselves and focused on changing my diet,it worked a bit.My diet was very low in vitamin D and calcium,so I started to drink milk and it helped to keep the zits under control. But since the beginning of this year my acne have become a nightmare.I searched the internet, found Dan's site and started to follow the regimen. Initially I applied Neutrogena BP,it worked, but it made my skin look burnt. It was so red,so irritated,I had to take anti histamines to reduce the itching. I stopped using it.Neutrogena products don't agree with my skin, which is on the oily side. I started Murad and along with murad products I used BP again.Murad's skin perfecting lotion is so good,it takes care of the drying part.I am happy with the result. This week ,for some reason my acne has gotten worse. I have heard that acne gets worse before it gets better.I sincerely hope so.

Pros:

a great product, a great regime, not too dis-similar from Dan's on here! its all in the regime. the product itself is wonderful. spreads well and won't dry out skin thanks to the complimentary soap you get and use as part of it. Also wonderful people

Cons:

none

i've tried everything and most have been too harsh and only made things worse. pills the doctor prescribed had side affects too!! i'd just about gave up! this is by far the best skincare product i have ever used..not just for acne..and i discovered it on ebay. i was originally researching proactive and stumbled across it. i read all the comments people had left and decided to give it a try it took time and persistence for me but only because i'd used that much junk on my skin, i'd literally "harden" it up! but from the first use i was amazed. it felt so clean but with out that "stripped" and tight feeling. i saw improvements everyday. not only that, i used the soap that came with it as bodywash and a small patch of ezcema i had behind my knee and on my hands cleared right up too!!!! i've been using it a good few months now but still have a few that return,so now my 1st bottle is running low (thats how long it lasts-bargain) i'm going to try the stronger one..ALL NATURAL ING

Pros:

i will admit the first two weeks it seemed to be working great, i used it for a long time, im so stupid its because this product makes ur face feel nice and like its improving in the beginning

Cons:

its so expensive! after my 1 order, i ordered it again in hopes of achieving the same results as the first 2 weeks and my skin starting to back to before with acne. i stopped using it after this time and BAM I HAD SO MUCH ACNE WORSE THAN BEFore

your acne will become GROSS after if you stoppped, after i stopped i went to buy proactiv yet again to see if it can go back b/c it was so gross... acne with vengence and it didnt work at all any more i even asked the proactiv cart lady and she said maybe ur skin got too used to it?!? thats retarded so i just quit all together and my acne eventually calmed down, it was the worst decision of my life! proactiv is such a lie and horrrrribbblllleeee long run results, i probably spent close to 200$ and got no where with my acne... i regret it!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
