Pros:

Fairly inexpensive compared to other acne products

Cons:

The directions are different on the bottle than on the paper that comes with the product.

Made my skin even more oily than it was before. I would wake up looking like one big grease ball. Maybe it will get better since i have only been using it for about five days but i really hate to get waking up or walking around all day at work looking like an oil slick.

Pros:

Gets rid of acne quick and if you use it everyday it keeps working. Great for severe adult acne. Cheap!

Cons:

None that I've found so far. I am please.

I have had severe acne for as long as I can remember. Everyone's acne is different so it may not work for everyone. For the first time in my life I feel like I am keeping my acne under control. My face looks and feels great. I started using this product b/c I read something online that said adult acne should be treated with this benzoyl peroxide along with a daily, oil free lotion. I tried it and got wonderful results.

Pros:

I've been using Proactiv for one year now but my skin still is quite oily instead when most reviews said it makes their skin dry. However my worst-two-years-acne has been cured by this and I am totally happy with it!!

Cons:

Skin is still oily a bit

Not all people with acne will experience best result from this products coz different people got different skin condition. Some may get better results and some may get even worse! So I suggest why not the first timer users buy trial pack first rather than just invest the whole full package and see whether it will work for u or vice versa..

Pros:

Made my skin feel smooth and clean

Cons:

Expensive, some of the bottles run out before the others

I used it a few years ago and it cleared up my skin, then I stopped and my skin got bad again so I started using it again. You just have to be consistent with it. I've used everything from over the counter to doctor prescribed washes and this seems to work the best!

Pros:

It is easy to use, NO greasy feel. Makes your skin very soft, It is a good price considering what i pay for the derm and the accutane cream. I am no longer self conscious of my skin. Smells good, scrubs are smooth not rough for my skin.

Cons:

NONE

I use the soap teen kickass scrub and the day time moisturizer. My skinis restored and dewy looking after use. Even if I miss using it I am still clear! unlike other products I have used this really heals your skin. Even my 12 year old is acne free thanks to this. I was taking her to the derm and they had her on antibiotics and cream but she still had bad breakouts. Now she is clear and very happy! This has changed my life I can now wear whatever I want and not worry about my back or chest having ugly scars and acne on it. I am ACNE FREE now.

Pros:

Works really well for me. When I stop using it I break out. When I'm on it I don't except for the occasional pimple. I've been using it for a few years and it has consistently worked well for me.

Cons:

It will indeed bleach certain died fabrics like clothes and towels. That's true for any peroxide. It is annoying and requires care to avoid. Also somewhat expensive but in the end worth the result.

I left the US for a year and only brought the surplus of lotion I had with me. Used a store bought cleanser (though not peroxide based) and alcohol free toner along with the lotion and it did not work as well. Maybe it was due in part to being in a different country with different environmental factors but now that I'm back in the US and back on the system it seems to be working again. Again I've been using it for years and am fairly convinced it uniquely works for me. HATE the way it bleaches some clothes and towels though. Have to be really careful.

Pros:

Reduces number of blemishes, redness, size of existing spots and prevents new ones from forming! it actually works! :D

Cons:

You have to ask for it over the counter at a pharmacy (some might be embarrassed), can dry you out, can bleach pillowcases if you use it right before bed.

I bought my Quinoderm at Boots - it cost £4-5 for the 50g tube. Its a creamy consistency which i prefer to gels and you only need two pea sized amounts to cover your whole face. Now for me this has been a life saver! I'm 22 and have tried EVERYTHING else, including Roaccutane, until reading about Quinoderm on here. Ok my skin still isn't 100% clear but after only 1 months usage my skin is the clearest its been for many years. I currently have only three visible spots! After the first week my skin did become a bit dry and flakey but i have countered this by using olive oil soap every other day to add some mild moisture. In my opinion this cream is well worth a try. Its worked wonders for me - I hope it does for you too!

Pros:

Started working well after about a week and a half. The big swollen under-the-skin zit was untouched by the product, but that was expected. I had 2 zits break appear and most ran their course and faded away. Toner smooths the skin nicely.

Cons:

I made the mistake of not bringing the product with me when I went camping and I really broke out. Now I'm struggling with it again. The no real drying or greasiness for me. But I can't tell if the redness is irritation or sunburn.

Seems decent so far. As a 22 year old who's struggled with acne for a long time, this seems like the next step before Proactiv, Murad and other expensive products. I've done the prescriptions and none were that great for me. Before the mistake of not bringing it along with me, I still had some bumpiness at the surface of the skin at my chin and forehead. It's also tough getting to my shoulders with it and the effort seems to not be worth it as it's not doing much anyway. Good luck.

Pros:

reduces pore size, reduces oil, clears skin, smells nice in my opinion.

Cons:

drys skin real bad at first, have to order off line.

Best product ever. Cleared my skin so well. At first i was about to quit on this product after 6 weeks of use. My skin was so dry, and i had scabs from previous dried up acne. I bought jojoba oil and i still was flaky so i bought some Eucerin everyday protection along with CeraVe Lotion and wow! No mo flakes. I get 1 pump of Eucerin a ity bit or CeraVe lotion and a few drops of jojoba oil, best mixture for a moisturizer ever. Should sell it on the market. But what made my skin perfect was hands down the AHA+. After three and 1/2 weeks my skin was perfect. So smooth and soft. I still have a little discoloration but AHA+ fading it nicely. It took 8 weeks for my skin to get really clear from the BP but its probably because i didnt stop wearing make up during the regimen. HTH

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
