Pros:

Clears skin and especially effective on white heads (for me anyway)

Cons:

Drys up skin a lot, some flaking and you get immune to it after a while

Well i've used a lot of different acne medications and this one works quite well for me. I'm not sure about other people since i'm like the only one who gets acne in my group of friends. I use it at night and the next day it gets better but skin is a bit red and sometimes flakes. After about a week though, it causes pimples in other areas and i usually switch to something else like benzaclin or something similar. But i got it a bit pricey cuz this store just happened to be the most expensive on the block... try it anyway, most stores sell it for 7 bucks!

Pros:

Clears up acne and blackheads. Minimizes pores.

Cons:

My skin became very dry and flaky.

This product is amazing! It cleared up my acne and blackheads and minimized my pores. Even though it does dry your skin out, as long as you have a good moisturizer and use at least a drop of Jojoba oil with your moisturizer it is not even a problem.

Pros:

It is far cheaper than Proactive, I prefer the liquid treatment versus the Proactive lotion it is less drying. It improved my skin's tone and it has cleared my skin beautifully.

Cons:

I am not too keen on the toner, it does not smell the best but it does work so I can tolerate it. And it is not easy to find in Canada - it was sold at Shoppers Drug Mart and Wal-mart but no longer.

It is just as good or even better than Pro-Active. It is worth buying.

Pros:

Feels good on my skin, spreads easily, cleared up blemishes, once your skin is accustomed to it, does not dry out your skin, no odor

Cons:

Drying at first, start off with very small amount and build tolerance to it

Really awesome product. I started off with Neutrogena On-the-Spot while waiting for my order from Dan Kern to arrive. Acne.org's BP blows On-the-Spot way out of the water! The On-the-Spot is chalky, hard to spread, absorbs poorly, dries in streaky clumps. Acne.org's BP is smooth and light, spreads and absorbs easily with no odor. It was a little drying at first, but after my skin got used to it (about a week), the BP almost feels moisturizing. I don't think I've had skin this clear since elementary school. In combination with jojoba oil, the Acne.org moisturizer and the Acne.org AHA+, my skin is as soft as it has ever been --- even my husband noticed!

Pros:

Works great in clearing acne and drying oily skin. Very affordable ($1.00) and readily available. Highest over the counter percent of Benzoyl Peroxide (%10). Amazing product overall. This works better than most RX (Differin, Tazorac, Retin-A).

Cons:

May cause some redness, peeling and stinging on skin. However, no worse than most acne creams. My skins use to these products so it doesn't hurt at all. Other than that... no cons.

This shouldn't be a problem for non-sensitive skin.

When I saw this product at the Dollar General Store selling for $1.00 I dismissed it immediately. Surely, something so cheap and over the counter couldn't possibly work. One day upon returning home from classes my aunt had purchased me a tube. I let it sit on the shelves for about two months. Then, I experience a terrible break out of acne. First, I applied my Benzoyl Peroxide 4 % topical creamy wash. Afterward, I applied a small film of Dr. Sheffield's Clear-zit to my face and patted my face with a towel. I did this so the product would cover the entire surface area of my face and keep it all clear. Then, I put a generous amount on each of the effected areas and rubbed it in vigorously. The next morning I could tell the product was drying the acne and working well. Three days later my face was nearly clear. I continued applications of the two products and at five days I was completely clear. As of now I apply these products daily to stay ahead of the game! I highly rec

Pros:

Got my skin completely acne free in a bout a month.

Cons:

made my skin dry the first week. makes skin goes through a purging phase (almost all products do though). Bleaches towels.

I love this BP. I have tried so many things, and this is by far the best. The first week or so my skin went through a terrible breakout (purging phase) and it made my skin pretty dry, but after the first week my skin started clearing up, and now about three months in, my face is completely clear, not dry at all. My skin has never looked better. I definitely recommend this product. Just work through the initial rough patch, and you will be so pleased.

Pros:

It does work, I have sensitive skin which can be a battle at times this is great! Don't change a thing! Shipping was fast! Loved the samples too. Also a Roscea sufferer. It helps with that too.

Cons:

None

I love the stuff, I bought the bar soap and the day time moisturizer, I received samples for the night time moisturizer, I love them. I am going to order the night time moisturizer. This stuff is amazing! I have used it for 3 days and already see results. I was using Dove soap before with an Avon moisturizer, no more! I am throwing all my old moisturizers out! I found something that works! As long as you see results you don't mind paying the price. Just please stay around Clear & Smooth, a lot of times I find a product that I like and they stop making it. I plan on being your life time customer! This works on sensitive skin, which can be a headache to me, it does work, be patient. As stated above I am also a Roscea sufferer, it works on that as well. Don't know whats in this stuff but it works!!!!! Shipping was as promised, I got my order in 2 days!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
