Pros:

- Works really well in the first couple of months
- Easy to apply
- Makes any bad breakouts disappear within a couple of days

Cons:

- Dries skin a bit
- After a while skin becomes immune to it, but still helps a bit however not as good as it was in the first few months.

I only use this at night, just apply on acne before bedtime and then wash off in the morning. You just have to remember to exfoliate and moisturise as it makes your skin a little bit dry especially if you apply a lot. I started with the 2.5%, then moved to 5% and then moved to 10%. If its your first time buying this then DO NOT buy 10% straight away as your skin isn't used to it, the benozyl peroxide will dry your skin out. So start with 2.5% unless you have quite bad acne then start with 5. Panoxyl is probably the most effective acne product I have used I really recommend it :) It's way better than Benzac AC which I used to use, it is much more effective and works heaps faster. ;)

Pros:

WORKS WONDERS!!!

Cons:

None really. Once your skin is used to BP, you're good...don't neglect to moisturize.

This is the best BP I have ever used. My skin cleared in two weeks but you must keep it up, or they come right back...

Pros:

-Helped decress cyst size
-BP in it can be used way after the pads are gone

Cons:

-Pricey
-Only reduces cystic, not get rid of it

Honestly, I'm currently wearing one. I only bought these out of desperation a few days ago because i have senior pictures tomorrow and a giant cyst popped up about 5 days ago. I think it reduces the size somewhat but it def. is not worth it unless maybe your in a sit. where you need a zit to have a reduced size

Pros:

• It works pretty well
• It's cheap

Cons:

• Bleaches clothes/skin really badly
• Itchy face when sweating (during sport etc.)
• Your face will be red in the beginning, and VERY dry, this goes away later.

This is the only treatment which worked for me. I tried Minocycline, Differin Gel and many others, and none of them worked, then I switched back to Benzoylperoxide, my face is cleaner than before! It's not 100% clean. but better than before! I use this Benzoylperoxide since 2005.

Pros:

Quick acting!
Reduced redness and swelling
Reduced blotchiness
Reduced flakiness
Repaired current acne practically overnight
Prevents new acne from developing

Cons:

Has yet to really touch my blackhead hotspots
Can't just get from a drug store

I bought the 30 day trial kit, which came with a free refining mask. The first night, I washed with it and used the refining mask as a spot-treatment as it suggested on some of my worse spots, including a zit I knew would normally grow crazy huge over night. When I woke up? My face was ALREADY less red, some of my smaller zits were gone, and the ones I knew would be huge were tiny. My family were commenting on my complexion after only two uses. Today is the third day, and all I have left are my blackhead hot spots (chin and around nose), and dark spots left over from the white heads. Quite bluntly, I'm amazed. I'm a 23 year old female, and I've had /terrible/ acne since early middle school. While I would find slight fixes in different washes, treatments, diets and exercises, nothing has ever worked /this/ well. I haven't had skin this clean and clear and smooth since I was still playing with barbies... And it's only the third day! Some people complain about price, but if it works, and you have the means to afford it - it is well worth it. Others complain about time - but I'd rather spend a little longer in the bathroom knowing that I'll be able to walk out with clear skin. While everyone's skin is different, I can assure you that Proactiv is NOT all hype. I had been thinking about trying the stuff for years, but thought it would be just like every other treatment. But now that I've tried it... I highly recommend at least giving it a try!

Pros:

I don't have severe acne but I do have a few red bumps here and there so I saw this in the dollar store and I just walked past it because it was in the dollar store of course it dosen't work, so my mom was behind me and she picked it up. So I thought what the heck and I used that night and the next morning my skin was clear!!..WORKS AMAZINGLY!! If you think I'm lying go to your nearest dollar store and find it. It's really cheap!! and REALLY WORKS so..you're not losing anything!

Cons:

- Dries out skin fast!
-when you're all out your sad )= (I suggest stock up..it's only 1.50)
- Burning and itching may occur but it is mostly moderate

- I suggest using st.Ives apricot scrub to help with the drying of the skin (softens skins and just makes you look amazing dollor store also for like 3.50,for the drying and peeling of the skin it may cause (everyone diffrent i didnt have peeling but here is my opinion) and it softens your skin so a double win and smells amazing!! - Bottom line::: This is an amazing effective product that really works, like if you have severe acne i HIGHLY recommended this and if it dosen't work, you don't lose anything!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
