I had adult acne for over 10 years. I spent a lot of money on skin (face) treatments, from dermatologists to over the counter products. I was just searching for something to keep my acne at bay. I can't ever remember a time during those years that I haven't had acne. My face was covered in dark marks that my acne would leave behind and the cycle kept on repeating itself. Nothing ever really worked until I started using acne.org regimen. It has been 5 months now since I started using this product and I know it works. I'm happy to say that I have clear glowing skin now and other people noticed too. As a woman, appearance means a lot!! Thank you Acne.org for ending my search of achieving beautiful skin. I will keep spreading the word of your wonderful work/ products.

Wish I never started using this product.
I was DESPERATE. I wanted my acne to be gone for good so I did my research and after trying numerous products (that never seemed to work) I stumbled upon "the regimen". I lasted about a week just researching the product and seeing videos from people who have bought the it; since they were all satisfied and claimed they had amazing results, I went ahead and bought it. It just made my acne worst. I started getting acne in places around my face that I wouldn't normally get. Now I am in no way bashing the product I am just writing this because when i bought the product there seemed to barely ( if any) have any "bad" reviews. Also I am aware that there is a certain way the product should be put on and all that but sadly for me it just didn't work. All in all, some products dont work on everyone and this definitely did not work for me. GOOD LUCK!

This product brings all acne under the skin to the surface before it clears it up! That is what I found happened to my face too! Don't lose hope. You must be persistent for about a month and a half before you start seeing real results and about 4-6 months before your face will be 100% clear! This stuff isn't a one week miracle but it certainly is a miracle is you're patient with it and go through the annoying breakouts and dry skin first!

I experience the same thing. I never had acne around my mouth or on my cheeks and jawline but I've been using the regimen for over 2 months now and it just keeps spreading. It did go away on my forehead and temples but keeps appearing in new places. Still hoping it gets better but it might just be wishful thinking!:/

Absolutely awful!!!!
I decided to pick this up instead of my usual Clean & Clear to save money but like they say you get what you pay for and in this case I didn't even get that because it wasn't worth the money paid for it! When I wash my face there is a oily film left on it that I can't get off by rinsing. I ultimately had to use something g else I wash away the film. What the !?

good
Really great product. Overnight results on mild acne. I didn't use this as a spot treatment but on my entire face before bed every night but I used a moisturizer over it! At day time I apply suncream over it.

Works great!
i started using this product about 5 weeks ago. I started with the 2.5% and now I'm using the 5%. I think I will end up moving on to the 10%. I bought the product as a cream, and I put it on right after I wash my face. I wait for a couple minutes and then moisturize. it works awesome! I had pretty bad acne on my chin and cheeks, and it was gone within 2 weeks of using the 2.5%. I'd recommend using the product twice daily, as that works best for me, and I think that's what the regimen tells you to do... anyways if you're looking to clear up your acne this is definitely a good product to try!! I also paired it with a tea tree oil spot treatment for any stray pimples that might pop up, and that works well too :)

Amazing
Leaves face amazingly soft.it is clearing up my acne with the rest of the system. I know many people might be afraid to try it but it really works well. The first weeks or two can dry your skin a little but it really works. I use it twice daily but in the morning I use the three steps with the proactive solution oil free moisturizer with spf 15. Overall I think the whole line is amazing and would recommend it to people with mild-moderate acne

Works / terrible side effects
This product did somewhat clear my skin although was not worth it. I woke up to red, flaking, dried out skin. It's been 3 days of this gross dried skin, i moisturize every morning and night, Also exfoliate but no help. I guess I have to wait it out. Please try benzoyl peroxide at a lower percent first before 10%.

Love this treatment!
I had severe cystic acne in my teens and early twenties. I was on antibiotics constantly, retina-A and finally accutane. Accutane did get my acne under control, but it came back around the 9-10 year mark, which is what they were finding out through patients like me. It didn't come back as strong and birth control helped keep it at bay for a while, but eventually, over say another six or so years the cysts were back. I used Proactive for a long while, but as I reached my late 30's it seemed to really dry my skin out. It was making it red and tired looking so I shopped around for a few years trying to find the right product. Then I stumbled upon Carley's products. I believe I saw them on Amazon. I'd been trying to go more natural for years, and after getting over the "Don't Use Oils' on your acne movement of the 80's and 90's, I thought I'd give it a try. Well, I'm so glad I did! I really love their acne regimen with benzoyl peroxide! I don't use a washcloth after as they suggest, my skin is to sensitive for that, and the scrub in the formula is enough. I do rinse with their soap or african black soap I get from Ghana. My skin is not dry anymore, and it rarely breaks out. I believe my scars have faded and plumped a bit, which is nice because I'm 44 now, and every little bit helps. :) I have always looked young for my age, I have a fuller face and no crows feet, and Carley's acne treatment helps keep it that way. I received a sample of the tea tree oil treatment and I've been trying that slowly. I don't want to mess with a good thing, but I think the tea tree formula will be a great fit for my lifestyle. One last thing. If you have cysts you'll know that almost nothing topical can 'cure' that. Some things can help the inflammation, but cysts are an inner body thing. I've been to enough dermatologists to know this. I was a vegetarian for over 10 years, but it wasn't until I became a vegan that my cysts stopped forming. They were less, and Carley's helps my skin's overall appearance, but something about cutting out the dairy in my diet calmed my cysts. Been a vegan for nine months, and haven't had a cyst in over 6 months. As long as Carley's doesn't mess with their formula I will probably use it forever! And if I find I no longer need the acne treatment. I'll try their anti-aging treatment!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
