Pros:

Two weeks of using the acne products have shown AMAZING results in a short time. My skin tone is actually changing for the better. I've had skin irritations for years and this is truly a God send. I'm using the soap for my hair and body also great!

Cons:

Wish I had found it 37 years ago!

Best product for the money and IT WORKS!

Pros:

Clears up skin in the first couple of days, works great for people who dont have sensitive skin,

Cons:

burnt my face
caused swelling
clogged pores

i have very sensitive skin, i used this treatment and noticed a difference in about two days, blackheads had cleared, under the skin blemishes had gone. but after about 4 days i felt a swelling under my nose, it had clogged one of my pores and created a swelling on the right side of my nose and made it difficult to see. aswell as this areas around my mouth and lower nose started to burn. this is a good product if you don't react to benzol peroxide and if you dont have sensitive skin.

Pros:

Works good as a spot treatment. Pretty cheap, too.

Cons:

Doesn't work well on clearing your whole face. It smells bad a little and it deffinetley doesn't drie lear even though it says it does.

I think that Oxy is a good, cheap product for clearing up single pimples but not your whole face. It smells but not really strong. Doesn't dry clear so I suggest using it before bed.

Pros:

Smoothes your skin

Cons:

Does Burn at first, gets dry in the beginning and is slow at clearing skin but definitely works.

Ive been using proactiv on and off for about 8 or 9 years (i use it a.m. and p.m. no skipping days!) and to tell ya the truth, im better using it then i am without! I cant believe the difference in my skin from when im using it to not using it! At first your face will be red, itchy, burning and dry but after 2 weeks its back to normal (unless you have allergy to the peroxide) and i would say it takes at least 2mths to clear up acne.

After a few weeks I noticed that my skin had cleared up a lot. Helps prevent pimples.

Cons:

Did not help at all with blackheads. the toner was used very quickly.

It works, but not for everything.

Pros:

worked the first couple of times, but the more i used it, it irritated my skin and i already have sensative skin. it put burn marks all over my face, and a day later it's still swollen and burns badly.

Cons:

it worked the first couple of times but the last time i used it, it litteraly burned my skin to a swollen and painful soar on my face.

This product caught my eye from being cheap, but it catches everyone elses eye to see big burns on my faces that i did'nt expect to get from zit cream. IT HURTS REALLY BAD!!!

Pros:

that its easy to use

Cons:

if you stop using it for one day .. you will regret it

i only use this product for last result i need this bump to clear up now type situations .... i wouldn't use this product on my face everyday because its to harsh on your skin... like honestly the first few days you can tell a difference but then a good 2 weeks into the product it slowly start burning your face and irritates the skin to the point of insanity ... like is starts making your skin peel ... like plus it just smoothes your face and leaves the scars.... a lot of my scars on my face are due to proactive ... and it still leaves the black heads on your face as well .. i think if you have like crater ... cyst ... holes .. knots ... severe black heads .. whiteheads .. patches of bumps on your face like all that sh*t on your face then yeah use proactive but if you have light .. moderate acne don't use this product because it will lowkey make it worse because it'll leave all the scars and then you will have to go to the doctor like me and invest in lighting creams ...

Pros:

this is by far the best ever. it worked within 2 days. the 1st day my face broke out very bad, the 2nd day i woke up with not a pimple, blackhead, or scar in sight. this product makes proactiv look like a joke.

Cons:

none at all. my skin has been beautiful every since i started using this product

i've tried a countless number of products to cope with the acne on my skin. my acne would actually worsen when my monthly came on and would only leave scars and redness. everything i used before would only lessen the number of pimples in my break out to a more mild form of acne but never actually clear my skin like how they advertise proactiv on tv. also, other products i had to use consistently everyday to keep my acne from getting severe. this product can be used at least every 2 or 3 days and the acne & blackhead terminator works fast against any sudden pimple or blackhead. it can be used by itself if u dnt feel like paying for the whole kit. wonderful product i love it

Cons:

My wife has been using this product. After washing her hands and drying them on a towel, it has taken the color out of at least four towels. I was concerned about what is in the product that could be this stong as to take the color out of a towel?

Not sure if it is worth using if it is this strong.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
