Pros:

Doesn't use animal bi-products and doesn't test anything on animals.
Smells nice, exfoliated without overdrying. Works really well and prevents acne.

Cons:

Just use white wash clothes this product contains peroxide and will bleach colored towels. Thats it!! ;)

I love this product and highly recommend this to anybody with acne of any sort. I have tried everything even topical ointment from the doctorrs and nothing works like this product. It is the best, its not filled with fake inorganic fillers and doesn't have to do anything with animal biproducts. Its natural and thats how cleansing products should be. Trust me this product is worth the cost and the effectiveness. IT TRULY IS THE BEST ACNE PRODUCT AND CLEANSER.I have stuck with them for years and if you have the simplest concern the customer service is always there they are caring people who are knowledgeable in dermatology and are there to help. This product works and yes be patient but it will work.It takes time to get the nasty products out of your pores and the good stuff to clean it out. I promise, I am a customer for life and my sister is also don't waste your money on the other big name products just get this stuff, IT WORKS!!!

Pros:

Lasts a very long time, clears acne better than any prescriptions I have ever tried, such as differin gel, acanya, antibiotics, epiduo, and tazorac, very affordable compared to prescription medications, GREAT option for anyone wanting clearer skin!

Cons:

NONE

This is a great product and I thank Dan Kern immensely for all that he has done with Acne.org and the regimen! It is truly worth all of his time and effort, and I believe he has made lots of people very happy including myself! Thanks Dan

Pros:

Cheap, matte consistency, works great!

Cons:

Nothing at all

I have fairly good skin that's a little shiny sometimes but generally i don't have acne. However around my period I usually get one huge pimple that refuses to disappear for over a week! This stuff is amazing in the way that it dries up the pimple and makes it so easy and efficient to pop ( the right way, with the hot water and compress and sterilized needle and everything) a few days of putting this on at night and any pimple no matter how big or Small will be ready to pop with a perfect white head. Put on a little neosporin afterwards and it's healed in two days! Amazing loved this stuff as a spot treatment and don't plan to ever use another product again! I used to use tea tree oil but this stuff is so much better

Cons:

horrible customer service

i ordered proactive to try it out. used it a month a worked pretty well after a week or two. it took too long to go through the process for my busy schedual. so i decided to cancel the reocurring shipment of my order. only the second month in and i have already payed $45 or so on the product. i call to cancel and they say i still owe over $40 for some reason. i guess the day i call to cancel, they send 3 months worth of product without any warning. i think its a messed up system they have going to get peoples money...

Pros:

leaves skin feeling soft and clean
tingly feeling
clears my skin
a little goes a long way
it works after im done washing my face

Cons:

drys my skin out (but i just use a moisturizer so thats not much of a problem)
burning feeling if left on for too long

for 10% of benzoyl peroxide, thats a lot so i have to make sure that i wont use too much. to be correct, i have actually been using this product for 5 weeks and i saw results in 2 weeks! i cant get over how amazing this stuff is its like a miracle in a bottle! lol using it 3 times a day isnt too much, and you can definitely tell that its still working after you have washed your face because you can still feel the tingling afterwards. it does dry my skin out but i have found out that olay is a good moisturizer to use with this and thats what i am doing. since i have combination skin i have to use these products more in other places(nose, forehead). my acne is the worse on my forehead and thanks to this product there is nothing left now. the tingly feeling is true, and i actually like it. it makes my face feel clean (and then it also feels like my face is in a bowl of ice cold water lol) i leave it on for exactly 1 minute and then rinse it off otherwise it will start to feel like its burning. and i let it air dry (even though im probably not supposed to) but i dont any of my towels bleached because it will bleach them (trust me). i used to use the neutrogena pink grapegruit facial wash and that broke me out terribly so i HAD to find something else so i went outside of the neutrogena brand and found this sucker :) im telling you, these two products are miracles for my skin and they have done wonders....if i could send before and after pictures i would

Pros:

-It works depending on the person
-Deep cleansing can be used on face on body
-Lasts long

Cons:

-EXPENSIVE!!

It works for some people. When i first started using my face would get irritated and sting i went back to the shop and they added on products as i was 12 and had a sensitive face (i was overconfident and didnt bother reading the directions turns out i was using more of the step 1 cleansing than told so kinda my fault >_<) only at night would i use the products with benzyl peroxide but i would also have to use the green tea moisturizer. Since then my face rarely stings hardly any pimples.

Pros:

Good BP gel

Cons:

Irritating
Expensive

The BP gel is nice, and works well (in a pinch) with the acne.org regimen. I found the cleanser to be irritating. It always felt good to exfoliate with it, but in the end it just ended up causing more acne. I used Proactive for years-- teenage years and early twenties-- and as soon as it would clear up some of my acne, it would just cause more in a few days/weeks. It worked occasionally, but I was never able to get completely clear with Proactiv.

Pros:

-worked well at first
-wasn't too harsh
-cleanser and moisturizer smelled good
-Gave a nice glow for the first hour or so after washing my face

Cons:

-didn't work well after the first 2-3 weeks.
-HORRIBLE customer service
-it autoships, so every month they send you more whether you want it or not. The customer service makes it hard to cancel this.
-Use menthol (HORRIBLE skin irritant!)

I had the cream cleanser, anti-acne treatment, and moisturizer. I have combination skin, with light-moderate acne. I guess this cleared my skin up a little bit, but it didn't last for long. They say that it's a personalized acne system, but it really isn't. Everyone gets the same anti-acne treatment, the only thing that changes is the face wash and the moisturizer or additional treatment. They send you the stuff every month, and the customer service is so bad that it took me 2 months to get them to cancel it, so I ended up paying 150 dollars for skin care that I didn't even want. I always liked Neutrogena's over the counter stuff, but this just dissapointed me.

Pros:

- It works.
- It's cheap
- I like the consistence: It's a nice gel.
- Comes in a good size
- Easy to apply

Cons:

- Combinig it with moisturizer is a bit different than usual, but if you use the right technique it works just fine

Since I live in the UK, I couldn't get Dan's Acne Treatment without some extra delivery costs of 50$ or so, and that wasn't worth it for me. So I checked the internet and found this distributed on Amazon in a 3-pack for a fairly cheap prize. I've been going with Dan's Regimen (combining it with Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser and Moisturizing Lotion) and am happy to recommend this product. It really helps. I've been using it now for almost a month, and my face has considerably cleared up. I recommend to use a make-up sponge to apply the moisturizer, and sort of dab it on, so it won't mix so much with the BP. Otherwise the moisturizer will be hard to spread and leave a white trace on your face for about 15 min or so, until it's absorbed. In general: If you can't get Dan's products, go ahead and order this!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
