Pros:

If used as directed, this is an effective acne treatment, and does clear up your acne, and the portions of my skin that are completely cleared up feel incredibly smooth.

Cons:

This product has caused excessive over drying of my skin, which the proactiv moisturizer does nothing to alleviate. I ended up using organic lotion to supplement, which has helped greatly.

Effective product, but I will be searching for something else, or at least will seek out a kiosk that I can purchase this from. I have had nothing but issues since I signed up for their online account; sending to the wrong address, my kit defaulting to the most expensive products, which I would have never known if I had not checked and changed manually, misleading billing information and complete lack of explanation on how the billing process works. I also paid an extra $9.99 for overnight shipping only to find out that it wasn't overnight shipping at all, and my order was still going to take a week to arrive. They did at least credit me back this amount, and will credit me back the amount I was automatically charged for the kit that I received that I was never supposed to receive once I return it to them (they are paying for the return shipping). I utilized their "ship now" service a week before my next shipment was due to be processed because I was extremely low; I received an email immediately after stating that my order would arrive in two to three weeks. ? How that makes any sense whatsoever is beyond me; I would think that if they had a "ship now" button, it would be so that you received your shipment faster. As a result, I completely ran out and did not have any treatment for two weeks. The second you stop using this system, your acne flares up, so I was not very happy with this. My recommendation: save yourself the hassle of dealing with this unethical company. They misrepresent how their program works, and you would be better off finding a different acne treatment system, or at least finding a kiosk or store that they sell it in so you can purchase what you need at your own leisure. It's unfortunate, because overall I do believe their product is very effective and I am happy with the results, but I do not trust this company.

Pros:

Huge bottle, product works

Cons:

I have to wait 3 days to get it in the mail

6 years ago I had horrific acne, the kind that hurt when I smiled. Tried prescriptions proactive, diet changes. Nothing worked, I came across Carley's website and figured "what the heck". It arrived while I was on vacation. The Monday I went back to work was awesome, no acne no red skin no pain. It gave me confidence. This product works every time for 6 years and counting.

Pros:

Best non drying face wash on the market. Have used this for over a decade now. I have tried every product on the market for over 10 years and nothing worked as well as this. Scrubs but gently, cleans but doesn't dry. My skin has been softer and less oily since I started with it. Either others where to week and did nothing or dried it so severely it made my face peal. Very happy ever day I use it. I'm not a teenager and adult oliy skin is very difficult to overcome. This did it for me !

Cons:

After a decade of use I have seen any problems.

I started using this at 40 with oily skin, tried everything including many medications from by dermatologist but have not had the success I have had this product. Great stuff.

Pros:

clears up acne, exfoliates, all natural, gentle

Cons:

none

I am in my 30's and have worse acne now than in my teens. Nothing over the counter has worked for me. I tried Proactive and while it cleared my skin, I was allergic to it and my face swelled! not good! I first purchased this product about a year ago because it was all natural and a friend had used it and loved it. It worked great. For some reason I went back to the over-the-counter products after using 2 bottles and my acne came back. I ordered more bottles of Carley's and after a week my acne was clearing up and there were no new break outs. I love the samples that are sent too. I am not a big lotion user but some of this is AMAZING and I will be purchasing later! Great product and the only thing that has worked for me. One bottle lasts at least a month if not longer. Pricier than over-the-counter but worth every penny.

Pros:

.....to tell you the truth, none. Other than the 'okay' price and how it did dry out some pimples.

Cons:

Dries out skin! Need to moisturize!
Causes immense irritation and redness
Didn't help a lot in the long run. Didn't help with blackheads :c

Not a very good product. Ruined sensitive areas on my face. The price is okay but could be better. My face dried out a lot and flakiness and peeling set in. Blackheads stayed!!! Not a gentle choice. Really, not worth it.

Pros:

Clears up acne, leaves skin soft

Cons:

I wish that it would get rid of my white heads it seems to make it a little out of control but not to much of a problem,.

No matter how good a product is, nit will not work for everyone. I have used proactive for years and it did not work but it has helped others so I will not go calling them a fake. Having said that, so far Carley's seems to be the only product that has significantly cleared my skin, my skin is not perfect as yet but I see clearer skin everyday. For those who are considering it, don't put all your trust in the product right away, try it and just be hopeful because it may not work and then again you might get the result that you want and you will love it. But just try it.

Pros:

it works for some people i guess.

Cons:

I tried it, decided it just wasn't for me, and am now going through h3ll for it. I was charged for a second shipment without consent or even knowledge it was coming. I cancelled my account the next day and refused that package when it arrived. It has now been over a month with no "money back guarantee." Sure, if the money comes ever, they can still say its a guarantee but don't count on it. It has been over a month now with no reimbursement for an authorized charge and I have called to inqui

dont buy it.

Pros:

Effective when used on a bump where you can feel a pimple forming
2.5% benzoyl peroxide

Cons:

Burned my skin at first
Makes my skin peel and flake like nothing else
Did not prevent acne for the most part
Did not clear up existing acne/possibly made it last longer

I had a bad hormonal breakout on the sides of my face and decided to use this product for the first time. A small amount of this on that area caused it to turn bright red and burn for a few days, which later caused an unbelievable amount of peeling and any makeup I used over it looked ridiculous. Even though my skin was peeling like crazy, the breakout did not look any better at all and I actually got some additional smaller spots on the areas I used it. I finally got a refill of Finacea, stopped using this product and used that instead, and the very next morning it looked so, so much better. It should be noted that I first started using Finacea about a year ago, so my skin has had time to get used to it, but I never had the kind of terrible burning and peeling with Finacea that I did with this benzoyl peroxide. The only use I have gotten out of On-the-Spot is that it seems to be the best thing I've used to prevent pimples from forming if they're just small, somewhat invisible bumps. For only that, I recommend it. Otherwise, for me, it doesn't seem to prevent acne or make it better at all.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
