Pros:

I don`t really have an acne problem, but it cleared the acne i did have on my face.

Cons:

Dries skins FAST! Do not put around eyes.. it'll burn like no other

it is a good product, my only objection is the irritation it is doing to my eyes as we speak.

Pros:

Clears skin, Works!

Cons:

Refining mask smells a little.

Proactiv solutions works well on my skin, and I must say, I do have sensitive. But I've been using it once a day, only at night, and it works just fine, that way you won't dry out your skin. You have to be patient while using this product, because for me, it took 4 weeks to see results, and other people, it may take more or less. And I was patient, and I do see a big improvement in my skin, and it looks a lot better. It also makes your skin feel clean. =]

Pros:

Great stuff. My sister in Korea had skin problem since she is a teenager. I bought her acnefree in February/07. She tried for a wk and her face became very dry. She disliked it. I told her to use them since she has them. 2-3 months later,no acne ever

Cons:

It dries up the skin big time. I saw my sister's face drying up, thinking it cause more wrinkles..so, she only put the solution where she has pimples (pretty much everywhere -.-;), it helped.

The stuff really works. You just have to have some patience. You may not get the result in a week, but keep using it.

Pros:

It really works!

Cons:

Dries out skin like crazy, bleaches towels, sheets & clothing if you're not careful.

After paying waaay too much money for Mario Badescu products and having them break me out worse than ever, I needed something strong & effective to clear me up. Even with make-up, it was obvious I had bad acne because my face was covered with huge, bumpy cysts and pimples. I spent a weekend at home & applied liberal amounts of this three times a day. I didn't wear make-up & kept my hair out of my face. By Monday, my skin was dramatically better. It wasn't perfect, and it was extremely dried out (but I expected that), but the bumpiness was gone. Since then, I've applied it only at night, along with using tea tree oil as a spot treatment, and my skin has improved ten-fold. It's not perfect, but it's more effective than other products that cost a lot more money.

Pros:

Makes me feel like I'm getting a good cleaning (strong, Skin feels soft

Cons:

Whiteheads whiteheads everywhere!!!! Also blackheads have gotten worse...no pimples though

I really dont know what to do or think at this point. Should I keep it up, in hopes that the whiteheads and backheads go away? OR Do I stop using it, and hope my face dont breakout like a pizza pie from all the crazy stuff I've put on it? The product is SO strong that when I use them all together sometimes I smell of burnt flesh....that cant be good!!! Lets talk infomercials...Jessica Simpson shut up! SO annoying, stop talking like a baby. They should use someone who is real that we can relate too. To be honest I would love to see her breakout. Anyways I would recommend maybe for someone who has lots of inflammed pimples (not me) I got it in hope my witeheads and blackhead would go away and it only made them worse

Pros:

Feels wonderful. Very smooth. Light scent, if any. Great size. Ships quickly. Nice price and packaging!

Cons:

I haven't seen any cons yet....

I am obsessed with the regimen!! I am writing a review after using the regimen for nearly 4 wks, but tonight is the first night I have tried the DK BPgel that I received in the mail today. I purchased it mainly to help the look of the product under makeup; the cream Neutrogena OTS product would ball up w/ moisturizer, so I wanted to try this. I am already in love with it. It feels great! I hope it works as well as the OTS has been working for me. I had an initial clearing and then breakout just like the "What to Expect" page warned, but now I'm clearing up for the most part. My acne would be considered mild, but recently it really flared up after using Proactiv. :( I am so thankful for finding this page, and I hope my small amount of lingering acne will completely vanish soon. I have a lot of faith in DK's Regimen. Thanks, Dan.

Pros:

For me, at least, its 100% positive using this product. The ONLY products that work for me is this, and proactive's "night lotion".

Cons:

Availability. They quit selling this in my area, so I had to start ordering proactive again, which is amajor pain in the @$$!

It works for some, and dont for others. But for my particular skin, it works awesome. I only had breakouts when i didn't use it often enough, or because of my laziness. I HATE that they dont sell this around my area anymore.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
