I have been using this product for 4 months now. I have not seen any improvment in my skin, it seems to be worse. Do not think this is worth the money!

Pros:

clears up skin fast
easy to use

Cons:

bottles break
doesnt last a month
drys out skin

This producted works. First week my skin started clearing up a lot. It felt smooth and looked great. Second week I had no acne at all, but third week i broke out again. Fourth week i started clearing up again, but two of my three bottles broke and my skin became dependent to max clarity and now im breaking out again. the bottles wont last a month and they break easily. The BP helps out so much just use a moisturizer because it can dry out your skin. I'm continuing to use this product and planning on ordering again

Pros:

Because of the before and after photos i found something much better

Cons:

I had accidentally gotten proactive into an open pimple that I had squeezed an hour before and it was awful. So I hoped that proactive may help in some way, it was even worse. My skin got so dry and flakey I didn't leave the house for days. It was my fault thinking that the new proactive would make a different when the drug is exactly the same as old proactive and every other acne treatment I have tried. My sister was a before and after photo for max clarity and her acne went away, but they don

I only used pro active and did not use anything else, the bottom line is it's just to strong for my skin. The good news is I am using a natural acne treatment that is becoming really popular called LEROSETT and there is no burning and much of my acne is finally gone. The bad news is my sisters acne has come back since she stopped the antibiotics and the max clarity, in think the new natural acne product will work for her like it did for me. Diane

Pros:

-Clears acne
-Doesn't dry your face too much
-Not harsh
-Makes skin smooth

Cons:

-Kind of expensive

I really think that this product does work, you just need to give it time and use it consistently, as well as how they say to. I recommend using the Refining Mask as well. I used to break out about every two days and now I barley breakout at all. I am amazed at how clear my skin is already. I love it.

Pros:

inexpensive emergency kit

Cons:

benzol peroxide is aging
will stop working after awhile

For emergency, grab this product, use it for few months. But overtime, switch to a less abrasive products and use sunblock. Often times, its our own fault on why we break out. In my case, stress related, touching my face and forgetting to get in a regimen program. I also break out when I dont drink enough water and when i eat junk foods (sweets). so be healthy and drink your H20. Peace!

Pros:

WHEW! ACNE JUST GOT LOST THE FIRST WEEK. I THOUGHT MAYBE ITS A MIRACLE. HMMM

Cons:

AYEEE! MY SKIN IS SO DRY, AND SENSITIVE. THIS IS NOT FOR THOSE WHO HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN. AND WITH DRY SKIN COMES ITCHY UNCONFORTABLE SKIN. THE ODOR TO THE STEPS IS NOT VERY PLEASNT, AND ONCE YOU APPLY IT YOU WOULD THINK IT WOULD SOON FADE BUT WHEW WEE ITS STINKY. I DON'T LIKE THAT THE PEOPLE AT THE COMPANY HAVE MY CC# AND FROM THE SOUND OF OTHER REVIEWS IT MIGHT BE A CHALLANGE TO REVERSE AN UNWANTED REORDER! WE WILL SEE LET THE FIGHT BEGIN!

I HAVE DECIDED SINCE IT SEEMS TO WORK TO TRY TO CREATE MY OWN TREATMENT PLAN AND NOT ALWAYS FOLLOW THE STEPS SINCE STEP ONE FEELS LIKE SANDPAPER IN A BOTTLE. ONCE A DAY OR EVERY OTHER DAY HAS SEEMED TO ME GOOD FOR ME. I LOVE THE OIL CONTROL CREAM. WHEN YOU'VE BEEN AT WORK ALL DAY YOUR FACE DOESN'T LOOK LIKE AN OIL SLICK. I HAVE USED OTHER PRODUCTS THAT WERE MUCH CHEAPER. PANOXYL THAT IS OTC SEEMS TO BE HARD TO BEAT. IT HAS BENZOL PEROXIDE AND WITHIN 1 WK YOU WILL HAVE THE SAME RESULTS AND THEY LAST LONGER. AFTER THIS FIRST WEEK OF USE I AM STILL ON THE FENCE. I HOPE THAT IT WORKS FOR OTHERS WHO SEEK CLEAR BEAUTIFUL SKIN. JUST KNOW THAT YOUR SKIN WILL BE SO DRY AND ITCHY.

Pros:

Easy to spread around, generous amount. Makes blackheads turn white.

Cons:

Dries out your skin, Makes redmarks even redder and doesn't allow them to fade.

I used this product for about 4 years along with the DKR. I used it for so long because I did feel like it was keeping some of my acne at bay, but it never did completely clear up my skin. I was scared to stop using it so I continued for years and years. I do believe that this product may work for some people, and it did seem to work for me at least a little bit. I finally decided to stop because I realized it was really not getting better. My red marks have faded a lot more and I haven't had any major breakouts from stopping this product.

Pros:

lightweight
dries quickly
no smell
very smooth
gets rid of acne

Cons:

bleaches stuff.
can be painful at first

when this product is used on is own,it does the job well. combined with dans whole system plus the aha formula got me clear and keeps me clear. Like everyone else who reviews this, i can say that nothing else has worked including every home remedy to prescriptions to proactive to all other acne washes. Bottom line: try this product if you are at your wits end. And get the system

Pros:

Effective, cheap, clear, easy to apply.
Most importantly: IT WORKS!

Cons:

My skin flaked a little during the first week, but then it adjusted and the flaking stopped. For a benzoyl peroxide based product, this is actually quite gentle.

I wasn't a believer - but Acne.org has got me converted. I'm 30 years old. I used to have moderate-severe acne when I was in my teens, and when all else failed I went on Accutane and that cleared up most of my acne problems. However, in all the years since then my skin has continued to be problematic - sensitive, prone to breakouts, not what I would consider "100% acne free". Hardly a week would go by that I wouldn't have at least a pimple somewhere on my face. It wasn't severe, but it was annoying and would frequently affect my self-confidence. A few months ago I was going through a series of breakouts and I got really fed up with my skin so I decided to give Acne.org and its treatment a try. I was very apprehensive (I'm pretty sure I had tried BP-based products before) but, despite my doubts, my skin cleared up after just a week of using the treatment. I continued using the treatment and, lo and behold, my skin STAYED clear! In the 3 months that I've been using Acne.org treatment I think I've had maybe 2-3 pimples, and in all cases they disappeared very quickly! My own process is slightly different than the one recommended by Acne.org. In the morning I wash my face with an Alba Pineapple Facial Scrub. After my face dries I apply the benzoyl peroxide treatment, and 15 mins later I apply Alba Aloe & Green Tea moisturizer. Before bedtime I wash my face with Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. After my face dries I apply the BP treatment again, though some nights I skip it if I feel my skin is too sensitive. Finally, after 15 minutes I apply the Acne.org AHA+ (glycolic acid) solution. That does a nice job smoothing out my skin and prepping my skin cells for the scrub next morning.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
