Cons:

Soap and cleanser were too harsh and made my acne so much worse

I am 35 years old female who have been suffering from acne since 12 years old. My acne got really bad when I was in my early 20's and even went on Accutane after trying so many products, antibotics, gels.. you name it! Although my acne calmed down as I got older, I always had a few pimples on my face, only around my mouth. I used to use Dan's BP for a few years, but it stopped working. So after seeing great reviews on Carley's, I gave it a try. I completely regret about the decision I made. This product did not clear my acne at all but made it so much worse. I started noticing some bumps on my chin and above my lips after a few weeks, and they ended up becoming huge painful cysts! I had more than 10 large red cysts which turned to yellow puffs (yuck!!) There were still more coming out too. I could feel my pore were clogged and skin was getting soooo dry! Everytime I wash my face with their soap and cleanser, I could see my skin was almost peeling and completely dried up like sand. Although the company told me to be patient, (since it's an reaction after going off BP and AHA), I could not risk my skin (my face!!) any more. So I completely stopped using it. There were some nights I could not sleep because my face was so itchy and also in pain... You acne may get worse before getting better, but come on, this is not normal. I got so depressed using this product... Some days I did not even leave the house because of the way I looked. In my opinion, this product ruined my skin. It's way too harsh and too irritaing for me. Carley may work for some people, but I learned that it doesn't for me!!! Whoever wants to give it a try, use it with caution please.

Pros:

Easy to Use

Cons:

Didn't work
Dried Out Skin
Caused severe redness and pain like a sunburn

I would not recommend this product to anyone. I had previously used products with Benzoyl Peroxide and after using Proactiv, can no longer do so due to how sensitive my face became to the ingredient. My face became red all over and hurt extremely bad much like a sunburn. I didn't really notice my acne getting any better and discontinued use of the product because the pain was not worth it for the lack of results. Murad, on the other hand, worked miracles! Proactiv is overrated!

Pros:

Best acne treatment I have used. I was on the Acne.org regimen before and it was just not working well with me. But Clean & Smooth has been a big help, I've used for about 5 or so months I think, and in the next couple months I expect my face to be pretty healthy thanks to this product.

Cons:

Soap drys my face out after use, but not any severe drying. My face becomes comfortable after a few hours after washing though. Go through wash rags like crazy but no big deal.

I've came to the conclusion that this whole acne thing is a very psychological thing and also some kind of a curse from tedious habits. Like just living an unhealthy life-style. Not taking care of yourself. Eating pop-tarts, drinking coke, eating pizza, and all that sh*t. Not exercising, just sitting on your ass doing nothing. Caring to much, looking in the mirror all the damn time. Picking your face, just making things look terribly worse. This is pretty much all me. And I've currently made a great change in that lifestyle, drinking water, being active, eating good things, and overall just being care-free. Say I break out, "Okay, big deal, in a week your face will be fine." I don't look in every reflection I pass anymore. I don't pick my skin. And by not doing this along with the use of Clear and Smooth treatment, things are looking good right now and I urge everyone to also make a drastic change in their lifestyle towards how they treat their body. I've sought out a very naturalistic way of living and taking care of myself and as much as it is good for your physical health, I think goes the same for your overall mental health and I don't know how to say it but it's like there's a point where some man says "Alright, you've learned not to care, it's about f**king time, I'll give you a break now." and your face looks healthy. Just be good to your body, it'll be good to you. And just stop caring. Couple years, everything's going to be just dandy.

Pros:

Really works (when you give it time to)! Doesn't dry my skin out. Smells great! Natural, high quality ingredients. Great customer service! Lots of free samples! Flat rate shipping no matter how much you order! Satisfaction Guarantee with no time limit! Great return policy! All Carley's products (that I've tried) are wonderful!

Cons:

None!

I'm in love with all of Carley's products! I've been using the Smooth and Clear scrub for 2 months now, along with their Midnight moisture for acne prone skin and their Daytime moisture for acne prone skin. As a result, my skin looks and feels the best it has in years!! That's the truth!! Before Carley's I tried it all, antibiotics, Retin A, apple cider vinegar (which worked better than antibiotics or Retin A). I will be using Carley's products forever now, I am extremely pleased with the results. You have to know though, that you need to be consistent with use to acheive long term results. I do still get a few pimples from hormones, but they're much more manageable than before. I am so happy that I trusted all these reviews and gave it a try! I recommend you do the same! They have a no questions asked return policy too, so you don't have anything to lose. If you do try Carley's, I hope it works for you! God Bless! =)

Pros:

No harsh chemicals, lasts a long time - many ounces, easy to use, great samples too, excellent product. Not greasy, not drying, just right.

Cons:

Shipping is $8 no matter what. It's really great when you're buying a lot, but when you're only reordering one item, it's a little high.

This really works for me. I got my sister and mother hooked. We love the natural soap. For as much as I used to spend on different soaps and scrubs and masks and spot treatments, etc., Carley's does it all... and for a fraction of the price... You can't go wrong with all natural. I've been using Carley's for a while now and will continue to do so.

Pros:

Individually wrapped. Soothing. No Sting. Large application pad with plenty of medicine on it. Affordably priced. No funky smell. Travel friendly. They seem to be working. I have been using them for 2 weeks with no side effects.

Cons:

Difficult to find. They were on clearance at my local CVS for $3.50 and I bought the last 3 boxes; on sale at my local Genuardi's for $4.99-but other than that, I can't find them. Hopefully they are not being discontinued.

I really like this product. I am in a panic as I am not sure if they are discontinuing this item. I look everywhere I shop and then clean them out of their stock.

Pros:

- Feels and looks like a moisturizer
- Fragrance free
- Good for sensitive skin

Cons:

- Pricey (15.55 for a 50g bottle in Australia)

This is a great program to clear acne. I used it in conjunction with Cetaphil and Witch Hazel and I now have flawless skin.

Pros:

it works sometimes but i have more acne now than i did before. im going back to the cheap stuff i got at walgreens, i think it worked better

Cons:

im going to continue to use the product because it helps but not as fast as i want it to. some parts of my face have been breaking out way more than it ever did before.

it didnt cost me a ton of money so im not sad that i bought it but it did not work the way i wanted it to. the commercials make me think it will work over night, iv been using it for almost 3 months and some days my face is so red and broken out i have to put on a ton of makeup. i still have plenty of the stuff left and im going to use every last drop til its gone but im pretty sure i wont buy any more when its all gone.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
