Pros:

Everything... I'm in love with Dan...

Cons:

Now the packaging is different!
I like the old packaging... :(

Well, I've been using Dan's regimen for over 3 months... since last November. and let me tell you... IT WORKS! WORKS! WORKS! To tell you the truth, I was sorta worried because It didn't make my skin better for little over 2 months, then it started to kicking off on middle of January! I was thinking about stop using Dan's BP because I thought I waited long enough (little over 2 months), but NOOOOO~~~~~ now I'm so glad that I didn't gave up. I still have some red marks and scars, but i can cover them by putting a makeup, it feels awsome to have smooth skin surface, rather than bumpy skin! For now, i'm only using BP at night, because I don't have that much of time in the morning.... but works great for me. Thank you soooooo much Dan! I'm almost done with my BPs I need to order them more... now it has travel size too!

Pros:

Clears Acne, makes skin feel soft and smooth, very affordable, and easily obtained.

Cons:

I honestly haven't encountered one yet.

I've been using this product for about a week now and my skin has cleared up very nicely for the most part. Any zits I felt forming under my skin have been completely zapped, and already formed pimples have begun to significantly fade. A lot of people claim this product dries your skin, but I have yet to have to use a moisturizer. However, I've been using BP products for roughly 4 years. Overall it's a great product and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Pros:

Clears up occasional breakouts well

Cons:

Takes a good bit of time to use the entire system -- and it doesn't work well unless you do

I have occasional breakouts, particularly on my neck. Proactiv is one of the few products that works well for me, but the key is consistency and you HAVE to keep using it. If you stop or only use it occasionally, it doesn't work nearly as well. I've also noticed that if I stop using it and then start again, my skin will sometimes get worse for about a week before getting better.

Pros:

My pimples went away a bit

Cons:

It severly dried out my skin to the point where I had to put oil on it. Even the skin on my eyelids dried out! The moisturizer was not near as rich as it should be.

Even though some of the pimples went away, I had to deal with extremely dry and peeling skin. It's kind of like trading one skin problem for another. I don't recommend this product at all, especially if you have sensitive skin.

Pros:

I didn't use this cream, but a cream similar to this one. I had mild acne on my forehead, which disappeared within a week without any side effects.

Cons:

When I recently applied it to clear a zit on my cheek, it left a dry, red spot (the zit disappeared within 3 days). I guess it's because I over-applied it.

I suppose it dries and reddens sensitive skin. So do not over apply it! And avoid the Sun after applying it.

Pros:

Goes on smoothly. No flaky residue when moisturizer is applied over it.

Cons:

Hasn't done anything to diminish my acne. Makes my face look and feel very greasy.

I don't know, I really want this to work for me, especially after reading all of the other great reviews. I have skin that is pretty greasy but if I wash it it becomes so dry I can't even move my face, and flakes all over the place. The bottom line is that this gel hasn't helped my acne yet, and makes my skin feel dirty and gross.

Pros:

intialy it made me feel clean, however it striped my skin of everything..

Cons:

I was red raw, i got deeper more serious acne, i was so under nourished, the product detroyed the natural immunity in my skin, and it has taken 12 months for my skin to work in a normal manner, it caused it to be sensitive which ive never had..

Get educated, and go back to the basics.. nothing works well when you strip it of everything..

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
