Pros:

Thank God for clearogen! This product has worked wonderfully for me. I had spot break outs on my face and cysts on my neck and shoulders. I use the product as recommended but i bought an extra lotion and i applied it twice everytime i used it.

Cons:

Doesnt smell greatl a little redness but it goes away about 10 minutes after washing face.

This product is worth it if u can afford it buy it! It works great i apply it twice a day sometimes three times. when i apply the lotion i apply it to my entire face once and then i hit problem areas again. Same with my shoulders and neck. Seriously i love this product if you have acne and think it hormone related u owe it to your self to try this product. I apply it as follows. Cleanse all effected areas, tone all effected areas, and put the lotion on your entire face, and on the effected areas twice every time u wash. so if u wash two times a day your effected areas have had lotion rubbed into them 4 times. this worked best for me and i only suggest that u do this if u see no result after a week or so. Thank God for this product.

Pros:

It works for a while then I get a big zit here and there. Now I also have a bunch of small pimples along my hair line. Which has never been a problem before.

Cons:

The price. It stopped working as well.

I have actually used it for years because it was the ONLY thing that seemed to work. It isn't working so well for me anymore and I have been VERY consistant in my routine. I also can't afford it anymore!!! Darn gas prices!

Pros:

Clears skin and eliminates excess oils

Cons:

Causes skin to feel tight/dry

I have had pretty bad acne for about four years. My problem was that no matter what I washed my face with in the morning or at night, my skin would get so oily during the day that it didn't matter. I would have new pimples forming daily because of all my excess oil. Using Panoxyl Bar consistently for the past week has completely eliminated my oil problem. This is the best product for anyone with oily skin causing their outbreaks. I am so happy that my face does not look like a bucket of oil with red spots anymore.

Pros:

smooths skin, gets rid of acne, works fast, leaves skin feeling refreshed, reduces redness

Cons:

none!

Day 1: gets rid of redness, smooths skin, gets rid of minor acne, reduces size of all acne Day 2: wipes out almost all acne Day 3/4+: flawless skin that completely acne-free! this stuff is AMAZING! I just got it 2 days ago and my face is already almost completely clear! It makes your face feel so cool after you use it-- so i actually don't look at washing my face as a chore! I've used products that dry out your face afterwards worse than this product, but you should definitely moisturize after use. I am very satisfied with this product and will continue use! Also, despite its size, the tube looks like it will last a while!

Pros:

Face cleared up instantly, no new blemishes skin looks great.

Cons:

Skin burns alot and is uncomfortable for hours after use, but does not seem excessively dry and is not flaky. Burning might be better by using less quantity or less often. May need to use lotion.

I'm very happy with my results, although the burning is a pretty big setback. It's bad enough to the point where if I cannot find a remedy for the burning I will discontinue use of the product.

Pros:

Cleared my problematic skin almost immediatly.
( and I was getting to the point where it could have been considered moderate to severe)

Cons:

Drying, but who cares?! My skin is clear!

I'm a 24 year old single mother, college student, waitress. If it's not the stress and lack of sleep that's causing my acne, it may be the grease from the restaraunt I work at. I bought a Panoxyl bar around 2 am the morning of April 20 when I got out of work. My skin was getting so bad, I didn't want to leave the house. My self esteem was dropping and I couldn't even make eye contact with anyone without feel self concious. Today is the 21st, my skin.... I kid you not... is clear. No acne. I have scarring and marks, but there is no "acne". Panoxyl is amazing, and I will recommend this product to everyone and anyone who will listen. I'm also using jojoba oil as a moisturizer because again it is very drying.

Proactiv works! Clearer skin in 2 days it is worth every penny.

Cons:

initially it dries the skin, but given time and regular use your skin ajusts.

Proactiv might not be for everyone but if you suffer from acne and have tried just about everything else it couldn't hurt to give it a try. I am very pleased with this product and I am looking forward to using the proactiv cosmetic line as well.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
