Hot Cake
I've never really had acne problems. I had some acne here and there when I was a teen but nothing major. About six months ago I started breaking out badly. I never knew "adult acne" existed until it happened to me. My skin became a mess. I developed horrible acne all over my cheeks and chin. I was so very desperate to find a solution to this problem that I asked my friend how she fixed her life-long cystic acne.

I've used this stuff for years and it's normal to peel a little bit. You should probably use it once a day (either morning or night) and then for you next skin routine (once again morning or night) just cleanse with something that's oil-free and use an oil-free moisturizer. Hope this helped!(:

Best products in the world!!!
I have been using Carley's clear and smooth kick ass industrial strength for years. Before I found this product I tried everything. Even went to the dermatologist and nothing worked.I ran across Carley clear and smooth and thought I would give it a try and I'm so glad I did. I will never use anything else but Carley's products. I can honestly say the best products in the world!

Love. It's my old faithful. Seems more gentle than the regimen bp
I love this product! 2.5 percent is perfect. My face was clear with a few pimples here and there while I used Neutrogena Oil Free cleanser with 2% salicylic acid, then a toner with salicylic acid. Right now I am using a clean and clear version, but I'm going back to Neutrogena's stress relief calming toner, I believe it's called. Then I rub a little of this on. My lotion is usually clyndamicine, but that is prescription. When I am being more gentle, I use cetaphil or suave's cocoa butter lotion has been good to me for years. I usually put it on at night but sometimes I use it during the day. I've never had a problem with it under mineral powder makeup. I tried the acne.org regimen and it was good at first but I'm noticing irritation now. I've gone to using their bp and lotion only at night. I use the face wash occasionally. I fine that the salicylic acid wash and toner seems to gently exfoliate my skin, fading the blemishes over time. It's worth a shot. I'm having bad breakouts lately but I think I need to go back to my roots. I am finding my way to my old regimen bit by bit. It's cheaper and tried and true. I'm not knocking the acne.org regimen. I can see how it's helpful but I won't be buying another kit anytime soon.

Product used: The Regimen
Best thing I could have done for myself!
I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING from Pro Activ, to drugstore, to natural, to prescription and NOTHING worked. I started using acne.org and was feeling a bit discouraged at first as my skin got so dry I could hardly stand it and I felt embarrassed to go in public with my flakey face. THIS PASSES; your skin will adjust to the peroxide in about one months time and from there on our you will see massive results. I could not believe how incredibly this cleared up my skin. It got rid of all those nasty little bumps under my skin, all the blackheads on my nose, and prevents breakouts 9/10. (I do get a small pimple here and there from time to time but nothing that doesn't go away within one day!) I would recommend this to anyone who has lost hope. Splurge on this product and treat yourself to an incredible new face. You will not be disappointed that you tried this product! Things to keep in mind: You MUST be patient with the regimine as your skin may get worse before it gets better but it WILL get better. FOLLOW THE STEPS CLOSELY if you want results! The regimine is pretty strict and it can be time consuming. Don't lose hope if you don't see results right away as this system takes time to work. You won't see perfect skin in a couple weeks. It may takes moths for your complexion to be perfectly clear!

Eh
I mean it did make some of my acne go away but i was still left with marks. I bought this at a local Walgreens and it was okay because unlike all the other products i used, it did not dry out my skin.

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
