Pros:

Brings all the nastiness out of your skin and almost gets rid of it overnight. Fantastic price. You can really feel and see it working.

Cons:

Yes it does sting I fan my face for a little while after but I would rather it sting and work than carry on having zero confidence due too spots

At the age of 28 I have always suffered spots but as I am getting older they appear too be getting worse as opposed too calming down, I am only on my second day of using this cream but from my personal oppinion I really like it, I apply it 3 times a day and when I woke this morning after using it for bed I instantly saw a difference, my spots that are big and ugly all around my chin, cheeks and even above my top lip and forehead seemed too have reduced alot in both size and redness, I do have some whiteheads today but I think that's the cream bringing out the nastiness too be honest and I am not picking at them like I was before.I am getting married in 2012 and I am really hoping this carries on working well for me as I would love too walk down the aisle full of confidence unlike these days where I walk around with my face at the ground :( I am going too change my diet aswell along side this cream as I think that will help too so fruit, veg, water and quinoderm here I come, and spots can move aside!!! U really should try this product! It may work for some and not others but it's worth a go! P.s this is ny first time using this cream and u am using the 10% one. Good luck x

Pros:

Low concentration of benzoyl peroxide
Nice fragrance

Cons:

A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for

I bought the entire ProActive set once, but now my daughter and I only use the Repairing Lotion. I like the low concentration (2.5%) because I can use it all over my face as a lotion instead of a spot treatment. I usually follow it with a very light day lotion.

Pros:

NONE

Cons:

So I read all these raving reviews and yeah I went out and bought some on ebay, I followed directions perfectly but this product was NOT for me. I've never had cysts before, NEVER EVER like this but after using this product instead of the surface acne I was getting deep horrible zits on my chin and cheeks and foreheads and several have scarred. I saw a lot of negative reviews exactly like what I had experienced mixed in before the positive ones. This did NOT work for me.

I thought maybe I'd try it on my back too since I have some body acne that isn't too bad, but NO i got freaking painful CYSTS on my BACK, ARGHHHH after I stopped using this they went away after a while. DO NOT USE THIS SCAM PRODUCT, soaps are bad bad bad bad. Completely disgusted.

Everything

My skin type; Fair, Oily expecially around t-zone. This system worked the first week because I major acne on my fourhead before school started. Within 3 days it was gone. After the first week of using the product it stopped working. It dried my face out horribly. It looked as if I had a sunburn look and feel to it due to irritation. The funny thing is my skin isn't so sensitive until I began using this. Now it has been sensitive since! WASTE OF MONEY. I'm not saying I'm not going to recommend it because everyone's is different but it did not work for me.

Pros:

Works after 1-2 days

Cons:

Only works for about a week, then skin gets worse!
Too drying and irritating, may swell your face, feels/looks like you have a sunburn!

TERRIBLE PRODUCT, DO NOT USE! I'm not allergic to the main ingredient in A.Free, and I've use this product years ago. It was fine back then, but recent changes to the product have seriously effected the quality. I recently began using it again to clear up my skin.It was ok for the first few days but stopped working and made my skin break out more. Tonight, after washing my face, it began to burn really bad as if I had a sunburn. When I looked in the mirror, I was HORRIFIED! My face was so red and irritated. I had to put a soothing gel on to get the burning to calm down. I'm very upset at this company and it's B.S. product.

Pros:

Cleared Acne
Soft Skin

Cons:

Initial Side Effects
Somewhat pricy

I had used Proactiv all throughout high school to keep my skin clear, and it worked really well. I eventually switched to cheaper drugstore cleansers in college because my skin was staying clear. When I recently switched birth control brands, my face broke out worse than it ever had before, and no drugstore acne products were helping. I decided to try Proactiv again. I did go through the initial side effects, but as I had been through them before, I wasn't worried. For the first 2 weeks, my face was dry, red and itchy around my t-zone, and my skin had a slightly bleached appearance. The breakouts also got worse during these two weeks, (as the product warns may happen). I was patient though, and after a month, my face had significantly cleared. 3 months later, my face is completely clear 98% of the time. I do use a moisturizer at least once a day, especially around my eyes, which is an area of my face that tends to dry out first with Proactiv. You have to be patient. Also, the bottles do appear small, but because I use the amount directed, I can make one bottle last 2-3 months. Due to the fact that there are several different skin types, nothing is going to work for absolutely everyone. However, I would say it's worth a try if you haven't found the right product yet!

Pros:

- Works quickly
- Doesn't smell
- Difference is noticable

Cons:

- There are no cons!

Proactive is an effective acne solution. I put it on at 6 p.m. and by the time I woke up (8 a.m.), almost all of my acne on my forehead had vanished! This product really works and I recommend it to others! And unlike other acne medicine it has a nice smell to it! Thanks, Proactiv.

Pros:

Can help clear skin for some, but not for me.

Cons:

-I didn't see much improvement in my acne
-Burned my skin when I applied 2/3 of my finger

I have more sensitive skin but I thought it would still be okay since some people with sensitive skin were able to use 10% b.p. with some success. I wanted to be on the safe side and only bought the 2 oz just to try it out. The first few days were fine, no burning as I gradually increased the dosage of the b.p. for my face. However when I got up to 2/3 of my finger, my face started to burn so bad. I washed it off immediately, but it still didn't feel much better. It was only after I rubbed some aloe on that I felt better. This product wasn't for me. I would recommend for someone who isn't sensitive to benzoyl peroxide

Affordable, Super Effective, Minimal Ingredients

I have very sensitive, allergy prone skin. Most products I try don't work for me. This product is the best, and is on my list of products I can't do without. My older sister even noticed how great my skin was looking and asked what I was doing. Love it. Never want to be without it.

Cons:

Too expensive,
Doesn't work after using it for a while

If you happen to have light acne then this is probably the right item but if you have severe or moderate acne you probably want to get something more strong becuase this isn't that strong. And not the mention this only works the first few month and it just stops working after that. Good luck :)

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
